Game Of Thrones: The God-Emperor of Planetosm
Chapter 326 - 327 - The Prelude to Chaos (IV)
"Anarchy has two faces. That of Destroyers and that of Creators. Destroyers tear down empires, and from the wreckage, Creators build Better Worlds." Words of the rebel leader, Charles Marson.
-----
Looking at his grandmother, Aenar smiled contentedly. The woman had a lot of free time and simply joined the Inquisition, as part of the Battle Sisters, becoming the supreme commander of the Imperium's largest armed force of women.
She hunted heretics and acted as a judge in the military court in cases of treason and desertion on the battlefield.
At that moment, Rhaella wore heavy black and red armor, but much less robust than the Astartes and Primarchs. His grandmother simply focused on speed and nothing else, making even Leda, who was renowned for her speed, show admiration.
"My Emperor." Rhaella greeted her grandson with a very happy smile, and although her words sounded formal, the gentle look on her face couldn't have been more informal at that moment.
Looking at the majestic and enormous man before her, Rhaella thought about the precarious situation the Targaryen House was in. Only when Aenar emerged did House Targaryen begin to recover and surpass its peak even in its heyday.
"Mother, I became sloppy after so much time in comfort, I didn't expect these heretics to actually become senators in the Imperial Senate." Daenerys, who was next to Aenar, spoke with an apologetic tone. There was a deep feeling of fury in the queen's eyes.
Visenya and Rhaenys were also present, as was Lyarra, who listened to everything in silence, not daring to breathe slightly louder. It can be said that the entire power core of the Imperium was present in that office.
"You are not to blame, these heretics acted as loyal senators for hundreds of years, it can be said that they administered the Imperium as loyal senators and supporters of our Theocracy." Rhaella did not blame her daughter for becoming sloppy. She knew that these heretics had been loyal senators for hundreds of years, each more cunning than the last.
Unlike everyone present, Aenar was not worried. To maintain youth, all nobles, senators, public officials, and even common soldiers of the Imperium drank from the Elixir of Life.
Elixir that was the basis of his blood, although often diluted, it was still his blood. And taking his blood was not without disadvantages, he could simply end the entire Imperium with just a thought, killing them all in a mere instant.
So, Aenar was not worried about any betrayal, as everything was under his control from the beginning. Anyone who wished ill upon the Imperium would first have to think of a way to escape his control, which was impossible, at least by the standards of all races in the universe except one particular race.
Of course, the chaos gods could do something like that, but Aenar would sense and kill the person the chaos gods were interested in. Besides, the chaos gods would not be interested in small humans with only a little power.
The Chaos Gods were more interested in corrupting beings with great powers, rather than beings with little power. The reason for this was simple: because it was more fun to bring everyone's hope to the dark side of the universe.
It might seem more advantageous to corrupt marginalized figures, but there was no logic through the thoughts and desires of the Chaos Gods, only the purest feeling of fun and insanity.
"I will be present at this session of the Imperial Senate, I will punish the heretics before everyone." Aenar said, surprising everyone. It had been almost three hundred years since Aenar personally participated in a session of the Imperial Senate. Naerys was always in his place as a representative in the senate.
Daenerys and the other women nodded their heads, returning to calm. Daenerys, in particular, looked at Aenar with a touch of guilt. She felt she had failed in her only role.
Aenar was incredibly busy, but because of her, he had to work even harder, which left the queen with a feeling of guilt and shame. She couldn't even look directly into Aenar's eyes.
Visenya and Rhaenys exchanged glances and smiled. It had really been a long time since Daenerys had shown an expression like that. They seemed to see the young Daenerys again.
The Emperor looked at Daenerys and smiled gently. He wanted to reprimand Daenerys for being so emotional about something so trivial, but he couldn't say anything looking into her beautiful eyes. "Don't treat me like glass, easily broken, I can work for my family."
Of course, Daenerys knew this, but she simply didn't want to give Aenar more work, who was already overwhelmed with duties and responsibilities, especially being the beacon that guides all of humanity's ships through the Warp.
"By the way, this is Lyarra, she will be the cupbearer for some time before joining the Senate as a senator, occupying the seat of House Stark in place of Duke Stark." Aenar said, pointing to the silent Lyarra, who had been silent until then. He wanted to change the subject or Daenerys would blame herself even more.
"My queens." Lyarra stood up and greeted all the women with graceful and elegant actions. There was a perfectly polished smile on the lips of the future Duchess of House Stark.
"My husband always had a good eye for talent, I hope you don't disappoint his expectations for you." Daenerys was very confident in this talented and ambitious girl.
"What a lovely girl." Visenya said with a smile, although she had already seen the girl during Daenerys's birthday party, she had not met her personally. Seeing that the girl actually managed to become a cupbearer with Aenar's help showed that she had talent and ambition.
"Come eat with me anytime, they are great friends of your grandmother." Rhaenys said with a laugh.
The three women extended their hands to Lyarra, wanting to bring the girl into their own factions. The daughter of House Stark naturally noticed this, but feared that by accepting one side, she would offend the other two sides. This was terrible, as offending two of the three queens was absolutely terrible.
As if noticing the girl's thoughts, Aenar laughed and advised her in a calm tone. "You don't have to worry about offending my other wives by choosing one of them, this faction struggle is merely to make the court operate normally. My three wives are more united than twin siblings."
Lyarra breathed a sigh of relief, but without any hesitation, she looked at Visenya and nodded her head. Since she was on Alysanne's side, it was more than natural for her to accept Visenya's protection.
Seeing this, the queen looked at Daenerys and Rhaenys with a satisfied smile. As if saying, look how amazing I am. Which naturally made the two women roll their eyes at their sister/aunt's childishness.
Visenya ignored the looks of her sisters/niece and focused on Lyarra, she took out a golden dragon-shaped brooch and placed it above Lyarra's chest. It was the symbol of her faction. Daenerys's symbol was a black dragon while Rhaenys's symbol was a silver dragon.
Looking at the golden dragon brooch, Lyarra's lips curved into a smile. She loved nepotism. While the descendants of nobles would be in the Imperial Officer School to gain public office or to become senators, she had already entered the imperial senate and advanced a great distance in politics.
"Daenerys, start the Imperial Senate session earlier. Let's not delay and give these rats a chance to escape when they discover something is wrong. Also, don't announce my arrival, make them think that because of the newly discovered race, the imperial senate started earlier than usual." Aenar spoke in a calm tone. He didn't want to alert the rats, making them flee and spread throughout the universe.
Daenerys nodded with a cold and murderous expression. She would make these audacious heretics see what the most terrifying torture in the universe was. For she would personally torture these people.
"Mother, send me a list of the heretics." Daenerys said to Rhaella, who nodded her head, noting that her daughter was determined to exterminate the rats. She felt a little pity for these men and women.
After all, the traitorous senators were from Daenerys's faction, they were under her nose the whole time.
Such a great security flaw could end a person's political career, but since it was Daenerys, no one dared to even criticize the queen.
The fear, reverence, and submission to the Three Queens and the Emperor were so deeply rooted in people that even if Daenerys killed people for no reason, these people would think it was normal for Daenerys to kill and their own brains would create an acceptable reason.
This was a terrible thing about Theology; whoever was at the top was practically untouchable, not even the highest echelons of the Imperium could do anything to harm Daenerys because of her mistakes.
It was easier for this senator to be lynched by the populace for daring to slander the Queen than anything else.
