The journey went almost smoothly under León's guidance and thanks to Louis and Laura's meteorite clearing efforts.
Although many meteorites seemed to be falling on them, none of them actually hit them. At first, León thought he had made a serious mistake in listening to these two, but as the days went by, he began to care less about what they were doing.
They were destroying meteorites left and right, and those they couldn't destroy, they deflected. Here, they didn't have to worry about affecting the river, so they were practically unleashed, training as hard as they could with every spell cast and every shot fired.
Laura was worried at first because Louis was using so many bullets. But suddenly, Louis pulled a bunch of boxes out of his inventory, filled with bullets of absurd quality that came from who knows where, which left her in shock.
She could tell that these bullets did not come from Mr. Gon because they did not have his mark on them, but when she asked him, Louis simply said that they came from abroad.
She did not know which country had a person who made better bullets than Gon, but she would like to meet them. After all, they could make better things than the Empire's Cursed Blacksmith himself.
But anyway, with so many boxes of bullets available, she naturally took advantage of them.
Both studied under Professor Hardrial's teaching method, and even though they weren't focusing on improving, they did so dramatically.
Even Leon could feel the improvement. It wasn't just in firing power; the highest level was demonstrated in the speed of firing and the spells cast. They were so diverse, especially Louis's, that Leon was stunned.
In the end, he could only conclude that these two were geniuses who had been deceiving him during the first few days, appearing "weaker" than they were now, since there was no way, in his mind, that these guys could be so talented as to improve so much in such a short time.
Three days later, they arrived at the vicinity of the place where the largest number of meteorites had fallen within a radius of hundreds of kilometers.
"Are we really going to go in here?" Leon backed away as he felt the heat hit him.
There was fire and large craters. In the distance, meteorites could be seen hitting the ground.
Even though meteorites were falling like a torrential rain sent by some god, this ground was incredibly resistant, to the point that, even though many craters were forming, it was still possible to walk around the place.
"We've shortened a trip of more than a week to just three days. Are you still hesitating?" Louis teased slightly.
And Leon glared at him fiercely. "There's a big difference between the road we were traveling on a moment ago and this place! It's a meteor shower, can't you see?"
Louis shrugged. "It's not that bad, I thought it would be worse. If we go through here, we'll probably cut the time down to a single day. If we go all the way around, it'll take us over a week to get to town; don't think I'm taking such a long route."
Louis took some items out of his inventory; he had bought them in Velharthe right after leaving the Tower when they trained with Hardrial. He didn't think he would use them so soon, as he didn't intend to enter the tower in the short term, but now that he was here and on this very floor for which he was prepared, it was time to use them.
They were some protective items he gave to Leon and Laura, as well as a special coat that had some kind of magic that kept the temperature quite low.
Given the unbearable heat, it was the best purchase he had ever made, so he didn't hesitate to put it on and gave one to Leon and Laura as well.
"Incredible, do they sell this kind of clothing outside?" Leon was shocked to feel the cold once again. "I didn't expect there to be anything this good."
Louis smiled. "There are many good things out there. Although now that I think about it, I'm curious. What is that stone you tried to trade for earlier? I haven't researched it yet."
León looked at him, and when he thought about answering, his heart and mind swallowed all the words that were about to come out of his mouth.
He had been dragged by that guy to finally enter that demonic meteorite domain...
His heart leapt into his throat, fear enveloped him, and his body trembled.
But suddenly they were walking hurriedly through the area.
"Aren't you going to answer?" Louis turned back to look at him...
"BEHIND YOU!" León shouted fearfully when he saw a meteorite heading straight for where they were.
But his words had not finished coming out when three accurate shots came out of Louis's gun and destroyed the meteorite in the distance.
Seconds passed and no one had died; in fact, they were still walking.
Laura held her huge rifle in her hand, firing very powerful bullets with every step.
Louis was not only dragging him along, but with his other hand, he was accurately firing magic bullets that destroyed meteorites, drove away the fire, and even froze this inferno.
Even though the ground was covered in fire and it looked like they were going to burn, Louis' footwork in moving around this place was exceptional, and not a single spark burned them. Meanwhile, the coat did an impressive job of keeping them at a comfortable temperature.
Leon never imagined that he would be crossing this place, dragged along by two people who were destroying meteorites while chatting, and at the same time be in such a pleasant temperature.
It was something that opened his eyes.
Sometime in the first 30 minutes, he relaxed at the sight of this scene and finally began to tell him.
The blue power stones are basically precious stones that are only found in the tower. The ones that are mined are not as pure as the ones that come in meteorites, so the 10 he has are very valuable.
They serve many purposes. As a precious stone, it is more like a metal, despite being very difficult to work with since it is not as versatile as others. However, when armor of any kind is created with it, it is incredibly resistant, capable of withstanding many blows from the most powerful metals.
Now, it is difficult to obtain enough at one time to create armor, so it is usually purchased or obtained in small quantities to "bathe" the armor in it, which will naturally increase its defensive capabilities dramatically.
Now, its greatest peculiarity is that it can be imbued with magic that can then be used, depending on the type of magic imbued. A small rock like the one Louis received can have up to 4 spells imbued at any level.
It is one of the best ways to attack those who do not expect it, as they can place mines that explode on contact, although it is really difficult to achieve.
Louis and Laura tried to imbue them with magic, but couldn't figure out how. They had to ask Hardrial how it was done.
Now, that stone must be worth a lot more, being so good, right?
But there's a problem. If they're not used in time, they turn into liquid.
The liquid is also very useful, but once it turns liquid, it never regains its previous capabilities. And since it's so difficult to imbue them with magic, naturally not many people seek them out, so it's like a treasure that many desire, but few dare to spend money on, since it's practically useless if you can't use it.
Now, according to Leon, they had a month before they turned liquid, so Louis had to hurry if he wanted to try them.
A month was a short time, so it was no wonder those guys hadn't accepted it.
Now he felt cheated.
Although after taking a few breaths, he felt much better. He had generated that amount to feel comfortable, so he returned to his normal breathing and continued on his way.
The journey was long, filled with meteorite strikes and fire, but it was pleasant, as they felt none of it.
He had to thank the store that sold these coats; they were incredibly durable. Along the way, he only had to change it once before continuing.
The next morning, they finally left that area.
Nothing stopped them.
Once they were out of that place, they were on top of a mountain.
"Have we been climbing?" Louis frowned and looked behind him.
That long road was, in fact, the foothills of a mountain or mountain range. It started down below, at ground level.
"What a strange formation," he couldn't help but think.
"Look, you can see everything from here," said Leon suddenly, breaking free from Louis's grip, who had dragged him here.
"It's hard to see the village, but do you see those four giant trees surrounding that area? The village is right in the middle," he said, smiling broadly.
The branches of that tree were red as blood, with green leaves streaked with red.
And, in fact, although Leon couldn't see it due to his lack of strength, both Louis and Laura could see the village between those giant trees.
"Those trees are the protectors of the village," Leon declared, smiling proudly.
Although Louis and Laura weren't paying much attention to him. They were more focused on the forest that practically surrounded the village from behind and stretched out for miles.
Many trees similar to the first four, but smaller, adorned that blood-red forest...
