CHAPTER 169- REALISATION

“Dang, man. You banged your sis, got backshots from your dad, and were inches away from knocking your hot mum, huh?” Yuna spoke with clear amazement in her voice as they sat in her room.

She, naturally, has turned off all the surveillance in her room since if the HQ got to hear their conversation, getting fired from the org would be the least of her worries.

“Haah~ Look at you making fun of me…” Minoru sighed before taking another sip of the beer. This was the first time he was trying alcohol, and he has to say, it doesn’t do anything other than urge one to take several trips to the urinal.

Yuan grinned, “So what now? Are you going to become an orphan again?”

Minnoru narrowed his eyes, “Can you be a little sensitive about it?”

“Oh, do you mind being called that?”

“I have a family, so I do,” Minoru said as he gulped down the remaining contents of the bottle.

Yuna chuckled, slowly twirling the last bit of alcohol in the glass as she said, “It’s annoying right? That despite how close they were to you, they lost hope in you…just because you are not their blood?”

Minoru’s brows elevated…the way she was speaking, “Were you also adopted by someone in the past?”

Yuna said, “Do you think they would have allowed me to remain peacefully all alone?” With a weary sigh seeping through her lips, she said, “I was handed over to a foster family…lived there until I turned sixteen…somehow.”

Taking a pause she added, “The two sisters I had always remained after my ass. Making things difficult for me….hiding my things and making fun of me in the school.”

With a scoff she added, “They even uploaded a picture of me in my underwear on the internet. You may find it…it got viral I heard.”

Minoru shook his head, “I don't watch clothed females on the internet. Even if it is underwear.”

Yuna chuckled…she didn’t predict that answer.

However, soon her smile broke down as she said, “One day…they broke the picture frame in which I and Dad were fishing together.”

Minoru was startled, “You didn’t kill them, did you?” Considering how close she was to her father, it wouldn’t be surprising.

“Haha~you take me for a vicious woman.” With her eyes darkening, she added, “I just handicapped them a little…tore their arms and severed their legs before putting them on the dining table for their shitty parents to witness.”

“Damn…must have been a sight,” Minoru whistled before he took another bottle of beer for himself.

Yuna clicked her tongue, “Those stupid org people healed them later and I was sent to the military camp.” She really couldn’t do any major damage in the end other than traumatizing them for life.

A brief silence fell over the room. The duo were thinking about their own circumstances. Without knowing alcohol has started to affect them.

“Yuna…do you think they would forgive me?” A thought that wouldn’t have come to his mind a few hours ago suddenly assaulted his mind, making his heart clench. What if they never forgive him?

The silver head shrugged, “I don’t know much about your family…so there is a chance they won’t after what you did to them.”

Minoru took a strong gulp, his mind turning numb.

But a flicker of hope appeared on the horizon when Yuna added, “But…during my investigation…what I have observed I can tell one thing for sure,”

Matching his gaze, she voiced with certainty, “They won’t abandon you.”

Mira was standing in the kitchen, listlessly while holding a cup in which the tea had long gone cold.

Her mind was juggling between several things—first Minoru, then his revelation about being a demon, and then what Shiori disclosed about her past and what Minrou had done for them.

Everything was revolving around one person.

Minoru.

Suddenly, another person entered the living room, catching Mira’s attention as she broke out of her daze and looked at her husband.

They shared a glance before Kosuke lowered his eyes and continued to walk toward the refrigerator.

Just as his hand rested on the handle, he heard her saying, “When did your preference change?”

He turned toward his wife and found her still looking away, her arms crossed on her stomach as she added, “I have looked into your phone…and I never found you searching up for gay porn or anything.”

Kosuke sighed, couldn’t believe he was having this conversation with his wife, “What about you? I couldn’t have imagined you being interested in young boys.” Mira was a strict woman, someone whom Kosuke couldn’t believe had such a taste.

Mira scoffed, “You never noticed what I liked and what I didn’t. You just zipped down your pants, did the ‘job’ and fell asleep.”

“But that doesn’t explain why you were interested in young men.”

Mira turned toward him sharply, “Then can you explain why you cheated on me?” her tone elevated, showing clear anger.

Kosuke didn't show anger as he said, “Look, Mira, we both had our circumstances. We both were frustrated and wanted to vent somewhere. And we both found a single person who helped us in various ways."

Mira’s ragged breathing slowly calmed down as she heard him adding, “I don't know things about between you and Minoru, but when he was with me, he always told me to never leave…that I should give this relationship a chance. He always thought about us…he wanted us to be together.”

Mira bit her lip, her chin quivering.

Kosuke exhaled a long breath before saying, “His method was wrong but his intentions were right.” Looking at his wife warmly he added, " And even if you never forgive him for what he has done, it won't change the fact that he is our son.”

Mira’s eyes turned moist, tears welling up in them

Kosuke approached his wife and gently wrapped his arms around her.

Soon, the kitchen was filled with the sound of her cries.
