CHAPTER 135: RAINY’S TEARS

Everyone turned toward the direction of the voice and saw Alex, who had somehow appeared in the hospital room.

He was carrying a little backpack and looked very serious.

After having waited for a long time at the kindergarten, he didn’t see Rainy anywhere. She had volunteered to take him home today, and Cecilia agreed as she was coincidentally too lazy to make the trip.

But when school was over, Rainy still hadn’t shown up. So he asked the teacher to bring him to the hospital, not expecting to witness this scene upon arrival.

On the way there, Emma had told him about Larry’s situation. Although he didn’t like Larry, he couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.

Seeing that even a little kid had the guts to order him around, Cole felt even more frustrated. His grip tightened, and he pressed his hand down to choke Olive’s neck viciously.

Her face turned bright red.

Larry kept pleading with his mom, but it seemed like Cole didn’t hear anything. He just said to Alex, "I’m not letting go. What are you gonna do about it?!"

"This is a family matter, Olive. I can treat you any way I want!"

Rainy was also afraid that Alex would get hurt by this madman, so she quickly called out to him, "Emma, why are you here? Hurry and wait for me outside!"

However, Alex showed no intention of leaving. Instead, he fearlessly said to Cole, "I might not be able to do anything to you, but my dad is Steven Lawrence. I heard you have some sort of cooperation going on with him, right?"

"How about I make a call and let him see what you’re up to right now? My dad despises people who lack family responsibility. The cooperation might just get terminated....."

Cole loosened his grip immediately upon hearing that. Olive regained her breath and took deep gulps of air, still shaken.

He looked at Alex with some doubt.

He did hear before that Steven had a son, but could it really be this boy? That sort of coincidence couldn’t happen, but then again, not many people knew about his partnership with Steven Lawrence. In spite of that, this child did...

Forget it—whether real or not, it was better for him to be more cautious.

He coldly looked at Olive and said, "I’ll let you off the hook today. If there’s a next time, you won’t be so lucky."

With that, he turned and left the hospital room.

On the other hand, Alex had a look of complete control on his face.

Rainy was concerned about Olive’s condition, but the latter pushed her away.

"I’m fine. You’ve seen everything already. Can you leave now?"

Rainy’s eyes were brimming with tears. "Sister, I don’t understand why. We only managed to reunite after so much effort, so why do you keep pushing me away? You even said our parents are dead, so did you already find out......"

However, Olive suddenly exploded as if she had struck a nerve and shouted at Rainy, "Don’t mention them to me! In my heart, they’re already dead! And you, too! Hurry up and leave; never show up in front of me again!"

Rainy’s heart felt like a knife was slicing through it. She held back her tears, leaving the room with Alex.

"Sister, please take care."

After leaving the hospital room, they got into the car to head home. Alex looked at Rainy, who had been silently crying all the way, his heart feeling heavy.

Realizing she had lost her composure, she wiped her tears and said to him, "By the way, how did you know that man had cooperation with your father?"

He shrugged his shoulders and replied, "In Star City, people either are cooperating with my dad or want to cooperate with him. So, shaking it up a bit will reveal things."

Hearing this, she was surprised by the intelligence of the little child beside her. He truly lived up to being Steven and Cecilia’s child.

When the car arrived at the hotel, Rainy apologized to Alex, "Alex, I have some things to do, so I won’t be coming up yet. Let your mom know."

He nodded in return, guessing that she was probably going to go investigate Olive.

As he returned to the room, Cecilia was there looking at the house renovation plans. Seeing her son return, she immediately put down what she was doing and reached out to hug him.

"You’re back, Son. Why are you back so late today?"

"Because Aunt Rainy went to the hospital today!"

What?!
