Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge
Chapter 132: Finally found you
CHAPTER 132: FINALLY FOUND YOU
Cecilia had a wonderful time talking to Joe, with him being one of the few people with whom she could let her guard down. He always had a way of bringing her back to those carefree times when her mother was still around.
During their conversation, she learned that after he had been taken away, his father had thrown him abroad, only sending money monthly without any further care.
Later, through his own efforts, he graduated from a top design school overseas. But as soon as he graduated, he returned home and opened this restaurant. He said drifting alone felt too unbearable, and he preferred his current leisurely and secure life.
Their similar experiences sparked Cecilia’s empathy. She didn’t know how to comfort her old friend, so she tried not to mention his blindness and talked about happy things instead. However, she found it difficult to talk about Emma to a friend whom she hadn’t seen in so many years. After their brief conversation, they exchanged each other’s contacts before Cecilia returned home.
Upon returning home, Alex was sitting and studying at his desk as usual. She remembered what Steven told her today about how he had once been thrown into the wilderness and almost died. Her eyes welled up, and she went over to hug him.
"I’m sorry, Alex. It was because I couldn’t protect you back then."
Alex gently patted his mom’s back, comforting her. He believed there must have been a reason behind what happened and didn’t pin the blame on her.
The next morning, Alex arrived at school early.
Emma had told him that Rainy had been specially invited to the school to tutor on piano playing, so he wanted to see her as well.
As he walked in, he saw Larry. The latter had arrived even earlier than him, standing by the door.
Larry was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, yet never seemed to keep up with his studies. Alex truly wondered what he was doing all day.
Alex didn’t intend to pay him any mind, but Larry suddenly blocked his way.
"Boss, I brought you your favorite little cake today. Can you tell me how you became a little boy?"
Alex was rendered speechless.
"You’re already a little boy; why do you want to learn how to become one?"
Larry’s eyes dimmed as he lowered his head and replied softly.
"I want to become a little girl."
Just as Alex was about to ask why he wanted to become a little girl, a cheerful voice came their way.
"Ale- Emma! It’s really you!"
Rainy had agreed to teach here because she knew that Emma studied at this kindergarten. Later on, Emma mentioned that Alex was here as well, and they were swapping identities with each other. Knowing about this, Rainy became even more excited—it was her first time meeting Cecilia’s son.
She walked over to Alex, looking at him with endless admiration.
"You two look so similar... basically like two peas in a pod!"
Alex looked at her. She did have the quiet elegance Emma had described, but she was very warm toward them.
Noticing him standing there alone, she asked curiously, "So, what are you doing here by yourself?"
Just as he was about to tell her he wasn’t alone, he turned to find that Larry, who was behind him just now, was suddenly nowhere to be seen.
"Strange, he was just here."
No sooner than he said that, a scream came from the windowside, making both Rainy and Alex hurry over to check. They saw Larry, who had jumped out of the window and had accidentally passed out.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she hurried outside to check on Larry. Seeing his face made her flinch, but she managed to put her thoughts aside and took him to the hospital as fast as possible.
At the hospital, the doctor had given him an examination and said, "The child didn’t face any serious injuries; he only knocked his head and passed out. Let him rest here, and he can go home once he wakes up."
Rainy nodded as she carefully observed Larry. The more she stared, the more she found him...
All of a sudden, the ward door burst open. A woman rushed to Larry’s side, full of worry.
"Larry, please don’t scare Mom..."
Rainy guessed this must have been Larry’s mother, Olive, as she had informed the principal to call his parents over.
"Mrs. Foster, no need to worry so much. The doctor said he will be fine once he wakes up."
Olive nodded and looked up at Rainy.
At that moment, her gaze immediately changed from one of gratitude to disdain.
"Why is it you?"
Rainy was stunned. So that was why she found Larry familiar; Olive wasn’t just anyone but the older sister she had been searching for over the years!
She could hardly contain her excitement, her eyes brimming with tears as she stepped forward to grasp her sister’s hand. She exclaimed in her joy, "Sister! I finally found you!"
But to her surprise, Olive showed no happiness from their reunion. Instead, she pulled her hand away and coldly said, "I don’t have a sister."
