CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 66: UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER WITH SILAS EVERETT AT THE HOSPITAL

In the blink of an eye, Vivian Lynch’s baby in her belly is already four months old. When wearing tight-fitting clothes, her protruding belly is visible; now she dresses in loose outfits that resemble maternity wear.

It’s another day for a prenatal checkup. Early in the morning, Caden Hawthorne has already gone to the office. Vivian knows he’s busy with work, so she doesn’t intend to ask him to accompany her for the checkup.

Mrs. Hawthorne has recently taken a liking to mahjong, arranging games with her wealthy friends and heading out to play cards.

As for Riley Hawthorne, word is that she found a job and has an interview today.

Everyone is busy with their own matters, leaving only Vivian, the pregnant one, with nothing to do, so she goes for the checkup alone.

"Sis-in-law, why don’t I skip my interview today and accompany you to the hospital for your checkup?"

"No need." Vivian smiles and declines, "You’ve finally found a job; the interview is important. Don’t mess up the opportunity on my account."

Riley hesitates, "But sis-in-law, I’m worried about you going alone."

Vivian gently pats Riley’s hand, "Don’t worry, it’s not my first checkup; everything will be fine. Besides, there are doctors and nurses at the hospital; if anything happens, I can ask them for help. You focus on your interview, and I’ll await your good news."

Riley reluctantly nods, "Alright then, sis-in-law, be careful. If anything happens, make sure to call my brother or me."

Vivian responds with a smile, "Got it, go quickly, don’t be late."

After Riley leaves, Vivian gathers her things and asks Uncle Hughes to drive her to the hospital.

Caden Hawthorne is busy at the company, while Yvonne York arrives downstairs at Hawthorne Group.

She’s elegantly dressed in a white dress, making her look graceful and striking.

She lingers downstairs, waiting for Caden to appear.

Ever since Caden banned her last time, Yvonne couldn’t freely enter his office anymore.

Thus, she can only try her luck downstairs, hoping for his appearance.

The company’s employees notice Yvonne, whispering among themselves. Some recognize her as the York Family heiress, admiring her persistence towards Caden. However, Caden remains oblivious to her presence, deeply engrossed in his work, planning for the company’s growth.

Having waited for a long time, Yvonne finally sees Caden’s assistant coming out from the company building. She hastily approaches, smiling and asking, "Hello, is President Hawthorne around? I need to discuss something with him."

Recognizing Yvonne, the assistant courteously replies, "Miss York, President Hawthorne is in a meeting and might not be available to see you. If you have any matters, you can tell me, and I’ll relay them to him."

Yvonne slightly frowns, disappointedly saying, "Is that so? Alright then. When he has some free time, could you please let him know I came by?"

The assistant nods, "Sure, Miss York. I will relay the message."

At the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology department, Vivian waits in line for her checkup. Surrounding her are other expectant mothers and their families, each face filled with anticipation and happiness.

Vivian gazes at her growing belly, overwhelmed with warmth and emotion. She gently caresses her stomach, almost feeling her baby’s heartbeat. She eagerly awaits her baby’s arrival, imagining life ahead.

As Vivian indulges in dreams of the future, she suddenly hears a familiar voice.

"Miss Lynch, what a coincidence."

Vivian looks up to see Silas Everett standing before her, still wearing his gold-rimmed glasses, an ever-present smile on his lips.

Vivian is somewhat surprised, "Mr. Everett? Why are you here?"

Silas shrugs slightly, "Feeling a bit under the weather, came for a checkup. Didn’t expect to run into you again, seems like we’re meant to be."

Vivian smiles politely, "Yes, quite the coincidence. Is Mr. Everett feeling unwell? Is it serious?"

Silas shakes his head, "Nothing serious, just a minor issue. Miss Lynch is here for a prenatal checkup, right?"

Vivian nods, "Yes, the baby is four months along, here for a checkup."

Silas glances at Vivian’s stomach, a trace of tenderness in his eyes, "Congratulations, Miss Lynch, eagerly anticipating the baby’s arrival."

Vivian thanks him again, "Thank you, Mr. Everett."

Just then, a nurse calls Vivian’s name. Vivian speaks to Silas, "Mr. Everett, I’m off for the checkup, goodbye."

Silas nods, "Alright, Miss Lynch, best wishes."

Upon entering the examination room, Silas’s smile gradually fades. He turns to his bodyguard behind him, quietly instructing something.

The bodyguard nods in understanding and turns to leave.

"Madam, your twins are perfectly fine and developing well. Remember to maintain a healthy diet and nutrition, and regularly come for checkups."

"Thank you, doctor." Vivian holds the report, her face lit with joy as she expresses gratitude.

Vivian exits the examination room, her heart filled with relief over her babies’ health. However, upon seeing Silas still nearby, she’s slightly taken aback.

Catching sight of Vivian, Silas resumes his gentle smile, approaching to ask, "Miss Lynch, how were the checkup results?"

Vivian replies politely, "Everything is fine; the doctor said the twins are developing excellently."

Upon hearing this, Silas is momentarily surprised, then his gaze settles on Vivian’s belly, unable to resist saying, "That’s wonderful. You’re truly blessed, carrying twins."

"Indeed! I didn’t expect to be carrying two at once." Vivian smiles, "By the way, why haven’t you left yet, Mr. Everett? Haven’t finished with the doctor?"

Silas shakes his head slightly, "Finished, just got some meds, about to head back."

Silas can’t resist asking, "Isn’t President Hawthorn your husband? How can he leave you to go to the hospital alone?"

"Caden is busy with work; I don’t want to bother him." Vivian hurriedly explains.

After hearing this, Silas couldn’t help but purse his lips, "What work is more important than being with your wife for a prenatal checkup?"

Vivian is slightly stunned, never expecting Silas to say such a thing.

She hurriedly responds, "Don’t say that, Mr. Everett. Caden is working hard for our family. Besides, I’m not here alone; the family butler brought me."

Silas chuckles, "Seems Miss Lynch is very understanding. However, as a husband, it’s essential to spend more time with his wife. After all, pregnancy isn’t easy."

Vivian nods gently, "I understand. Caden also cares a lot about the baby and me. It’s just that at times, work is exceptionally hectic."

Looking at Vivian, Silas’s eyes reveal a complex emotion, "Miss Lynch, you really love your husband, don’t you?"

Vivian caresses her belly, a happy smile on her face, replying without hesitation, "Of course, Caden is very kind to me; I love him very much."
