Genius Noble With System
Chapter 429: Angel Guards
CHAPTER 429: ANGEL GUARDS
They continued to move through the land and eventually faced some troubles, but nothing serious happened except some void god or true god level of threat, which the group handled easily.
Finally, after hours of careful advance, the scenery shifted.
A vast field of ruins unfolded before them.
Broken temples and collapsed towers lay scattered across a devastated expanse, their once-divine grandeur reduced to rubble. Among the shattered foundations glimmered countless fragments of divine artifacts—splintered blades, fractured armour, and shattered rings and talismans. The residue of unimaginable power still radiated from them, even in ruin.
For a moment, it was as if every warrior present had forgotten to breathe.
Even damaged, such artifacts held great value. Melted down and reforged, they could become powerful new treasures—perhaps even lifesaving miracles in the future.
Eyes gleamed. Hearts burnt.
But none reached for them.
Not yet.
The pride of geniuses would not allow them to scramble like beggars before a crowd. Still, Apollo easily sensed what they all secretly planned... ’Take what you can—when others are not looking.’
He let out a quiet breath, amused.
Lucifer, still calm and confident, raised a hand.
"We press deeper. These scraps aren’t our goal."
His words were arrogant, but no one disagreed. The real treasures of the God Ruins were yet to reveal themselves.
Apollo’s gaze swept the ruins once more. He carefully felt the mysterious power in this ruined land.
It was different from before; here he felt some distortion of countless rules as they were completely messed with one another. He can only guess some terrifying war had taken place here in previous eras, yet still the lingering power of rules still remains.
He felt due to distortion in rules it was difficult for the eternal god realm and above warriors to fully use their strength. This makes him more alert; he has a feeling trouble is coming soon.
At that moment, the late-stage Eternal God elder travelling with them halted, his gaze locked onto a seemingly unremarkable patch of emptiness.
"Here it is," he muttered under his breath.
Lucifer immediately raised his hand, and the entire group halted behind him.
He scanned the desolate land, frowning slightly.
"Is it truly this place? I don’t see anything."
His voice carried both puzzlement and expectation.
Apollo narrowed his eyes. He couldn’t see anything either, but he felt something. It was a power distortion that felt like it suppressed the power of rules to a terrifying degree.
But they didn’t have to wait much, as the land beneath them started to tremble.
"What?"
This sudden change surprised them, as their power was almost suppressed, and even laws and rules seemed to have weakened many times, making them vulnerable.
BOOM!!!
A gauntleted hand shot up from the cracked earth, tearing through stone and soil like fragile glass.
Then another.
And another.
One by one, towering figures pulled themselves free from underground, shaking dust from shining armour.
Golden. Lustrous. Radiating the calm, suffocating aura of ancient judgement.
And behind them—wings unfurled. Metallic feathers gleamed with divine patterns, cold and sacred.
Hundreds of golden-armoured warriors stood reborn before the group, silent yet oppressive like statues built to kill.
Their empty helms turned in unison—locking onto Lucifer’s group.
Apollo’s breath stilled. It was clear they weren’t some beast or something else; they were clearly related to the angels, maybe guardians of angels.
All of their auras were terrifying; every single one of them seemed to have reached the peak of the true god realm, and with their sacred and holy aura, their strength might be more than that.
Boom!
A crushing force descended upon the land, resembling an unseen mountain. Their combined presence exceeded the limits of the True God Realm entirely; even those standing in the Eternal God Realm felt their bones creak under the overwhelming pressure. Instinctively, everyone tensed—hearts pounding, hands tightening on their weapons.
Yet among those from the Sacred Light Empire, there was no fear.
Lucifer and his kin trembled with a different emotion altogether—excitement. Their eyes glittered like zealots staring at a long-awaited prophecy.
"Haha... it’s really here!"
"We found it! We’ll finally obtain it!"
Their whispers carried feverish devotion, as if the arrival of these divine warriors was not a threat... but a promised salvation.
"Quick, prince, take out the key." Eternal god realm elder quickly urged.
"Yes!"
Lucifer quickly took out a small feather that seemed to be partially shining golden but seemed to have lost its lustre.
The guardian angels raised their weapons, divine power accumulating like a storm about to break. In desperation, Lucifer thrust the feather forward.
"Stop!" he commanded.
For a heartbeat, the golden-armoured warriors seemed to halt—wings flaring, spears frozen mid-air.
A spark of hope lit Lucifer’s eyes—but it shattered instantly.
With a thunderous roar of divine might, the angels surged forth again, hostility even fiercer than before.
"What—?"
Lucifer’s complexion paled. His hand trembled as he held the feather tighter.
"I said stop! STOP!"
His voice cracked with panic, but the angels remained unmoved—unyielding judgement descending upon them like divine wrath.
"Fuck, why didn’t it work?" He roared, but they didn’t have time to wait, and hundreds of terrifying guardian angels attacked them altogether.
Boom! Bang! Boom!
"Everybody defend themselves and prepare for battle."
The battlefield erupted into chaos. Divine light slashed across the ruins as the group struggled under the overwhelming pressure. Everyone quickly tried their best this time, as the enemy was terrifying.
Apollo was also quickly attacked by two guardian angels with swords glowing with sacred light and wings that moved at the speed of light.
But he wasn’t an ordinary true god, as even though these two angels’ strength reached the half-step eternal god realm, it was still nothing to him.
He was faster and stronger, even if he cannot fully use his strength here. Just with his raw physical strength, he easily faced them.
He moved. A blur. Faster than their holy wings could adjust.
His fist collided with a sword strike — CLANG!
The shockwave blasted the angels back, feathers scattering like shards of gold.
Apollo’s expression remained calm, eyes cold and assessing everything.
