CHAPTER 92: JUST BE CRAZIER THAN THE CRAZIES HERE
These spirits crowded behind him, as if they wanted to push him further into the fire. Looking for every possible way for him to fall into the fire trap.
And little by little, the frenzy of spirits became chaotic.
But they also began to feel warm.
Louis smiled then and prepared to run.
"Come, my dear spirits. Let’s taste the heat of the fire!" He smiled coldly and jumped over the fire with a leap...
Many spirits unconsciously followed him, but suddenly they saw a swift figure passing below them.
They stopped dead in their tracks, but when they turned around, a huge white curtain covered them, and the nearby fire ignited it.
"WAAAA!" A terrifying scream emerged, and many spirits started screaming, moaning in pain, and also cursing Louis.
But he had already thrown several changes of clothes on them upstairs for him to expand further. With that, he turned and ran in the opposite direction.
"Quick!" He shouted at Laura as he ran into the hallway, still ablaze with fire.
The spirits’ screams slowly ceased, and many disappeared through the fire.
He had noticed it when they fled from it.
Since they feared the fire created by that fuel, perhaps that was the way to kill them?
And he had hit the nail on the head.
When he reached and began to pass the hallway with traps and fire, he could understand why they feared it.
"Shit, this is too hot." He was forced to throw off some of his clothes, as they were starting to ignite in the sheer heat, and he ran as hard as he could.
Although spirits were still following him, none dared to cross the corridor. They could not resist.
In the end, they could only watch as the two humans disappeared across the hallway.
The next hour, they encountered new spirits, but none were as annoying as the ones Louis had had earlier upstairs, so it was quieter.
They tried to play strange tricks on him to throw him into the traps, with the help of those vampires that moved between rooms, but in the end, all those tricks failed.
They arrived in front of a huge door.
"The boss must be here." Louis said.
Laura nodded. "And possibly he has all those vampires with him. The one who spoke before was him. He’s a boss who can talk." She looked at him. "Are you sure you want to try?"
Louis smiled. "It’s not trying. We’re going to get through this damn dungeon. Why all the pessimism? It’s not like you."
She was silent for a moment and bit her lips.
"If he’s a Sorcerer..." She spoke. But Louis interrupted her.
"So what if he is one?" he looked at her. "Don’t you want to be one too?" he asked.
She frowned, tried to speak, but Louis did it first.
"You can’t be something you fear. Overcome the fear and be crazier than the crazies in here. If you look at this dungeon that way, we can get through it." He smiled and opened the door in front of them.
He had realized long ago that to get through this dungeon, he had to be crazier than the crazy people in this place.
That’s why he showed them his madness before, when they were outside.
And just now he managed to win against many spirits that he could not see clearly, only because he was crazier than them.
They wanted to throw him into a trap, using curtains and other physical things? They didn’t think he would shoot at a wood full of fuel? They didn’t think he had the guts to get close and go through that fire?
Well, he would.
Even now, he could feel his skin chafing from the heat and from the traces of fuel that fell on him as he passed through that burning hallway. But it was the only way to do it.
If he ran, he didn’t know when he would have enough guts to try again.
So it was better to look ahead and be crazier than all of them.
His words replayed in Laura’s mind over and over again. She was a little stunned by it.
’Being crazier than the crazies here...’ She thought.
She couldn’t understand it, but she kept it in her mind, feeling it was very important.
She was forced to follow Louis out the door.
Inside was a spacious room, with numerous columns rising to the ceiling, which was very high. It smelled of blood and was adorned with red and black.
As they stepped forward, the door behind them slammed shut.
And some very, very old candlesticks were lit.
The shape of the room gave a feeling of antiquity, as did the whole castle. But this one in particular.
In the center was a throne, where a man sat.
[Ancient Vampire: Level 70.]
Information floated above his head, and a magic book rested on his thigh. He was about 10 feet tall. His hair was yellow, his cheeks were completely pale, and his hollow eyes seemed to look at them with a desire to devour them.
The madness could be seen in every movement of the iris of his eyes, as blood dripped from him.
He was the only decent-looking vampire; he looked human.
As soon as she saw him, Laura stopped and tugged on Louis’ new clothes sleeve. "He’s a Bloody Sorcerer." She whispered.
At those moments, numerous small vampires emerged from the surroundings and surrounded them.
[Small Vampire: Level 35]
[Small Vampire: Level 40]
There were, in total, 30 vampires of similar levels.
All identical to the ones they had seen before.
Hideous, with round, wide mouths, full of teeth above and below. Their claws were eagle-like, with five giant nails. Most of them were parched, as if they had no blood. As if they had no life.
They looked like true undead, even though a certain flame of life seemed to blossom inside their eyes.
Just then...
"Humans... The traitors of my land. Those who rose against an age and struck us treacherously." A husky, bearable voice that seemed to blossom in the light of the chandeliers echoed from the throne.
