CHAPTER 853: CHAPTER 853: YU MEI’S END-4

Yu Holea sat back down in her chair and crossed her legs.

"There’s a new organization rising in the south region. Dangerous, brutal, and fast. I want you and your little group to go survey the area. And if you’re so brave, have a little fight with them too."

Everyone’s face turned pale.

"That place is cursed..." someone whispered.

Another officer stammered, "Vice President, please... we were just a little confused. We won’t do it again."

But Yu Holea didn’t even blink. "I’m not listening to excuses. The Special Force Office is not a place for politics or personal drama. We exist to protect people. So go out there and prove your worth."

One by one, the officers looked down. They knew there was no escape now.

Yu Holea leaned back in her chair, relaxed. She waved her hand. "Dismissed."

They all left the room slowly, like scared students walking out of the principal’s office.

Only Leng Huan stayed behind. His eyes were full of pain and frustration.

He stared at Yu Holea. "Tell me one thing," he said. "Do you ever plan to let Mirai go?"

Yu Holea looked at him quietly for a moment... then slowly shook her head.

"No," she said. "Not anytime soon. Mirai may not be a full criminal in this life... but in her past lives, she caused my death. More than once."

Leng Huan’s eyes widened. His fists clenched tight. "So you’re saying she deserves to suffer... because of what happened in her past life?!"

Yu Holea didn’t answer. She didn’t need to. Her silence said everything.

Leng Huan let out a sharp breath. "Fine. I won’t give up. No matter what."

And then, without another word, he stormed out of the room.

Qiao Jun narrowed his eyes and made a move like he was about to follow him.

But Yu Holea reached out and lightly touched his arm.

"Let him go," she said calmly. "Let him scream and cry. At most, he’ll just create more trouble. That’s all."

Qiao Jun frowned. "He’s like a stupid fly. Buzzing around non-stop. He doesn’t even know how weak he is."

Yu Holea gave a small smile. "He’s like an ant on a hot pot. Running here and there, panicking. But sooner or later, he’ll hit a wall. And another one. And another. After that, he’ll have no choice but to give up."

Qiao Jun was quiet for a moment. But deep inside, he wasn’t ready to let things go so easily. His eyes darkened just a little.

Then he turned toward her and smiled again, this time softer.

"Forget him for now," he said. "You should start getting ready."

Yu Holea blinked. "Getting ready? For what?"

Qiao Jun’s smile grew wider. "A big surprise. The day after tomorrow."

She raised an eyebrow. "What kind of surprise?"

He chuckled. "I’ll tell you tomorrow."

Yu Holea rolled her eyes playfully. "You’re such a tease."

Qiao Jun leaned down and gently kissed the top of her head.

"You’ll love it," he said.

And with that, he walked out, leaving Yu Holea slightly curious... and just a little excited.

..................

Countryside.

The hot sun beat down on Yu Mei’s back as she pulled weeds from the field. Her hands were rough, and her feet ached from standing all day.

Behind her, two bodyguards stood watching like statues. They never helped her, but they never left her alone either.

In her heart, Yu Mei kept waiting for her fiancé. He had promised her. He had looked her in the eye and told her he’d come back for her.

So she waited.

One day passed. Then another. A week turned into a month. Then two. Then six.

But no one came.

No letter. No messenger. No sign that anyone even remembered she existed.

As time went on, Yu Mei stopped looking toward the road. Her eyes stopped searching for a familiar face. Her heart slowly stopped hoping.

She became quieter, moving through her days like a shadow. Every morning, she woke up in a cold bed. Every night, she fell asleep with her clothes still on, too tired to change.

There was no good food. No warm bath. No soft pillow.

Only hard work. Only pain. Only emptiness.

Sometimes, the thought of dying crossed her mind. But she was too afraid to do it. Too weak to try.

So she just kept living.

Just like that... years passed.

In the end, Yu Mei dies alone in a small wooden bed. Her hands were still calloused. Her body was thin and tired. Even in her last breath, she hoped someone would open the door, smile at her, and say:

"I’m here. Let’s go home."

But that moment never came.

And in the final second of her life, she finally understood the truth.

No one was ever going to come.

.....................

Yu Holea rolled her eyes at Qiao Jun’s mysterious words, then smiled softly and left the Special Force Office. Her tasks were finished for the day.

Later that night, she arrived at Qiao’s mansion. Her steps were light, but her mood was heavy. She entered her room, closed the door, and waved her hand gently.

With a small shimmer of golden light, two figures appeared in the center of the room.

Rou Lan and the witch.

Both of them looked awful. Bruised. Bloody. Beaten. Their faces were swollen, their clothes were torn, and fear filled their eyes.

Yu Holea walked slowly to the chair and sat down like a queen.

She didn’t need to lift a finger herself. She had asked her loyal ghosts to possess their bodies and force them to beat themselves. Every bruise was their own doing. Every injury was karma.

Rou Lan was shaking. Her lips trembled. She didn’t dare speak.

But the witch wasn’t as quiet.

Even now, with only her head remaining, her eyes burned with hatred.

"You’re just like your father... Yu Lin," the witch growled, her voice weak but sharp.

Yu Holea smiled brightly.

"Finally, you said something," she said. "But did you forget? You asked your sister to make my mother sleep with another man, and hence, I’m not Yu Lin’s daughter. I’m the daughter of the former head of the Ou Family."

The witch’s eyes widened. "That... that doesn’t matter!" she spat. "One day, when I escape this golden prison, I’ll make you cry. I’ll take your knife and make you beg."

Yu Holea stood up slowly and walked toward the floating head.

"Sure," she said sweetly. "But for that... you’d need power."

She leaned closer. "And from what I see, your energy is almost gone."

The witch froze. Her eyes darted back and forth. "W-What do you mean?" she stuttered.

Yu Holea pointed to the pale color of her ghostly face.

"See that? Your soul’s losing color. That means your life force is draining. Once it’s all gone, you won’t just die..."

She paused, then whispered like a warning:

"You’ll vanish forever."

"No reincarnation. No second chance. Not even a ghost."

The witch’s face turned white. "L-Lies! I can just find a new body! I’ll absorb someone’s soul like I always planned and..."

Yu Holea snapped her fingers, and a mirror floated into the air.

"Take a look," she said, coldly.

The witch screamed.

Her face in the mirror looked dull and almost transparent. Her glowing red eyes were now faded and weak.

"No... no no no!" she shouted. "I’m not ready to die! I need more time! I can change, I’ll be good! I swear! Please, let me go! I won’t hurt anyone! I’ll disappear! Please, Yu Holea!"

She began to sob. Ugly, loud sobs.

Yu Holea just watched. Her face was emotionless.

"You should’ve thought of that before using forbidden techniques. Before killing innocents. Before betraying the world."

The witch cried harder.

"I don’t want to die! I don’t want to disappear! Please, please..."

But Yu Holea stayed calm.

She looked at the witch with cold, steady eyes. In her mind, all those memories came rushing back, how the witch had controlled Mirai, how she had made her kill innocent people again and again.

She had tried to kill everyone in the Yu Family and succeeded in all her past lives. So many lives lost... and for what? Just because the witch had been wronged in her past?

Yes, it was true. The witch had suffered once. But that didn’t mean she had the right to make the entire world suffer with her.

She could’ve asked for help. She could’ve gone after the people who hurt her. But instead... she hurt everyone.

Yu Holea took a slow breath and finally spoke, her voice soft but strong.

"I can let you go."

The witch froze.

"But only if you follow my conditions."

Then, Yu Holea turned to Rou Lan. Her voice didn’t change; it was still cold, still calm.

"I can let you go too. But again, only if you agree to my terms."

Both Rou Lan and the witch looked up. There was a flicker of hope in their eyes.
