Ghost Catching System
Chapter 146: 146 Raging Fury_1
Chu Hao fumed; this guy really thought he was somebody.
He said coldly, "Go on, try and arrest me."
The people from the Seventh District were in an awkward position, unsure whether to act or not.
Zhang Zheming didn't care who Chu Hao was. In his eyes, anyone who came to the Seventh District, even a dragon, had to submit.
He roared at Chu Hao, "Are you refusing to do your job? Now... right now... immediately, get lost! We'll discuss your merits later."
Chu Hao was baffled by the shouting. Who the hell is this kid? He retorted furiously, "Since when did I become one of your people? And who the hell are you to yell at me? Believe it or not, I'll beat you so badly your own mother won't recognize you."
Zhang Zheming said icily, "Say that again."
Chu Hao grew even angrier. "Are you asking for it? Do you really want this young master to curse you out?"
Zhang Zheming's expression turned sinister. "Insolence! Arrest him for me!"
Arrest Chu Hao? Zhang Zheming must have been mad with rage.
"I'd like to see who dares arrest me." Chu Hao's gaze turned frosty as he swept it across everyone from the Seventh District.
The members of the Seventh District stood frozen, hastily avoiding Chu Hao's gaze, especially Xu Ying, Song Lou, and Yue Feng.
Old Yuan said with a pained expression, "Master Chu, we wouldn't dare arrest you."
"You! All of you!"
Zhang Zheming was livid. He was the authoritative Steward Director of Anli City; how dare someone disobey his orders?
He pulled out a handgun, aimed it at Chu Hao, and snarled, "Such insolence, such disrespect for a superior! As Steward Director, I am arresting you now!"
Everyone gasped; the man had actually drawn a gun.
Feng Ju shouted angrily, "Zhang Zheming, are you insane? Put the gun down!"
Zhang Zheming stated coldly, "If you won't arrest him, I will. A mere Exorcist dares to speak to me so brazenly."
Chu Hao's eyes grew colder, still as a pool of deadly water.
Xu Ying said in a panic, "Steward Director, Master Chu isn't one of us! He's an instructor invited by the Seventh District."
Zhang Zheming was uncompromising. "An instructor for the Seventh District must be approved by my vote," he said coldly. "Did you all think you could abuse your authority while I was away? Now, no one can save him."
Does this guy have cow dung for brains?
Being held at gunpoint made Chu Hao extremely uncomfortable. He charged forward. Startled, Zhang Zheming actually pulled the trigger.
"BANG!"
Chu Hao did his best to dodge the muzzle, but how could he be faster than a bullet?
The bullet still struck his shoulder. Chu Hao winced, staggering back several paces, his mind reeling in shock.
That was close. It was a near-death experience—if my skills weren't extraordinary, he would have killed me already.
A torrent of rage surged within him.
Everyone cried out in alarm. Feng Ju lunged forward, snatching the gun from Zhang Zheming's hand. "Zhang Zheming, what are you doing?" he demanded furiously.
Zhang Zheming panicked for a moment but quickly regained his composure. "He charged at me first. It was self-defense."
The hearts of the Seventh District members pounded. Zhang Zheming had actually fired, and he still had the audacity to claim self-defense?
It wasn't just Chu Hao; everyone else was furious too.
Blood flowed from Chu Hao's left shoulder where the bullet had lodged in his flesh. Though painful, his eyes grew even colder, like a stagnant pool.
His chilling demeanor startled many, their hearts thumping wildly.
Others might not have known Chu Hao's capabilities, but the people from the Seventh District did.
Ouyang Zhen boomed with laughter. "Haha... So this is the 'righteous path' you wish to protect? This is reality! Come with me! Join the Ghost Dao Sect, and within three years, you'll be its master."
Chu Hao's face was glacial as he pressed a hand to his shoulder, treating the wound.
To everyone's utter astonishment, the wound began to heal. A moment later, a bullet was expelled.
What… what kind of ability was this?
Everyone stared, their pupils dilated. Zhang Zheming cried out in shock.
"DING… Host has successfully shocked and awed, earning 200 Pretentiousness Points."
Zhang Zheming's heart raced. He had never heard of such an ability. It terrified him, yet a part of him grew excited. If he could control this power, his status would soar.
Perhaps I can find something useful in this kid.
Even at this juncture, he was still contemplating how to use Chu Hao to further his own ambitions.
Old Yuan quickly interjected, "Master Chu, this is all a misunderstanding."
Chu Hao whipped his head around, staring intently at Old Man Yuan. At a time like this, he still calls it a misunderstanding?
Old Yuan immediately fell silent, wishing he could slap himself. Stirring up trouble for no reason... wasn't that just asking for death?
The others were equally exasperated; Old Yuan's timing was completely off, truly muddleheaded.
Chu Hao lunged. Zhang Zheming, now unarmed, panicked.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Chu Hao's answer was a fist. Zhang Zheming took a heavy blow. His ribs shattered, and he was sent flying seven or eight meters.
"Argh!" Zhang Zheming vomited blood, staring at Chu Hao in disbelief.
Chu Hao advanced step by step, like the Grim Reaper closing in.
Utterly terrified, Zhang Zheming yelled, "Feng Ju, stop him! Quickly!"
Feng Ju said, "Master Chu, let's talk this through."
Chu Hao turned his head, his voice cold. "Anyone who tries to stop me, I'll kill."
Instantly, no one dared to speak. A muscle twitched at the corner of Feng Ju's mouth. He sighed and decided to stay out of it; Zhang Zheming had indeed gone too far.
Zhang Zheming pulled out another gun from his clothes and fired directly at Chu Hao, roaring, "Die!!"
The crowd gasped. Did he really intend to kill Chu Hao?
Zhang Zheming was incandescent with rage. No one had ever treated him this way, not since he was a child. Since becoming Steward Director, his authority had only grown. Who the hell does Chu Hao think he is?
Chu Hao opened the Ghost Night Umbrella. Its second form, the defensive Ghost Umbrella, deflected the bullets.
His expression grim, he rushed forward with lightning speed and harshly stepped on Zhang Zheming's hand. CRACK! The bone in Zhang Zheming's hand snapped.
"Ah!" Zhang Zheming screamed in agony, glaring venomously at Chu Hao.
"You... you dare kill me? The Zhang Family of the Capital City won't let you get away with this!"
Chu Hao remained silent, his expression colder than ever. He drew the Yin Yang Sword. With a single slash, Zhang Zheming's hand was severed, blood splattering everywhere.
Chu Hao licked his lips. "Don't worry. This hand is just the beginning."
His icy words sent shivers down everyone's spines.
So, this was how terrifying Master Chu could be when enraged.
"AHHH!"
Zhang Zheming shrieked like a pig being slaughtered, his earlier arrogance replaced by abject terror.
The people of the Seventh District stood still as if frozen, their eyes wide. Will Chu Hao really kill Zhang Zheming?
Chu Hao's killing intent was overwhelming.
Chu Hao said coldly, "The Zhang Family of the Capital City? I might pay them a visit someday. The Zhang Family had better have someone... who can stop me from killing."
Someone capable of stopping him from killing?
If anyone else had uttered such words, people would have laughed it off. The Zhang Family of the Capital City was a colossal power, wielding immense authority within the Seventh District.
But Chu Hao was different. He could resolve over seventy percent of all disasters; his true strength was unfathomable.
"This is a society governed by law! You can't kill me!" Zhang Zheming cried in terror.
Chu Hao scoffed. "When you fired your gun at me, why didn't you mention the society governed by law? Rest assured, I won't kill you with my own hands. This Taoist Master has ten thousand ways to deal with you."
He plucked a strand of hair from Zhang Zheming's head. "Ever heard of curses? Which method of death do you prefer?"
Zhang Zheming was utterly dumbfounded. "What... what are you planning to do?" he stammered in fear.
Chu Hao said inwardly, "System, purchase a Curse Talisman."
System: "Curse Talismans are available in three grades: low, medium, and high."
Chu Hao: "High-grade."
"DING… Host has purchased a high-grade Curse Talisman, consuming 400 Pretentiousness Points."
Chu Hao took out the Curse Talisman, wrapped Zhang Zheming's hair in it, and chanted, "Evil God Curse! Ancient Evil Spirit, heed my command! Curse this man to eternal damnation, never to be reborn!"
The Curse Talisman ignited, and a grotesquely fierce phantom head materialized. It let out a shrill, ear-piercing cackle before drilling into Zhang Zheming's mouth and nose.
Everyone witnessed the phantom head, especially Zhang Zheming, who let out a bizarre shriek.
Nearby, Ouyang Zhen's eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. "The Skull of Evil Spirit! An ancient cursing technique!" he exclaimed.
