From Ignored to Adored: The Heiress Melts the Self-Restrained Boss
Chapter 6: Vivian, She’s Pregnant?
CHAPTER 6: CHAPTER 6: VIVIAN, SHE’S PREGNANT?
Caden Hawthorne was momentarily stunned, unable to process what he’d just heard, "Grandpa, what did you just say?"
"The hospital just called. This girl is already five weeks pregnant, and she’s carrying a child of the Hawthorne family. You rascal, you’re going to be a father!" Old Master Hawthorne’s voice was exceptionally excited over the phone, and Caden Hawthorne couldn’t absorb a single word afterward.
"I really didn’t expect it, hitting the mark on the first try. You rascal, you really are capable! Quick, go to the Lynch Family now and bring Vivian Lynch back for me."
Caden Hawthorne stood there dazed, his phone slipping to the ground without him realizing it.
"Vivian Lynch, is she pregnant with my child?"
Lynch Family.
Vivian Lynch stood at the doorway, hesitating to enter, as she heard Mrs. Lynch’s scolding from inside.
"That damned girl, Vivian Lynch, won’t answer the phone, won’t reply to messages, won’t even go to the company—she’s been hiding outside for over a month. What on earth is she trying to do?"
"Mom, maybe sister is hiding at some wild man’s place, that’s why she doesn’t dare to come back."
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Lynch became even more furious, "Has she got an itch? We’ve been feeding her well all these years, letting her attend university, and this is how she repays me?"
"Mom, what should we do now? You’ve already accepted The Warner Family’s dowry. If Director Warner keeps not seeing my sister, he might come over and cause trouble."
Even at this point, her brother Finn Lynch didn’t care about her well-being, just worried about whether The Warner Family would cause trouble.
Standing at the door, Vivian felt deeply ironic—this was what she called family.
Since childhood, because she was adopted, her adoptive mother had been extremely harsh with her, often beating and scolding her at will. Her brother, Finn Lynch, also treated her with disdain, and only her adoptive father was weak by nature; although he had anger in his heart, he never dared to speak out, usually turning a blind eye to the actions of his wife.
Sometimes Vivian would wonder why they adopted her if they didn’t like her.
The constant cursing from her adoptive mother kept reaching her ears, Vivian slowly closed her eyes, a tear gently slipped from the corner of her eye, at this moment she felt immensely cold-hearted.
Just because she was adopted, she had always been neglected in this family. To prove she wasn’t inferior to her licentious brother, she worked diligently at her studies, attending classes while taking temporary jobs to earn her tuition.
She thought that after graduation, joining a company would set everything right, and her adoptive mother would finally recognize and accept her.
But now she realized she was wrong, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t gain her adoptive mother’s approval.
For the sake of money, her adoptive mother was willing to sell her to an ugly and fat man, completely disregarding her life.
Thinking of this, Vivian took a deep breath, wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes, took out her phone, and made a call.
"Hello, Grandpa Hawthorne, can you do me a favor?"
At this moment, a fleet of black luxury cars was speeding towards the Lynch Family.
After hanging up, Vivian slowly opened the door in front of her.
"Bang—" The door was violently pushed open, startling the swearing Mrs. Lynch sitting on the sofa, "Who is it?"
Seeing Vivian returned, Mrs. Lynch was first stunned, then got up from the sofa and quickly approached, grabbing Vivian’s hair.
"You damned girl, you have the nerve to come back?"
"Let go of me!" Vivian gritted her teeth, forcefully shaking off Mrs. Lynch’s hand.
Mrs. Lynch put her hands on her hips, like a shrew cursing on the street, pointing at Vivian, "Hey, you dare to talk back to me? Tell me, where have you been for over a month? Are you hiding at some wild man’s house again?"
"Why I haven’t come home, don’t you know deep down?" Vivian glared angrily at Mrs. Lynch, with a face full of resentment: "You sold me to a hideous and fat man for money and had him drug me, attempting to rape me, what a ’good mother’ you are!"
Beside them, Finn Lynch stood up and reproached Vivian disdainfully, "Vivian Lynch, how can you talk to my mother like that?"
"Pah! You damned girl, don’t think you can forget your roots after a few years of education. So what if you’re sold? You’re an adult now; it’s time to get married. Director Warner’s son fancies you—that’s your blessing." Mrs. Lynch stood with arms akimbo, speaking with righteousness, her face showing no hint of remorse.
Vivian found these words extremely piercing, like sharp needles deeply piercing her heart.
Vivian turned her red eyes away, her voice full of anger, "I’ll never marry that fat ugly man! You can forget about it!"
"It’s not up to you!" Mrs. Lynch retorted viciously, "We’ve raised you for so many years, it’s time you repay us. Since you’ve come back today, marry you shall."
On the side, Finn Lynch acted like he was enjoying the drama, arms crossed, echoing, "Exactly, Mom’s already accepted The Warner Family’s dowry, sis, just resign yourself!"
Finn Lynch laughed with reckless arrogance.
"Son, why are you just standing there? Quickly call Director Warner and have them come over to pick her up." Mrs. Lynch winked at her son, Finn Lynch.
Finn Lynch nodded, hurriedly taking out his phone, preparing to call Director Warner.
Seeing this, Vivian immediately shouted, "Don’t call! I’m pregnant!"
"What did you say?" Upon hearing this, Mrs. Lynch’s face instantly changed.
Vivian took a deep breath, repeating, "I’m pregnant. I won’t marry."
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Lynch’s face turned incredibly ugly, pointing at Vivian, she started a tirade of curses, "You slut! Unknowingly shameful! I knew you’re a worthless wench, should’ve said no when Lynch wanted to keep you. Quickly, who’s the father of the bastard in your belly?"
Vivian bit her lip, stubbornly stating, "It’s definitely not The Warner Family’s."
Finn Lynch chimed in with a sarcastic tone, "Sis, you’ve disgraced the Lynch Family. If The Warner Family finds out, how will we explain?"
Mrs. Lynch’s eyes widened in anger, "You tell me honestly, who’s the father of he child? Speak or I’ll beat you death!"
Speaking, Mrs. Lynch picked up the feather duster from the sofa, hitting Vivian hard.
Vivian let out a cry of pain, instinctively reaching to block, angrily exclaiming, "Even if you beat me to death, I won’t tell you, nor will I marry into the Warner Family."
"Oh, you won’t speak?" At this moment, Mrs. Lynch was already infuriated, repeatedly hitting her with the feather duster, causing Vivian to roll on the ground in pain.
She knew she couldn’t escape this beating today, yet the pain in her heart was a hundred, a thousand times stronger than the physical pain.
Mrs. Lynch still cursed fiercely, "Slut! I’ll beat you until you miscarry!"
At this moment, a furious voice came from outside the door, "Stop..."
