Liam spoke in one single breath and T'Chaka knew that by the end there was no room for discussion. The words of Liam made T'Chaka' face very ugly because he outright threatened him by the end. If it was any other person, even if it was Captain America, he would have taught that person a lesson.
But this man named Liam made a mockery of a monster. Could travel long distances within an instant and even knew about the Talokans, which meant this man knew more about them than they knew about themselves. Hell, he even knew that he had a nephew which he had almost forgotten.
Knowledge was power. Wakanda had always taught them that. It was their knowledge that made their country better and powerful. So Liam knowing more was already dangerous so he need to treat this man very carefully.
T'Chaka slowly placed his tea down, the porcelain clinking gently against the saucer. The room was silent for a beat.
King of Wakanda exhaled deeply and did something unexpected.
He smiled.
"Your words… are strong. And bold," he said. "And they remind me of someone I once knew. A younger version of myself, perhaps. Or maybe someone I hoped my son would become."
Liam said nothing. He just observed the King, letting him speak.
"I did not come here to start a diplomatic incident. Nor did I come with threats or demands. I came because Wakanda has always believed in the strength of dialogue—when it is offered with respect. You are right that the Council did send me here to take back what you taken away but I don't think Wakanda would gain any benefit if we try to force the situation. You have given me your truth. Let me give you mine."
The two Dora Milaje relaxed only a fraction.
"Yes, we worry about the Vibranium. Not because it was taken from a thief, but because it is dangerous in the wrong hands. Klaue showed us what outsiders could do with even a fragment. We have spent generations making sure it would not become a curse upon the world."
"So you thought I might misuse it." Liam asked.
"I thought I might not understand your intentions," T'Chaka corrected gently. "And I still may not. But I do not see a man hungry for power. I see one who has it—and chooses how to wield it."
Ciri had quietly returned to the couch, listening. Fenrir was by her feet, watching everyone with golden eyes.
"Then let me show you what we've done with the Vibranium," Liam offered, standing. "You want transparency? I'll give you proof."
"You would show me your secrets?"
"Only some," Liam replied with a smirk. "You're still a king, not my best friend."
That earned a soft chuckle from T'Chaka. He stood up, motioning for the Dora Milaje to remain calm. Liam gestured for them to follow, walking toward a section of the apartment that looked like a regular hallway—but with a flick of his hand, the walls shimmered, revealing a hidden chamber beyond. Yes, in the last 6 months, Liam had remodeled it.
Inside, the room gleamed with advanced tech, glowing runes, and weapons mounted like art. The centerpiece was the Interceptor armor—sleek, streamlined, almost organic in its build. Tony had upgraded his armor. Though he didn't need it but who would reject a proper mecha.
"This is the Interceptor," Liam said. "Designed with shielding tech, mystic reinforcement, and infused Vibranium mesh. Completely energy-efficient. No lethal weapons unless I need to go up against monsters, the ones which you have seen before."
"There are others like him?" T'Chaka was now sensitive to the words monsters. He wonders what kind of stupid biological experiment would make that and also multiple ones.
"Like that kind which you have seen? Very rare but there are other monsters." Liam replied. This made T'Chaka gulp. Was he that ignorant of the problems of the world? No, this couldn't go on. He would need to infiltrate into countries more deeply.
Starting from knowing about Talokans.
"Impressive… It does not look like a weapon of war." T'Chaka finally said as those actions could be taken later.
"It's not. It's a guardian's armor," Liam said simply. "And honestly I don't even need it. It is more like a decoration and can be used for emergency purposes." T'Chaka didn't question it as he had seen what Liam could do with his bare body alone.
He moved next to a pair of swords laid out across a soft velvet panel.
"These," Liam continued, picking up the twin blades, "belong to Ciri. The steel one is laced with Vibranium, making it nearly unbreakable. The other is a mix of Vibranium and meteorite metal."
"And these?" he asked, pointing at several other swords on the wall.
"Those are mine," Liam said. "Again, mostly for decoration as I used this." Liam showed his staff which levitated at the air for a minute before Liam catching.
"The others were used for armor and swords. They are with others as I am sure you have seen those friends of mine from before." Liam said. T'Chaka was happy that Liam had even showed him which he didn't need to, which seems that Liam didn't have some grand scheme to bring destruction to the world.
Though it was a very minor portion of the Vibranium, it was enough to show his sincerity.
T'Chaka looked around a little bit more and even asked Liam if he could take one swords with him, which Liam agreed as those were common swords he made in his spare time. T'Chaka was thankful and at the end, he promised that Wakanda wouldn't interfere any time and also hoped that in the future they could collaborate together if needed.
There were monsters around. One day he might even face aliens with the things that was going around. Of course this was just a joking theory that came to his mind for a few seconds, only to be tossed away after. But little did he know that his intrusive thoughts would become real in only a couple of months.
