From Villain to Virtual Sweetheart: The Fake Heir's Grand Scheme(BL)
Chapter 521: A Name Like Gunfire (part two)
CHAPTER 521: A NAME LIKE GUNFIRE (PART TWO)
Naos’s shoulders tensed as he looked at the silver-haired young man nervously. He had only wanted to make a friend, away from these snobbish people. And this man seemed the type not to care about family names or wealth.
He had noticed him earlier, thinking maybe he could finally talk to someone without worrying about his family’s position.
But it seemed he had dragged this young man into trouble.
"I was just asking him a question," Naos said, stepping toward to draw their attention away from Micah.
The three didn’t care and began talking again.
"The Francis auction is next weekend," one of them said. "You’re going, right?"
Micah turned around, mind buzzing. The auction. He had forgotten it completely. The one Gu Feifei had tried to lure him into.
Gu Feifei and Aidan...
His stomach churned.
His worries grew. The Lobart family appeared now, the Francis auction coming up... things were too strange. And ominous.
Micah sat in his car, thinking. He didn’t start the engine. Instead, he rested his elbow against the door, tapping his finger lightly on the steering wheel, once, twice, then again, slower this time. Should he make friends with that young man from the Lobart family?
It wouldn’t be hard to approach him again. The guy seemed easygoing, not like the arrogant heirs Micah had met before. But if Micah suddenly came back inside, wouldn’t it seem too deliberate? Too calculated?
He sighed, leaning back in the seat.
And if he said his name, if he said Ramsy, wouldn’t the young man be wary of him? The two families were both involved in high-tech industries, but they had always kept to their own territories. The Ramsy Empire’s base was in Isatis city, while Lobart operated mainly in the capital.
And Lobart was still not powerful enough to go head-to-head with the Ramsy family. But Micah knew how the story went. In ten years, Nabil Lobart, that cold man who would one day lead the family, would rise into a tycoon capable enough to fight against Ramsy Empire.
Micah drummed his fingers faster. He had no idea how that man managed to grow this much in just ten years, but he didn’t want him as their enemy. Should he talk to Clyde about it?
They would probably come to that auction, right? Should he go too?
He frowned, tilting his head slightly as he stared through the windshield.
But if he went with the young master of the Ramsy family, things could get complicated. First, he had no clue what kind of trap Gu Feifei and Aidan had prepared for him. Next, his identity was a ticking bomb. Being a fake... Anything he built up would vanish like smoke once the truth came out.
He rubbed his temple, muttering. "What a dilemma..."
But Darcy did not want to have anything to do with the Ramsy family; otherwise, Micah would have dragged him into the auction, making a connection with the Lobart family this early on.
Should he go as Asena?
Micah hummed. If he went as her, Aidan would focus on him, thinking it was an opportunity. And maybe contact him to trap Clyde. He could get cozy with Lobarts too...They wouldn’t be guarded against the Du Pont family.
Maybe he could snoop around as Asena and find out what Aidan had planned for him. For Ramsy’s heir.
That was a good plan... Hehe...
Micah rubbed his hands, eyes twinkling.
Maybe he was not an opponent for Silas... but he sure could take the other three! Hmph!
Right. Leo. That stupid actor. By now, the tabloids should have spread the gossip about his manager... it was going to be a storm tonight.
Micah smirked. He just hoped that Luca could keep his promise and not let Leo do anything stupid.
He was about to start the engine when he saw a car parked in front of him.
Micah paused, lowering his hand from the ignition.
The driver’s door opened, and a tall man stepped out. He was dressed in a sharp black suit, not a wrinkle in sight, and his posture was straight as a blade. His face was refined, with a clean jawline and thin-rimmed glasses that gleamed under the light.
Cold. Distance. Unreadable.
He watched as the man pulled out his phone, scrolling briefly, before several people gathered around him. Among them, Micah recognised Naos. The young man ran toward him, eyes sparkling. "Brother!" he called out loud enough that even Micah heard.
"Oh, so that is his older brother, Nabil Lobart?" Micah mumbled. Naos looked nothing like him. Where Nabil stood like a statue carved from marble, Naos was relaxed, dressed in casual clothes.
Micah’s gaze followed the group.
Nabil nodded at the crowd and then left with his brother, not bothering to exchange even small talk. Micah rolled down the window quietly, hoping to catch some gossip.
"Ugh, how long do we have to keep pretending?" one of the men in the group complained.
"Until the heir is announced," another replied quickly. "We can’t mess things up now."
"What if he’s chosen?"
"Really?" the first man snorted. "But isn’t his fiancée the first daughter of the Wilson family? I heard he’ll have to change his family name if that happens."
They laughed at those words.
"Who would have thought that prideful, cold man would be forced to bow, huh?"
"Haha! Serves him right."
"Don’t be too sure," another voice continued. "If he is chosen, the Wilson family will be the ones licking his feet."
"Shush," someone hissed. "Keep your voice down. No one knows. If I weren’t friends with Miss Natasha, we would all be in the dark too."
"Damn, you are so lucky. Being friends with a Francis."
"I know, right?" he laughed.
The group went inside as they laughed. Their voices faded.
Micah’s expression had turned into a question mark. What the hell had he just heard?!
Nabil Lobart... the man who would one day rival Ramsy’s family... was engaged to Aidan’s sister? Huh? And they said the heir was not announced yet, heir of what?
The Francis family was in Isatis city? Who the hell is Natasha?
What was going on?
Micah rubbed his forehead. It was too much information to process. There were too many dark forces in the shadows that Micah never knew about.
Anyway, it was a good thing he saw Nabil Lobart’s face today. That alone might prove useful later. He should go back and talk with Clyde.
