Global Wasteland: I Obtained A Top Tier Shelter
Chapter 267 - 265: Death God’s Scythe, Raised!_2
CHAPTER 267: CHAPTER 265: DEATH GOD’S SCYTHE, RAISED!_2
In the passage, more Lizardmen corpses were scattered all around. Lin Yue, accompanied by the Little Ice Lizards, was almost walking among the corpses rather than on the stone bricks of the passage.
Lin Yue examined the scene.
Like the entrance, these Lizardmen didn’t have any weapons on them.
"I guess they were carrying metal weapons given by those people and couldn’t bear to part with them."
Lin Yue nodded; this was likely the correct answer.
Continuing forward, Lin Yue found a place littered with Lizardmen remains, surrounded by a large patch of scorched marks. The smell of gunpowder was mixed with the smell of blood, still very strong.
On one side of the wall, there was a mark, and its shape was exactly that of Little Meng.
Lin Yue silently looked around, seemingly understanding that this was where Little Meng had been harmed by the explosion.
It seemed that Little Meng, feeling exhausted, was taking the Little Ice Lizards back to the shelter, but was ambushed by the Lizardmen hiding here, who threw explosive bombs at them, causing severe injuries.
"Lizardmen..." Lin Yue looked at the corpses all over the ground, knowing this grudge was settled.
Throwing down the Lizardmen corpses from the Storage Space, the mechanical hand threw the person’s corpse on top of them too.
When coming back, might as well burn them all in one go.
Now, unless something stops him, he must let the Lizardmen know what "Death" is in the days to come!
Continuing forward, the number of corpses significantly decreased. After reaching a crossroads, there were bodies roughly every ten or twenty meters.
"Little Ice Lizards, stay alert behind me." Lin Yue reached the wall side of the crossroads, raised the Sniper Rifle, and put on the Night Vision Goggles.
Behind him was the direction of the Ice Lizard Cave, and this way was the path he hadn’t previously continued on.
If last time he had charged with Little Meng for a sweep, perhaps this incident wouldn’t have happened.
But then again, maybe there would have been other unexpected situations.
In the Night Vision Goggles, a dark shadow suddenly flashed at the end of the not-well-lit passage.
It was a Lizardman!
Simultaneously, fire erupted, and the Sniper Rifle’s bullet pierced through its skull!
The Sniper Rifle silently pierced the skull of the dark figure, taking away a life without a sound.
Lin Yue felt no emotion.
He placed a piece of stone on the ground, crouched down, and continued to aim the Sighting Scope in that direction.
Soon, another shadow appeared.
It immediately noticed its companion’s corpse and its footsteps halted.
That ugly head looked around suspiciously, clearly eyeing the conspicuous Copper Treasure Chest, as if hesitating whether to take it.
Its green scales appeared dull gray through the Night Vision Goggles, trembling continuously.
Just then, suddenly another Lizardman appeared behind it, and even the shadows of a third and fourth Lizardman appeared consecutively!
Here they come again...
Their numbers are indeed quite a lot.
It seems they truly are communal creatures, appearing in groups almost every time.
Lin Yue’s Sighting Scope carefully aimed, his finger gently stroking the trigger but not pressing it just yet.
Now’s not the time.
The Sniper Rifle’s magazine was sufficient to take down these four in an instant, but they were still overly cautious, not yet approaching their comrade’s corpse, nor the treasure chest beside it.
They seemed to be waiting for something, and Lin Yue was waiting for them.
Waiting for more Lizardmen to arrive!
In the past, Lizardmen typically formed squads of 20, with a leader-like figure wearing more armor embellishments.
But none of these current Lizardmen were like that; aside from holding long spears gleaming with metallic light, they only wore simple ragged cloth.
Metal long spears...
The Lizardmen were now fully armed, entering the Iron Age, no, rather the mid-development phase of the Cold Weapons Era.
After all, those iron spears were all exquisitely crafted, clearly made with high-level forging techniques.
Produced systematically, these weapons display uniform and standardized build without any burrs.
Without a doubt, these were crafted by the Survivors, using iron and wood to easily create them with the help of system blueprints.
If the Lizardmen were up against humans from Earth’s gunpowder era, these iron spears would be nothing.
Lin Yue had seen a movie; its plot was roughly about a foreigner coming to a near-modernized Japan, becoming a samurai, and leading a group of samurais armed with cold weapons against artillery-wielding opponents. The ending was, of course, quite moving.
He perished along with those warriors of the Cold Weapons Era, leaving nothing behind.
Lin Yue believed that if such a day came when Lizardmen and humans had a head-to-head confrontation, and human side was armed with hot weapons, it would be a homage to this movie.
But the fact is, humans also use cold weapons, and they gather in refugee villages of dozens or hundreds. If a thousand Lizardmen units were to attack, undoubtedly, the humans would suffer an absolute defeat at a total disadvantage.
After all, everyone is using cold weapons of essentially the same quality; the decisive factor would be the difference in numbers.
