From Your Backup to His Beloved

I didn’t know what kind of help he wanted me to do. I remained silent, but he still said, “My parents can’t ept Thea at all now, especially my mother. Can you put in a good word for her in front of my mother?”
He was trying to kill one and crush one’s spirit.
I think Alvin did it on purpose.
He let me put in a good word for Thea. If there was nothing wrong with his brain, he was
treating me as a pushover.
“Mr. Dolton, if you want me to speak up for you, I definitely won’t say anything good.” I
didn’t pretend to be a saint.
“Zoe…”
“Alvin, I’m not an angel. I’m not that magnanimous. Besides, I’m not rted to Thea. Why
should I speak up for her?” I asked sternly.
In the next second, Alvin asked me, “Are you doing this because you’re jealous?”
Iughed. “So you’re testing me to see if I’m jealous? Mr. Dolton, you might be disappointed. Not only am I not jealous but d I saw through you long ago.”
Alvin sighed. “Zoe, I only gave Thea a title. I owe her that. There’s nothing between us…”
I frowned and interrupted him coldly, “It is between you and her. You can’t tell me.”
“But I don’t know who else to tell other than you,” Alvin’s voice was low and muffled.
iHe /ihad always been high–spirited and rarely had such emotions.
However, he no longer had anything to do with me no matter what. We were all adults and had to pay for our own choices.
“Sorry. I’m swamped.” I pause for a moment before hanging up.
The car drove on until it reached the auto repair shop. I got the car and went to find

Josh had not contacted me for the past few days. I knew he was aware I was with Molly.
Myra had sent me a message saying the light adjustments had beenpleted. She also said Josh had been adjusting and checking the lights all night these few days.
It seemed that all his free time had been made up for by staying up
Jasmine was seriously ill this time. She had a severe cold for a few days. She took a rare
long vacation at home because of it.
“I still have the virus. Be careful, or you might catch it from me,” Jasmine reminded me as
soon as we met.
I immediately gave her a big hug without fear. “I don’t mind catching it.”
She punched me twice. “Don’t think I don’t know why you’re so unafraid of death. You’re the first to dote on Myra before you even get married.”
I didn’t argue when she mentioned Molly. I asked, “How is it? Any progress?”
Jasmine didn’t say anything. I tilted my head and looked at her. “Don’t tell me you still haven’t mustered your courage? Jasmine, this is a life–saving matter.”
“Am I that useless?” she asked me instead.
My eyes instantly lit up. “You contacted him. What did he say?”
Jasmine stopped talking again, but I was anxious. I pulled her arm and shook it. “Tell me quickly. Can he do it or not?”
“He said he will contact me when hees back in a few days,” Jasmine said slowly.
I couldn’t feel it. “It’s more than that, isn’t it? Is there something else?”
Jasmine shook her head. “No, that’s all.”
“That’s all?” I don’t believe it.,

“I’ll go, itoo/i?” I was surprised.

Jasmine said, “Or what? I’ll go by myself?”
I nodded. ‘You’ll go alone. I’m not going to be a third wheel.”
Jasmine did not reply. After a while, she said, “Hispatible partner is also in the same
group as him.”
I froze.

Jasmine smiled bitterly. “Zoey, you’re overthinking. It’s destined to be impossible between
us.”
