CHAPTER 131: CHAPTER 131 MISSING PERSON NOTICE (4TH UPDATE) _1
Zhang Qun said anxiously, "Something happened at my house too! I don’t know who turned on the gas last night. If my father hadn’t visited me in a dream, I would have suffocated by now. You... you have to contact that student immediately, no matter what it takes!"
Zhang Dehua shivered. I feel like I’m going to die, he thought, as Chu Hao’s words echoed in his mind.
He hurriedly drove to the school and found Chu Hao’s homeroom teacher.
To his surprise, the homeroom teacher was also looking for him. "Vice Principal, I actually needed to talk to you as well. Something happened to Wang Qi."
Zhang Dehua felt a thump in his chest, and his voice changed as he asked, "What... what happened to him?"
"He went crazy last night. Ran around naked in the streets, hopping like a frog, and then got hit by a car. Fortunately, it wasn’t serious," the homeroom teacher said.
Zhang Dehua’s expression was one of utter shock, his hair stood on end. He asked in a trembling voice, "Do you have Chu Hao’s phone number? Give it to me, quickly!"
The homeroom teacher was puzzled. I’m telling him about Wang Qi’s accident; why is he asking for Chu Hao?
At the mention of Chu Hao, the homeroom teacher’s expression soured. Having one of my students expelled is bad enough for my reputation. If word of this gets out, how much more face will I lose?
The homeroom teacher said, "He was expelled by you, Vice Principal, just yesterday. I can’t get in touch with him, but his deskmate might have his number."
Li Yin was called out. "Vice Principal, what do you need me for?"
Zhang Dehua said anxiously, "Do you have Chu Hao’s phone number? Give it to me, quickly!"
Li Yin just said, "Oh."
But when Zhang Dehua tried the number, it indicated the phone was off.
"The number you have dialed is switched off."
Fuck!
Zhang Dehua trembled all over, consumed by an extreme fear. Thinking of Chu Hao’s words, he almost cried out in desperation, "Classmate, do you know where Chu Hao is?"
Li Yin looked surprised. "Vice Principal, has something happened?"
Zhang Dehua nodded. "Yesterday... It’s no use explaining to you. Just tell me if you know where Chu Hao is, quickly! Otherwise, people might die!"
Li Yin was also startled. He shook his head, "I don’t know where he is either. My bro doesn’t have a family; he’s used to drifting around on his own."
Zhang Dehua was completely panicked and terrified.
Trembling, he picked up his phone and called Zhang Qun. "Director Zhang, I... I haven’t found him."
Zhang Qun was breathing heavily and roared, "Zhang Dehua! If we can’t find that person, we could all be in deep trouble! Get your ass moving and find him, by any means necessary!"
After hanging up, Zhang Dehua was completely distraught, deeply regretting expelling Chu Hao. Who else could save them now?
Just then, his phone rang. It was a call from the principal’s secretary. A frantic voice came through, "Vice Principal Zhang, this is bad! Something has happened to the Principal!"
"What happened?"
Zhang Dehua’s heart skipped a beat. The Principal was also present during the mountain excavation!
They were all implicated! This is bad, really bad.
...
After Chu Hao parted ways with Yi Qinglian, she had mentioned having a surprise for him and then left.
Chu Hao was enjoying a rare couple of days off. He was currently at an internet cafe, a cigarette dangling from his lips as he played games, having already spent his last two hundred yuan.
He was utterly dejected; his pockets were completely empty.
Chu Hao muttered despondently, "To think that I, with a net worth of two hundred million yuan, villas, and luxury cars worth hundreds of millions, can’t even afford a pack of cigarettes right now. This is just too pathetic!"
Driving the world’s most luxurious cars but not having enough money for gas? Could anything be more pathetic than this?
It doesn’t get any more ironic than this.
"Sigh, showing off always comes at a price."
Chu Hao took out his last cigarette and said to the guy next to him, "Buddy, can I borrow a light again?"
The guy next to him, clearly another student skipping class to be online, asked in amusement, "How many times have you borrowed a lighter now? Can’t you just buy one?"
Chu Hao spread his hands. "I’m broke."
The guy rolled his eyes, passed him the lighter, and said, "You’re quite a character! Skipped class to come here too, huh? What school are you from?"
"Star Dream High School."
"Oh, wow! What a coincidence! I’m from Star Dream High School too. Which class are you in?"
"Senior Year, Class 164. You?"
"Seriously, what a coincidence! I’m in Senior Year, Class 163. We’re next-door neighbors!"
Chu Hao figured about two days had passed and decided it was time to turn on his phone.
He had barely turned it on for a few minutes when a call came in. It was Li Yin.
Li Yin exclaimed, "Fuck! You finally turned your phone on! The entire school is looking for you; they’ve practically gone mad!"
Chu Hao was perplexed. "Why is the whole school looking for me?"
Li Yin said, "I’m puzzled too! It’s the Principal and the others looking for you. They’ve even put up missing person notices; they’re just short of calling the police!"
What the hell!
I’m not missing, so why the missing person notices? Are they really going to call the cops?
Chu Hao grimaced as he ended the call. The truant next to him said with a curious look, "Bro, why do you look so familiar?"
Chu Hao: "How so?"
The truant buddy: "I think I’ve seen you somewhere... Ah, right! The school forum!"
He opened the Xingmeng School forum and pointed to Chu Hao’s picture. It was actually a grayscale photo from an ID card.
That vibe... it’s almost like a wanted poster, Chu Hao thought.
This guy got incredibly excited. "See! I told you I’d seen you! Dude, you’re famous! The school put up a missing person notice for you!"
Chu Hao glanced at it; it really was a missing person notice. His face darkened even more.
A moment later, the guy exclaimed, "Holy shit! Whoever finds you gets a fifty-thousand-yuan reward! Did you do something wrong? Is this a missing person notice or an arrest warrant?"
Chu Hao: "..."
He then read the comments below.
First floor: "Verified. This guy’s a school fugitive."
Second floor: "Haha... Isn’t this an arrest warrant?"
"What did he do? This is so badass! And the Vice Principal posted it himself!"
"Hmm... Could he be some psycho who escaped?"
Chu Hao read the posts and almost cursed out loud. My, Brother Hao’s, reputation is completely ruined!
Just then, his phone rang again. Chu Hao answered, "Hello, who is it?"
On the other end, Zhang Dehua said excitedly, "Classmate Chu Hao, you finally turned on your phone! Where are you?"
So it was posted by the man himself.
Chu Hao replied grumpily, "I’m at an internet cafe."
He then asked, "By the way, that missing person notice on the school forum, did you post it?"
Zhang Dehua said, "Yes, I did."
"You old bastard, I’m not a damned fugitive!"
Zhang Dehua shuddered inwardly. Chu Hao was furious. He quickly said, "I’ll take it down right away, right away!"
"Classmate, please wait there. We’re coming to pick you up immediately!"
Chu Hao hung up and posted a message on the forum, his face etched with annoyance: "To everyone on the thread calling me a fugitive: That’s Zhang Dehua begging me for help, and I just can’t be bothered with him."
"Holy shit!! The man himself has appeared! Reveal your location!"
"Damn, bro, tell us where you are! That’s a fifty-thousand-yuan reward! You’re a hot commodity right now!"
"Reveal your location!"
"Such a boss! The Vice Principal is asking *you* for a favor? That’s freaking epic!"
"Ding... Host successfully acted pretentious, receiving 70 Pretentiousness Points."
"..."
The forum instantly exploded. With the main subject appearing, everyone was asking for Chu Hao’s location.
Even more ridiculously, Chu Hao’s private messages blew up. His Weibo followers jumped from 6 to 1,200 in ten minutes.
Chu Hao posted another message: "I’ll turn myself in. You think that fifty thousand yuan is for any of you to grab?"
"Damn!! Bro, that’s not cool."
"Exactly, exactly."
"Shouldn’t we all get a piece of the pie? That’s not cool, man."
Damn it! How am I the one not being cool? These bastards are desperate for money!
Chu Hao closed the forum and went back to his game.
Soon, a large group of imposing figures burst into the internet cafe. Outside, numerous luxury cars were parked, lining the street.
The formidable aura of the newcomers made the receptionist tremble nervously, initially thinking agents from national security had arrived.
The buddy next to him turned pale and wailed, "Motherfucker! It’s Zhang Dehua! We’re screwed!"
That’s all for today’s update, folks. Nothing more... really, nothing more. I’m off to bed.
