Game World's Awakening
Chapter 174: First time using this strategy
CHAPTER 174: FIRST TIME USING THIS STRATEGY
Personifications were a special type of guild in the entire world; there aren’t many clans like them, so there is little research on how to deal with them.
Fortunately, they are not that talented in terms of power, so in terms of pure strength, Angelic Wave is well above them.
The problem was that there were 10 of them.
While Elliot’s nine summons gave them a numerical advantage, there are several summons that are completely useless against these people. Whether it’s the Rat, the Berserker, or others.
They are too low-level to withstand them, as was seen against the House of Fire. The way the Rat could only withstand one attack from that Archer proved it, even though that guy had above-average strength in the tournament.
Therefore, it is possible that even with the summons, they are at a certain disadvantage.
Of course, that’s without adding Elliot’s last two summons. That basilisk alone can withstand too much, more than anyone expects, not to mention the Raven.
He can render illusionists useless, and in part, Personifications are Illusionists. So if he decided to use it, it would be enough to win.
Now, that was the problem. How could he use it in front of thousands of people live and millions watching the broadcast?
In fact, if he wanted to avoid exposing his cards too much, using the Raven was a good option at the moment.
Fighting against 10 Masters was not easy, even when they were not very powerful within the rank. He would surely need to summon his basilisk, which was not ideal in the group stage.
There was still a knockout stage to come, where the bigger the surprise, the better.
The problem is that both the Basilisk and the Raven are indispensable for that, not to mention Jenna’s new Class, which must remain hidden.
’I could give the potion to Andrew. Maybe he could become significantly stronger,’ he thought.
It was an option, but giving it to him at this point, when it was only the third battle, was not a good idea. It was too early, and hiding two incredibly talented people in the same group was difficult.
So he had to think of another option.
As he listened attentively to Steward and the teachers talking, he frowned and looked at Jenna.
He approached her and whispered a few things.
She nodded. "It’s possible," replied.
His eyes sparkled.
"If that’s possible, then this is a done deal," he said and stood up.
"Mr. Steward, Jenna, and I can win without revealing anything other than our supremacy over them. We’ll only need one thing."
Steward stopped explaining and looked at him curiously. "What do you need? Do you really have a way to do it?"
"If you trust us, then we just need all of you to follow our orders. When I say ’attack,’ you attack. If I haven’t said anything, no one moves," he declared confidently.
Then he added, "Besides, we’ll go with Chris and Rich."
Steward was already thinking that Chris and Rich wouldn’t be able to play in the next match, as he honestly didn’t have much confidence in them. Not because they were weak, which they were, but because of their mentality, especially Chris, who broke down very easily.
And since they would face a dangerous guild, they naturally had to use their two new trump cards: The Twins.
"Are you sure?" He was stunned by Elliot’s declaration, but Elliot replied with complete confidence.
"I’m completely sure."
"Mr. Steward, the capabilities of the two of us are greater than you think. Trust us, and we’ll prove it to you." Although she had no idea what Elliot was planning, her trust in him made her believe what he said almost blindly.
Seeing them so confident, Steward was filled with confidence. "Can you tell me what you’re going to use? Or do you plan to keep it under wraps for now?"
"You’ll see for yourself, Mr. Steward."
"Tsk." Steward smiled and nodded to them. "Fine. Then I’ll trust you and see the results."
--
That same night, they traveled to Xhortz City.
The next morning, the city was crowded with people.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t do any sightseeing, as they had come to rest and had to go prepare for the local combat arena as soon as they woke up.
When they arrived, they realized that they had more fans than they thought. Lots of people were wearing the guild’s clothing, with their names printed on it, and banners celebrating them.
The bets were naturally placed quickly. On one side was Angelic Wave, the team that had proven to be the most dominant in the first two games.
On the other side was Personifications, a team that could always surprise. It was currently 1-1 after beating Broken Leaf yesterday and losing on the first day against the Elemental Academy.
The bets were divided, and it was difficult to know who would win. But Personifications was the home team; not only did they have a larger number of fans in attendance, but those fans also placed bets, quickly tipping the betting scales in their favor.
And the battle began immediately.
Soon, the five members of both guilds were face-to-face, ready for combat.
The Personifications members immediately activated their magic. They weren’t going to underestimate such a strong opponent.
Soon, five identical figures were created from them, as if by some kind of ninja magic or something similar. These figures were made with magic but maintained the same power level as their main bodies.
All of them were at the Master Rank.
As expected, this was quite difficult to deal with simply with a group of five, so Elliot had to admit that the Elemental Academy was quite powerful.
Even so, he simply smiled.
Soon, the battle had begun, and everyone had their weapons out.
Elliot then summoned several of his summons, placing them in the arena.
The rat. The Orc Mage, the Orc Warrior. The berserker and the goblin. His standard summons.
Suddenly, both he and Jenna rushed forward. Jenna jumped high into the air, while Elliot raised his hand.
Suddenly, that black sword materialized from Jenna’s hand, but it seemed to grow incredibly in several directions, quickly covering the lightning.
This physically exhausted her, but then Elliot made his move.
One that no one saw.
But those in the arena seemed to perceive it strangely.
Suddenly, a different darkness emerged from every corner and immediately surrounded the entire combat arena. No one saw Jenna fall to the ground, incredibly exhausted after that. Nor did they hear Elliot’s next shout:
"Attack!"
It was an intense roar that caused every member of his team to powerfully rush forward to attack their rivals in less than a second.
They had no idea about the strategy. They also didn’t know what Elliot had done, but everything was darkened around them, but they could see.
They had no idea if they could win, but they didn’t hesitate to attack as he had said.
Elliot also attacked. The only one who didn’t was Jenna, as she was quite injured after doing that.
Soon, one of Elliot’s abilities was deactivated.
[Darkness Unleashed has been deactivated]
But it didn’t matter.
His raven’s ability indicated that Darkness Unleashed lasted 2-4 seconds. That is, the ability to put them in the Room of Darkness.
The Room of Darkness did not have a set time limit within those 4 seconds, which meant it lasted longer.
Five seconds later, Deceit and Deception deactivated too.
This caused the members of Personifications to return to themselves. In shock, returning to a reality different from the one they had experienced for 5 seconds, they tried to attack, but Angelic Wave’s onslaught was brutal.
It didn’t matter if Deceit and Deception were no longer active. That was just an illusory ability; he only needed to use it to get close and weaken them.
Several copies were already out when the members of Personifications reacted, and in the end, they all ended up on the ground, in shock.
They still didn’t understand what had happened.
Had they just been victims of an illusion? Who the hell can cast illusions on the opposing team?
And such a powerful one at that!
Although they sensed something strange about the attack, they couldn’t figure out what it was.
What had happened?
Honestly, they had no idea.
The only thing they understood right now...
Were the system messages.
[Angelic Wave has won the battle.]
A battle that seemed very quick had actually lasted more than a minute. Even so...
That was too short when facing such a strong group.
[Angelic Wave has completed the Second Match with the youngest team. They have been crowned the best Young Generation in the Leveled Leagues of the entire National Territory of the Kingdom of Arce.]
[The reward will be given to them at the end of the Leveled Leagues, regardless of whether they win or not.]
[Their battles have been verified and certified as true by the System.]
