Gynecological Saint Hand? What are you trying to do?

Miss Chai was utterly bewildered, but she couldn't just stand there doing nothing; that would undermine Wei Yueyan's prestige. So, she turned around and asked in a stern, deep voice, "Which one of you is the Gynecological Saint Hand?"

The crowd exchanged bewildered glances, but no one spoke up.

Suddenly, the Knife Ghost Queen's front legs buckled, and her massive body almost collapsed. She quickly stabbed two hand-knives into the road surface for support and managed to stand back up.

Her swollen abdomen began to undulate continuously. Murky blood oozed from the gaps in the Bone Armor at the front of her waist, and her broad back spasmed and twitched like waves.

The Knife-driven Ghosts surrounding the crowd grew restless. These Deformed Monsters, slightly shorter than ordinary people, kept knocking their Long Knives against the ground, emitting low, threatening growls.

"SCREEECH—"

The Knife Ghost Queen threw her head back and shrieked at the sky, stilling her subordinates' agitation. She lowered her head, lifted her door-panel-sized Bone Knife, pointed at the crowd, and then at her swollen abdomen.

The message was clear: she was about to give birth and needed help.

Miss Chai, standing at the front of the group, took a deep breath. Following the subtitles Li Ang projected, she read to the crowd, "Then what about doctors from other departments?"

Still, no one responded. After a long pause, Li Ang hesitantly raised his hand, his voice quivering, "I..."

"You?"

Wei Linglan's parents were somewhat surprised. "Young Xu, aren't you a photographer?"

With a wry smile, Li Ang replied, "I graduated from medical school with a five-year degree in clinical medicine. An incident prevented me from pursuing graduate studies, so I switched careers and became a photographer."

Given the urgency of the situation, and not being in a position as his prospective parents-in-law to press him about the 'incident,' they could only watch as Li Ang stepped out from the group and approached Miss Chai.

"What do you need me to do?" Li Ang asked nervously, rubbing his hands together.

"Heh, don't worry, it's not a very difficult task." Miss Chai snorted coldly. Following the script, she tilted her chin towards the Knife Ghost Queen. "Look at her abdomen—it's swollen and has dropped, she's having contractions, her water has broken, and her back is spasming regularly. It's obvious she's about to give birth. If you know anything about gynecology, get up there and help her deliver."

"What?"

Li Ang looked horrified. "I haven't performed surgery in years! Besides, delivering... a Monster?"

"Why can't a Monster give birth? Huh?" Miss Chai's brow furrowed as she scolded, "Just do as you're told. Enough with the questions!"

"Yes, yes, yes."

Li Ang nodded vigorously. Under Miss Chai's direction, he took a flashlight and headed to the side of the road, preparing to retrieve tools from the ambulance.

To prevent the Knife-driven Ghosts on either side of the road from attacking, Wei Linglan also followed, grenade launcher in hand.

While prying open the back doors of the ambulance, Wei Linglan said apologetically to Li Ang, "I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

"It's fine. 'Money for services rendered' is my motto." Li Ang shook his head, managing a faint smile as he retrieved disposable gloves, a trauma pack, a portable suction device, suction catheters, and a medical kit from the ambulance.

Watching him bustle about, Wei Linglan, standing outside the vehicle, pursed her lips and asked, "By the way, you're a high school student, right? Do you really know how to deliver a baby?"

"It's a hobby of mine," Li Ang explained vaguely. "I used to enjoy reading all sorts of miscellaneous books. After reading so many, I picked up a bit about these strange things. Things like postpartum care for sows, lawn cleaning, silkworm breeding, police dog training, and the like. I can't say I'm an expert; I only have a half-baked understanding. The body structure of a Monster... shouldn't be too different from a pig's... right?"

"..."

Wei Linglan blinked, a sudden feeling washing over her that this mission might be a one-way trip.

Seeing her nervousness, Li Ang comforted her, "Don't worry. When I performed gastric bypass surgery on Big Yellow from downstairs, my hands moved so fast you could only see afterimages. Everyone respectfully called me the 'Master of the Shadow Stream'."

"...You performed gastric bypass surgery on a dog?" Wei Linglan's expression twisted.

Li Ang looked even more baffled. "Who said Big Yellow is a dog?"

Wei Linglan shook her head, pushing aside her jumbled thoughts. She whispered to Li Ang, "If things get dangerous later, you and Shan Shan must stay close to me. I'll do everything I can to get us out."

"Understood."

Li Ang nodded, donning an emergency responder's protective suit and mask. He loaded all the medical tools onto a stretcher sheet and jumped down from the back of the ambulance.

The two returned to their original spot under the cold stares of the Knife-driven Ghost pack. The Knife Ghost Queen's condition had deteriorated further. Her wails were weak, her legs had completely given out, and her body tilted to one side, relying entirely on her two Bone Knives to support her weight. Her swollen abdomen resembled an overinflated water balloon, with blood continuously seeping from the gaps in her Bone Armor.

The situation was critical. Li Ang put on disposable gloves, held up his hands, and slowly approached.

The Knife Ghost Queen instinctively twitched her Bone Knife arm. The surrounding Monsters howled and were about to charge, but luckily the Queen shot them a look, halting their advance.

The horde of Knife-driven Ghosts stood restlessly, constantly striking the ground with the tips of their knives, as if chanting, "Let her give birth! Let her give birth!"

Hearing the crowd's cries, Li Ang exhaled slowly, approached, and lifted the Bone Armor to assess the situation.

"The fetus is too large and in an abnormal position, causing a difficult birth." Li Ang turned his head and calmly told Chai Cuiqiao and Wei Linglan, "Prepare for a C-section."

"What?!"

The two women were astonished. Wasn't this supposed to be a scenario about fighting Monsters and leveling up, not helping a Monster with a C-section? This didn't fit the style at all.

Li Ang didn't bother explaining further. He instructed them to spread a sterile sheet on the ground and then had them help lay the Knife Ghost Queen supine on it.

Unsure of her exact physiology, Li Ang directly administered an elephant-sized dose of anesthetic. Once it took effect, he cut through her skin and muscle.

The Knife-driven Ghost's anatomy wasn't fundamentally different from a human's, though it possessed some bizarre additional organs. If outsiders hadn't been present, Li Ang, driven by his spirit of prioritizing scientific research, would likely have taken out his camera, hit the record button, and started filming the procedure.

After the C-section, the fetus inside was also a female Knife-driven Ghost. Though only an infant, her forehead was less prominent, and her arms and legs had not yet fully morphed into Bone Knives. She was curled up in the amniotic sac, resembling a small Tiger.

Unfazed, Li Ang pierced the amniotic membrane, cleaned off the amniotic fluid, cradled the Knife-driven Ghost infant's head, pulled her out, and held her upside down to make her retch and expel the remaining mucus from her mouth.

You had to admit, Monsters were Monsters; the newborn Knife-driven Ghost infant already displayed a savage ferocity. Even while Li Ang held her upside down, her sharp limbs flailed unconsciously, nearly slashing him.

"This big baby is quite strong," Li Ang couldn't help but praise. "She's lucky too, getting a Yin City household registration right after birth."

Wei Linglan said dryly, "For her... household registration isn't important, is it?"

"Nonsense. Household registration is very important," Li Ang said solemnly. "Back when the Goddess of Child Delivery was air-dropping babies worldwide, my own landing spot wasn't well-chosen. Thinking back, I really regret it."

"..."

Wei Linglan smacked her lips. "Cut the umbilical cord."

Li Ang nodded, picked up the scissors, and snipped the umbilical cord. He placed the newborn Knife-driven Ghost on the sterile sheet, removed the placenta, and quickly sutured the seven or eight layers of the incision.

A moment later, the anesthetic wore off. The Knife Ghost Queen shakily got to her feet, the incision on her abdomen healing at a visibly rapid pace. The large infant at her feet, meanwhile, climbed up her mother's legs and onto her back.

"Mother and child are safe," Li Ang declared with a satisfied nod. "It's a good thing I didn't sever an artery this time. Otherwise, I'd have to go buy a bottle of Pulse to get the 'pulse' back in that artery. Ah, poor Big Yellow. I hope he's happy now. Eating well, drinking well, and not letting things get to him."

So what exactly did you do to Big Yellow?!?!
