CHAPTER 156: A LABYRINTH-LIKE DUNGEON

A Saint.

’Wow... that’s impressive.’

Even they have no idea of all a saint’s capabilities. They know that they have absurd power and can wield it over the world very easily, but although there are many Saints worldwide, none have revealed anything regarding their real capabilities.

"Would you like me to investigate, sir?" Mr. Cat asked.

"Hahaha, of course. I don’t know what that old saint wants to do, but he seemed very interested in it. Be careful when you move."

Upon visiting Andrew, Elliot confirmed that he had achieved Master Rank and had recently made many weapons for his summonings. He had not commissioned them, but many of those were very useful.

He could arm all of them, except the tank, because of its class quirk.

After also visiting Chris and Rich, who were still good friends as always, Steward arranged to go to that D-Rank Dungeon that had recently appeared, the Basilisk Dungeon.

The five principals were going to go.

Since it was a dungeon that had not been cleared before, the terrain was unfamiliar to them, so when they entered, they were surprised to see it.

It was an open world.

"A mountainous area..." Elliot frowned at the sight. "This is dangerous."

"Yes, there may be poisonous snakes that aren’t part of the dungeon." Andrew added. "Besides, it’s a Basilisk; they almost always have snakes around."

Just then, Jenna nodded. "Yes. And they’re very poisonous." She said, tossing two 3-foot-long snakes to the ground.

"Fast as ever." Rich was stunned at the sight. He hadn’t even noticed them.

Just then, Elliot’s sword passed in front of him and fell to the ground. A strange little scream emerged from the ground, right next to Rich’s leg.

"Be careful, they are very stealthy and can camouflage themselves." Elliot grabbed his sword back.

They had appeared at the top of a mountain, allowing them to see almost the entire dungeon.

"This is a maze... Shit, what an annoying thing." Elliot complained.

"Haha... It’s been a long time since a maze with snakes had appeared among the D-Rank dungeons." Andrew chuckled.

"I see beasts and mountains too. Also, what’s that, ice and fire?" Elliot frowned, looking between the mountains near the maze.

"There’s a pattern." Jenna said suddenly. "On one side, there are icy mountains, and on the other side, there are mountains with lots and lots of lava. It must be very hot and cold on each side."

"Lava? So there are volcanoes here?" Elliot shuddered. "Could they erupt?"

"Probably. But this couldn’t have formed naturally. I’m sure." Jenna said.

"An artificial dungeon?"

"Yes. It looks like this dungeon will be a bit complicated."

"Sigh. Well, easy things are sometimes boring." Elliot started walking forward and summoned his summons.

"Oh? You have new summons, Elliot?" Rich asked, curious to see the two new ones.

"Yes, and I came here to get a new one."

"Are you planning on getting the Basilisk?" Rich ran to his side.

"We’ll need more than these summons to win the Leveled Leagues."

"Quite right, Elliot. Don’t worry, I’ll try my best to be more useful than your summons so we can win." Rich joked a little, but then a terrifying chill hit his body.

He was forced to close his mouth, and the cold even crept up his throat, and he quickly froze it.

"W-What the hell is this?" he grumbled through his teeth and looked.

They had just entered an area where the cold was pervasive. Snow was everywhere, and an extremely cold breeze slammed against them.

Everyone frowned. "These are several degrees below zero..." Even Elliot had a hard time talking.

He had to pull out several coats and extra clothes to put them on; he couldn’t stand it.

And even with numerous specialized clothing items to withstand the cold, it was difficult to move around.

In addition, the falling snow made it difficult for them to look ahead.

"Will we feel this inside the labyrinth? Whoever did this is a sick fuck..." Chris exclaimed, but his teeth froze as he opened his mouth so wide.

’Shit.’ He groaned inwardly.

Still, they continued ahead. They made their way down the mountain, and after a while, they managed to get close to the labyrinth.

"At the entrance of the labyrinth, there is no snow. It looks like it’s the heat part."

"Anything but this... No way can I." Rich complained, shivering. The only good thing about the ice was that there were no snakes.

Suddenly, they made it to the beginning of the labyrinth.

The cold disappeared.

But something more terrifying came.

The unbearable heat.

"What the hell is this?"

All the cold they were feeling suddenly turned into absurd heat. From several degrees below zero to tens of degrees above zero in an instant.

This even made them dizzy, and they stepped wrong. Some fell and realized how terrifying the heat was.

It was worse than the cold.

The ground burned them. If it weren’t for the fact that they had a lot of clothes on, their skin would have possibly scorched in moments.

They quickly got up and took off all their clothes.

"Who was the sick person who did this?" Rich shouted, but he had not yet seen the worst.

Suddenly, some strange creatures of small and medium height jumped out of the lava flowing to one side of them.

They were full of lava, and it jumped out at them.

’Are there beasts in the lava too?’

The alarms in Elliot’s body went off, and Jenna was also extremely quick to move.

She was the first to strike, while Elliot’s summons followed.

At the same time, Elliot jumped to the other side and slashed the heads of several.

"They’re not very strong, but..." He looked down at his hand. He had felt a lot of heat just from running his hand near this bug.

He looked behind them and shouted, "Be careful, they’re extremely hot! Don’t melee with their bodies!"

His companions quickly nodded, understanding what he meant. So, they fought.

But soon they fell to the ground.

Luckily, they used the weapons as steps to kneel or step on.

"Shit, that’s hot."

Elliot chuckled. He walked over and helped Jenna to her feet. She was feeling pretty hot too, hotter than she thought she might feel.

Rich looked at him. "Elliot, don’t you feel the heat? Are you sick or have you gone crazy?" He asked, quizzically.

"Hahaha, I had to go through terrible workouts before. This heat is okay, but nothing compared to what they put me through."

"Oh?" Even Jenna and Andrew were surprised.

"What kind of crazy training did they put you through? I barely touched fire..."

"Hahaha, you’ll get used to it eventually. Don’t worry; in the fire zone, I’ll take care of everything, " he said.

They soon resumed their journey. Elliot surrounded everyone with his summons, which naturally felt no heat.

At the same time, he put away his swords and put bandages on his hands.

"You’re not planning to fight those things with your hands, right?" Chris and Rich asked from the side.

"That’s just what I’m thinking." Elliot replied with a demonstration. He ran as he saw two others come out of the lava and took a swing at each of them.

The power was tremendous, shattering their heads.

"Pretty hot." Elliot said as he returned.

The people behind him looked at him open-mouthed.
