Game World's Awakening
Chapter 165: Her hidden potential
CHAPTER 165: HER HIDDEN POTENTIAL
He lifted one of the vials and stirred it slightly. After staring at it momentarily, his eyes revealed to him the compounds it was made of and even a bit of the process followed to create it.
Then he smiled and looked at Jenna.
"It’s ready." He said and sat down across from her.
"A potion?" she asked. He nodded at her and put the vial in the middle.
"I called you here to give you this potion. But before you take it, I will explain its usefulness."
"It’s not curative, is it? It looks a little different." She grabbed it and looked at the contents inside, which were a bit thick and seemed to contain some shiny things.
"It’s called an Essence Potion. And it’s what will allow me to use my new Talent: The Awakener." He spoke.
"New Talent?" She frowned. "Now that I remember, you told me something about your Class giving you Talents."
"Yes. One of them is called The Awakener, and it’s the one I’m going to use now. It is a Talent that lets me see and awaken the Hidden Talent within the Hidden Essence of every living thing."
"Awaken?" She was surprised. "You mean you can help others awaken their ability?"
"Yes. But more than that, to the Awakened I can give them a second awakening."
"A second awakening?!" She stood up in shock. "Really?"
"I’m sure." He said and sat down beside her. "Making these potions costs a lot of money, and I can’t pass it on; only I can make it because it’s part of my Talent."
"And how do you do to awaken it? Do I have to drink this potion?" she asked quickly. Although she was surprised, seeing the potion in front of her made her want to take it somehow.
Elliot smiled. "Do you trust me?" asked.
She glared at him. "Of course." replied.
"Okay. You just have to take it and then look me straight in the eye. I’ll take care of the rest. I promise you that after this, your talent will grow."
She didn’t hesitate. She grabbed the potion and took it straight without wasting any time.
The liquid felt strange going down her throat, for this one was quite a bit thicker than normal. Still, it didn’t taste as bad as it looked.
After drinking it, she began to feel a little dizzy. Then Elliot made her look him in the eye.
Immediately, he activated his talent.
[The Awakener has been activated.]
Then he looked intensely into her. Suddenly, he seemed to find himself in a completely dark world on all sides, walking on a grayish floor.
It was his mind that had traveled here, and suddenly, behind him, emerged a strange, powerful energy whose colors were easily identifiable.
It was the Potion.
All the liquid had been transformed into energy.
He immediately knew what he should do. Guide this to the right place.
He walked on the grayish ground for a long while until he found a strange dark ball that seemed to have a sword through it. From this emerged all the darkness above.
It was quite small.
’The core of her power.’ He thought.
Behind him, energy was rushing in at great speed, gathering like a tsunami in a single wave.
It was so powerful that it seemed to want to swallow everything in its path.
Elliot stood on the black ball’s other side and focused all his attention on that tsunami. Suddenly, it struck.
Even though it was much larger than the black ball, all the energy went into it with force and was not wasted even a little bit.
At that moment, Elliot could see inside the black ball.
With so much energy churning, it seemed to want to explode, and it was churning hard, making Jenna feel a little pain.
The dark magic inside Jenna’s body exploded outward as a ball of energy surrounded her.
Inside, Elliot was seeing something amazing.
The Hidden Talent.
An amazing ability.
He saw as if Jenna’s darkness enveloped the mountains, the seas... the earth, the sun... Everything seemed to disappear before her darkness. He could see as if something astonishingly terrifying rose from the depths of that darkness, but then...
Everything exploded and was reduced to black blobs scattered like islands on a huge magical ocean with dark energy.
These islands slowly seemed to be coming together, but it was slow. A process that could take years.
The former grayish ground had disappeared, and in its place was the magical ocean. The sky above was completely black; now, thanks to the dark magic ocean, it was also all black. But it seemed that all of it should form the same sculpture.
It seemed that there should not be that dark magic ocean, but rather pure blackness.
The previous black ball had disappeared; all of it had transformed into all these scattered islands.
And on one of them, the largest one, rested the sword he had seen before, stuck in the ground.
Even though he couldn’t see anything, not the name or anything, his eyes gave him information about all this.
It had evolved. It’s new name was...
"Elliot, you really did it!" exclaimed Jenna joyfully, bringing Elliot back to his senses.
She had jumped, as extreme joy crossed her mind, eyes, heart, and her entire body.
In front of her was a system status window, telling her a fantastic thing.
[You have been blessed by the Monarch of Energy, and his Talent, "The Awakener," has touched you. Congratulations, you have evolved.]
"Haha, how are you doing? Do you like what you see?" he asked, smiling.
She nodded quickly and sat down next to him to tell him everything.
"My skill used to be called Dark Sword, remember?"
"That’s right."
"Haha, well now it’s called Dark Master!" she exclaimed and began to explain without wasting any time.
Now, yes, her ability confirmed to them that she was using Dark Magic, but her magic was special.
First, the primary aspect of this ability is her and Elliot’s shadow. It explicitly told her that she could move through her shadow, Elliot’s shadow, and anything that is considered a "lifeless shadow."
Not only can she move, but she can also teleport through her own shadow. To do that, she must grow it. And to make it grow, she must feed it with beasts.
Now, something shocking is that her Shadow has the ability to be Dark Magic itself, can Curse, and a slight "Death" attribute.
Although very mild, she can cause illness, pains, and punctures in key places by using her shadow as a transmitter of her Dark Magic.
In addition to that, she can also use her Sword in the same way as before. That part did not change or evolve. It gives her great mastery of the sword.
But whatever the Sword Mastery—yes, it was amazing—she was also gaining great magical mastery and absurd abilities.
As she recounted all this, Elliot maintained a smile. He had seen it before.
But he was more amazed by something else.
Jenna’s true hidden talent...is far more amazing. It will come to light when all those islands come together in one place and the magical ocean disappears.
He wouldn’t tell her; he would wait for that time.
They talked for a while longer, and Jenna gave him several demonstrations of her new ability. They agreed that she wouldn’t use it this time because drawing so much attention to herself wasn’t good. She would leave it for use when she was stronger or in a life-and-death crisis.
One thing intrigued Elliot: the fact that he couldn’t see Jenna’s soul.
Inside his summons, he could see its soul and understand its secrets, but in her he could not.
Why?
He could not receive any answer, so he decided not to think about nonsense.
Elliot then wanted to test it with his summons.
For that, he decided to test it with his Basilisk first.
He first checked that it it go through the process, and then the class it had received.
Then somehow he gave him the potion.
He was worried for a moment - would it, without being a living thing, be able to process the potion? But he quickly realized that it didn’t need to be processed by a stomach or anything like that.
It would transform into energy and attack the place designated for its attack, i.e., the inside.
The insides of all his invocations were the same, with a few minor differences.
The soul and form were identical to their shape. For example, the rat was missing an ear, etc.
In this case, it was a basilisk. It was similarly imprisoned with large chains, which restricted its emotions and power.
He stared at it, trying to scrutinize it. It had many desires within it.
Admiration, wanting to talk, wanting to jump, wanting to protect. It wanted to fight. It wanted to feel the grandeur of a battle.
It longed to stand in front of an army and fight them all.
Apparently, this summon had a great desire to battle.
The question was, what would change if he put it through the awakening process? Would its desires change? Would it be able to talk?
