CHAPTER 91: KEEP PROVOKING AND TEMPTING ME TO MY DEATH!

Laura tried desperately to move to stop him, but then he let the shot go.

BAM*

The impact...

It didn’t come with blood. He wasn’t even in danger. The shot hit the vampire above him in the shoulder and scattered the spirit.

Then, with a sinister grin on his face, he grabbed it by the neck and whipped it to the ground.

"You scumbags, this is what you call incitement? This is what you call provocation and temptation?" his teeth flashed coldly, and the blood of the guy he was beating to death splattered on him.

"Worse incitement to death I suffered when my mind told me I wasn’t going to make it! You scumbags are not worthy!"

His last blow shattered the vampire’s head. As he did so, he grabbed his pistol and pointed it at several spirits.

"Come on, keep inciting! Keep provoking and tempting me to my death! I want to hear all of you!"

BAM*

His shot had the effect he expected: it increased the tension between the spirits and the number of words of incitement he was receiving.

"Louis!" Laura quickly grabbed him, concerned for him. "Are you okay?" she asked as she helped him up.

He looked at her and smiled.

"Don’t worry about me. These spirits are barely good for making me waste more bullets." He replied with some disgust. "Come on." He said, looking and starting to walk towards the castle entrance.

"Louis, we must flee. This is dangerous!" She spoke.

"Hahaha, run away? That won’t do any good. We’re already here. Let’s make this worthwhile. You just focus on shooting from behind, and I’ll take care of the rest."

Stunned, Laura watched as Louis moved deeper and deeper in, surrounded by almost imperceptible spirits that were surely saying all sorts of weird things to him. Good luck for her—these spirits had moved away from her. She wasn’t bothered by any of them.

In the end, she was forced to follow him quickly.

Louis was walking carefree into the castle and was in a good mood.

’Luckily, that worked. These spirits are easy to provoke, and now they seem to have focused completely on me.’ He glanced sideways at Laura, walking behind him, for confirmation.

’I don’t think she can take that much of this onslaught of suicidal and crazy spirits.’

Now with his stats finally unlocked, he felt confident. This dungeon wasn’t as difficult as it appeared.

He just had to be... crazier than these crazies.

Then he opened the door and set foot inside.

As he did, he realized he was in a trap.

"Barely getting in, and this is how they welcome me... Sigh, how rude." He spoke.

He pointed to the side of the door handle and fired at it.

Then a bunch of arrows shot from all directions and passed in front.

None touched him.

Laura came up beside him and stared at him. He looked more enigmatic now.

It was a bit strange, but up until now, she felt she had some agency in the situation, an important part. But as of a few minutes ago, that feeling was gone.

He had hogged everything.

Therefore, she gritted her teeth and followed him closely. Fulfilling her role as a sniper.

As they moved deeper into the castle, the traps began to appear.

As they crossed a hallway, they immediately stopped. Louis looked at the floor, and after putting his foot down a little hard three times, a part of the floor fell away, revealing large fleas waiting for them underneath.

Louis quickly turned and fired at a specific spot. A castle door had opened, and his bullet stuck firmly into it.

’Pretty quick.’ He thought as he saw that guy had dodged his attack and disappeared between the halls.

He shrugged and returned to leading the way between the traps set for him.

As they moved deeper into the castle, the words and the frenzy of spiritual attacks intensified in their minds.

In one of the corridors, Louis stopped before entering and frowned.

"What’s the matter, a trap?" asked Laura, putting her finger on the trigger, ready to fire if necessary.

He nodded.

"It’s not new, but..." He looked at the hallway’s curtains, vases, and other things. "If we go in, those spirits will make our lives miserable, using those things to attack us physically."

She finally understood his concerns, so they tried to turn around, but the two hallways on either side were the same or worse.

Looking back, Louis realized that the vampires following them had prepared several things behind him. Those bastards were moving between rooms, and it was hard to catch them.

And each room had even more traps than the outside. Louis tested it a while ago and realized that entering a room was suicide.

So he was forced to look straight ahead.

"Tsk, I didn’t want to waste bullets unnecessarily, but..."

He raised his gun, ignored the spirits, and started shooting towards the curtains and vases.

These were either shattered or lit on fire. He also didn’t want to shoot at or near the walls because there was a lot of wood and wood trim everywhere.

As soon as his fire ignited the curtains and began to burn them, the fire spread to the wood, starting a powerful fire.

Some spirits who were already waiting for them to approach the hallway suddenly moved away, as if they were running away from the fire.

Seeing this...

Louis’ eyes sparkled with a smile.

"I see. So, it could be done like this." He smiled and looked behind him.

He noticed one thing...

He aimed at the wood on the walls and shot at it...

As soon as the fire touched the wood, it exploded into fire all around.

These timbers had fuel in them. It was dangerous to do this because it could collapse the structure, but he didn’t care.

He smiled coldly, with a certain madness, and looked at all the spirits following him.

"We’ll play a little game, you little bastards." He signaled Laura not to move and started walking.

"What? What? What are you doing!?"

"You bastard move!"

"Hey, damn, we don’t agree that you were going to burn!"

The spirits suddenly became desperate as they saw him start to approach the fire burning nearby.

Some were frightened, but others began to cheer him on.

"That’s it, that’s it, kill yourself!"

"Go there, fire is water! Fire is water!"
