However, there’s a success rate. Initially, it’s 1%. Each failure increases the success rate for the next attempt by 1%, up to a maximum of 50%. After a successful upgrade, if you use another Equipment Upgrade Stone on the same item, the success rate resets to 1%. Furthermore, each upgrade performed increases the number of Equipment Upgrade Stones required for the subsequent upgrade by one. Therefore, significantly raising an equipment’s Level consumes a vast amount of resources.

At one hundred thousand per stone, not everyone can afford them. It’s generally only considered if you’re exceptionally fond of your current equipment and absolutely must raise it to match your own Level. Chen Mo’s Magic Wand, with its life-saving Shared Fate effect, was a crucial weapon for her. As her own Level increased, she needed to upgrade the Magic Wand accordingly. While others faced low success rates with Equipment Upgrade Stones, she could synthesize them to obtain stones with much higher success rates. This would make the process much easier.
