CHAPTER 74: CH 74: WE ARE HERE TO TAKE HER - PART 4
The high priestess’s promise felt like a lie as Kana’s insides quivered. She felt her second orgasm approach much faster than the first.
But this time, the high priestess was with her and they came together.
Kana felt her mind slipping away, but another kiss brought her back. This one was accompanied by a small bite on her lips as well.
She felt herself tipping, almost slipping into the sensation before the woman pulled back—calmly, decisively, as if she knew exactly when to stop.
Not that it was the right time or anything. What needed to happen had already happen.
Their eyes met.
"I wanted to mark you up, but I can see that your neck is already taken. So I decided to improvise and go for some place else. I hope you don’t mind."
The High Priestess said softly. She smoothed her robe with a graceful motion, as though nothing unusual had happened. "Come. It’s time for us to leave."
Kana exhaled slowly, her pulse still a shade faster than before, and rose to follow.
______
Lysera’s pacing had grown sharp enough to draw faint grooves into the polished floor.
Every few seconds, she would glance toward the carved double doors ahead, her jaw tightening further with each fruitless minute.
Irielle, seated on the stone bench along the corridor wall, fared no better.
Her legs bounced restlessly, and her gaze had fixed itself into a glare that could have burned through the wooden panels if it had any real heat to it.
"This is ridiculous."
She muttered for perhaps the sixth time in as many minutes.
"She’s been in there far too long. If they think they can keep her—"
Lysera’s voice was low, but there was no mistaking the tension threading through it.
She stopped mid-sentence, the dangerous thought unfinished.
The silence between them pressed heavier by the second, an almost physical weight.
They could feel themselves teetering on the edge of snapping—patience stretched so thin that even a single heartbeat too long might be enough to tear it entirely.
Then came the breaking point.
"Enough."
Lysera hissed, already striding toward the door. Irielle followed without hesitation, both of them moving with the single-minded purpose of people ready to take the consequences later.
They were only a step away when a voice cut across the tension.
"Don’t do that."
The pair froze, startled enough to glance sideways.
Evaya had been so still in the shadowed corner that they’d nearly forgotten she was there.
Leaning casually against the wall, her arms folded, she regarded them with an unreadable expression.
"If you start hammering on that door, temple security will be here in seconds. And then you won’t just be standing out here—you’ll be standing outside the temple entirely."
She said.
The warning rolled off them like water.
"We’ll deal with them if they come."
Irielle said coldly, already facing forward again.
But the moment Lysera reached out, the world shimmered—and they slammed directly into an invisible force.
The impact was solid, the kind of jarring stop that stole the breath from their lungs and sent them stumbling back half a step.
"A barrier?"
Irielle breathed, rubbing her forearm where it had struck.
Lysera’s lips pressed into a thin line. The urge to tear through it burned bright, but before she could act, the latch clicked.
The doors swung inward with quiet grace, and the faint scent of incense drifted out.
Kana stepped through first, her expression a little flushed, as if she’d just been caught in some awkward conversation she wasn’t ready to discuss.
Behind her, High Priestess Jenna emerged in full ceremonial presence—robes flowing, chin lifted, every movement precise enough to remind those watching exactly who held the authority here.
Lysera and Irielle exchanged a quick glance. Something had happened inside, they were sure of it.
But the details sat behind Kana’s guarded eyes, and prying them open here, under the priestess’s gaze, would be reckless.
High Priestess Jenna’s focus shifted to them with the kind of measured weight that made people feel suddenly much smaller than they were.
"Take her with you for now. But understand this—her task here is not complete. I may call for her again tomorrow."
She said evenly.
Kana’s flush deepened, and she nodded quickly without meeting anyone’s eyes.
"Let’s just go."
She murmured, stepping past Lysera and Irielle before either could press her.
The two fell into step beside her instantly, each one casting a lingering look back at the high priestess—different shades of suspicion and irritation in their eyes—before turning their attention forward.
Lysera’s eyes softened, though the tension in her jaw didn’t ease.
She glanced at Irielle, and without a word, they shared the same unspoken thought—whatever had happened in that temple, Kana needed distance from it.
And if possible, she needed to forget it altogether.
Irielle was the first to act, her steps quick and light until she closed the space between them.
Without hesitation, she pressed herself against Kana’s back, looping her arms around her like an affectionate shadow that refused to let go.
"I’m glad you’re coming home now."
She murmured, the words warm but edged with something more—an insistence, a claim, as though by speaking it aloud she could anchor Kana firmly back to them.
Kana stiffened under the sudden closeness, her ears burning, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she gave a short nod, almost grateful for the grounding touch despite her flustered state.
Lysera moved to Kana’s other side, her pace deliberately unhurried.
"We’ll walk you out."
She said, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Her eyes swept the surrounding hall like a hawk, watching every passing priest, acolyte, or temple attendant who might so much as glance in Kana’s direction.
Irielle, however, had no such wariness—her focus stayed fixed entirely on Kana. She leaned in closer, resting her cheek against Kana’s shoulder as they walked.
"I was so worried."
She whispered, voice pitched low so only Kana could hear.
"When the door didn’t open for so long, I thought maybe..."
She trailed off, her grip tightening for a heartbeat before she forced a playful note back into her voice.
"But you’re here now. That’s all that matters."
Kana opened her mouth, perhaps to explain or reassure, but the words caught. Something inside her told her that explaining would only make things worse.
So instead, she simply said, "I’m fine," though the faint tremor in her voice betrayed her.
Lysera caught it instantly. She didn’t press, but her gaze softened further, the kind of look one gives to something precious and fragile.
"Good. Then let’s keep it that way."
She replied evenly.
The trio moved through the temple corridors, Evaya following a few steps behind like an unspoken guardian.
The air outside the high priestess’s chamber felt lighter, but it didn’t dispel the heaviness in Lysera’s and Irielle’s chests.
Irielle clung stubbornly to Kana until they reached the outer hall.
Only then did she loosen her hold, though her hand still brushed Kana’s arm as if to keep physical proof she was still there.
"We’re going straight home."
She declared, glancing briefly at Lysera for agreement.
Lysera gave a small nod.
"Straight home. No detours."
Kana didn’t argue. For now, leaving the temple without looking back seemed like the easiest choice she could make.
