Gabriel took in a deep breath when he saw this. For some reason, his heart throbbed slowly in anticipation.

’It’s just like trying to open a present when I was little.’

Without hesitation, he wished to see the description, and the cluster of text appeared before him.

For a moment, Gabriel forgot to breathe, simply staring at the description of the treasure before him.

"This..." He opened his mouth to speak, but no word seemed to come out.

Anna frowned. "Master, are you okay?" she asked in concern.

Gabriel’s eyes were still glued to the floating screen, his expression caught somewhere between disbelief and excitement.

"...This thing," he finally muttered, "might be the most overpowered item I’ve ever seen."

Anna leaned closer, trying to understand what could make him react like that. "What does it do?"

Gabriel didn’t speak right away. Instead, he slowly read the description aloud.

In this world, no human could see the level and health points of others. They could only gauge from the aura.

The only ones who had this privilege were the otherworlders; however, even they were restricted to only seeing levels and nothing more.

Gabriel’s lips slowly curled upward as the implications sank in.

When Anna heard the description, her mouth parted, and she let out a gasp of surprise as well. "Being able to see the level is already enough, but to see their exact health stat as well?"

"It’s not just that," Gabriel smiled. "With this, I’ll be able to tell whether I can win a fight before it even starts. It’s like... like playing a game with the debug panel open."

Anna furrowed her brows. She didn’t know what he meant by that. Regardless, she was happy for her master.

Meanwhile, Gabriel’s mind raced with possibilities. This wasn’t just an advantage. It was the kind of passive treasure that could carry him all the way to the top.

Knowing your enemy’s exact health points meant he could time attacks, bait them into overextending, and even bluff when needed. It was the ultimate edge in battle.

Gabriel clenched his fists in excitement.

’If I had this back when I fought the Lake Serpent King... I could’ve ended the fight in half the time. No more guesswork. No more wasting stamina chipping away blindly.’

Anna remained silent, but inwardly, she felt chills.

Not only could Gabriel rip abilities from corpses... now he could see their HP and levels.

’If this gets out, the whole world would flip,’ she thought. ’He’d either be hunted or worshipped... probably both.’

She adjusted the hood over her head and said calmly, "You should be careful with that, Master."

Gabriel nodded in agreement. "I know."

Due to the slave collar, Gabriel could easily sense that Anna was now completely loyal to him.

He didn’t have to worry about her snitching on him. It was the reason he was so comfortable telling her about his skills and also seeking her opinion on some things.

Anna noticed this too and was quite pleased. This was the first time that someone treated her like a human rather than a killing machine.

While she was lost in her thoughts, Gabriel activated Sapphire Eye.

His left eye momentarily glowed with a faint bluish shimmer. Automatically, without thinking, he looked toward Anna.

And like an open book, her information unfolded before him.

"Your health is running low." Gabriel frowned.

"Oh, about that..." Anna scratched her head while avoiding eye contact.

"Jelly!" Gabriel called out. The soccer-sized baby slime popped out. She didn’t need to be told what to do.

Instantly, she fired a ball of slime.

"You little slime!" Anna’s eyes widened as the ball of slime landed squarely on her face for the second time.

The baby slime giggled mischievously, which made a vein throb in Anna’s face.

Gabriel ignored the two and focused his attention on the gem in his hand. He placed the gem inside his inventory and wished to learn the health points—and just as he suspected, he could still use the treasure.

’Basically it’s linked with me,’ he thought. ’I wonder how powerful it would become if I was to use extraction on it.’

With a curious look on his face, he retrieved the gem once again and whispered under his breath, "Extract!"

"..." The grin vanished from Gabriel’s face as he saw the absurd amount staring at him.

’...Three hundred?’

He couldn’t believe it. That was more than almost all his current EP stash.

As tempting as it was to try and power it up, Gabriel decided to put that thought on hold for now. He needed every last EP he had for the upcoming battles.

The night was uneventful. After the first attack, to the relief of everyone, there was no assassination attempt.

The only thing the Adventurer Guild had to deal with were the stray ministers.

However, they were not too strong and were easily dealt with by those who kept watch.

The following morning, players logged in once more, and the various viewing centres throughout the Valerian Kingdom were once again packed with citizens who were excited to see the event!

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to yet another segment of the Inter-Guild Display Event!"

The announcer’s enthusiastic voice echoed through magical projectors and loudspeakers across the Valerian Kingdom.

At every major viewing plaza—whether it was the grand colosseum in Whitebridge, the sprawling merchant square in Stellar City, or even the backwater village taverns—crowds erupted into cheers.

"Yes, that’s right! Word reached us that this year’s Inter-Guild Display would span across three days!" said the commentator. "That means the other guilds have only today and tomorrow to catch up with the Adventurer Guild—and boy, the pressure is on!"

Back in the real world, Doodle and Noel were once again back in the faces of all game and non-game enthusiasts all over the world.

"We are back for another thrilling segment again! The Inter-Guild Display Event is officially live!" Doodle announced, his body practically trembling with excitement.

He glanced at Noel and asked, "What do you think about today’s event?"

A mischievous smirk appeared on Noel’s face. "An insider said that today’s segment would be even more interesting."

"Hahahaha, of course! You can never get bored watching Sir Broken." Doodle laughed and asked mockingly, "So do you agree that Sir Broken is this year’s dark horse?"

Noel smiled softly. After the defeat of the Lake Serpent King, she now viewed Gabriel in a different light.

"It’s hard to argue with that, Doodle," she said. "The footage of him single-handedly slaying the Lake Serpent King has already gone viral across all the major forums. He’s certainly shaken things up. However, I still don’t think he’ll lead the Adventurer Guild to the top."

"Hahahahahah! Just wait and see." Doodle smirked confidently.

"I know they’re currently leading, but remember—anything can happen anytime." Noel replied.

The screen flickered and showed the Adventurer Group who were preparing to head deep into the woods.

All the members of the group had gathered before Scarlet. Among them were the likes of Ragnarok99, Sniperbowlegend, BrawlerX, and Bunny, who was currently streaming.

Gabriel stood in the midst of the crowd. Beside him was Anna, and on his shoulder was Jelly, who was bouncing up and down looking around curiously.

The gaze of all those present alternated between the adorable slime and Scarlet.

They were torn between paying attention and being distracted by the baby slime, capable of making even the coldest heart melt.

"What is its name?" Sophie asked, her emerald eyes glowing. She brought her hand to touch it.

"Wait, don’t—" Gabriel tried to stop her, however, to his surprise, nothing happened. The baby slime didn’t fire any goo.

Instead, it leapt from his shoulder and landed on Scarlet’s shoulder, nuzzling against her neck affectionately.

Sophie giggled. "Aww, she’s so soft! You didn’t tell me she was this adorable."

"She likes you," Gabriel muttered emotionlessly. "She doesn’t act like that with anyone else."

Anna crossed her arms with a deadpan look. "Tch. Meanwhile, I get slime-balled every time she sees me."

As if on cue, Jelly turned her head and made a smug blorp sound toward Anna, her blue jelly body jiggling proudly.

Right at that moment, Alice, who had been admiring the baby slime from a distance, stepped forward.

"Let me try!" she smirked. "I’m sure she would like me." She reached out a finger to poke Jelly’s squishy body.

PLOP!

A thick ball of translucent goo shot from Jelly’s body and smacked Alice squarely in the face.

"...Pfft—!" Sophie, Anna, and all those present bit their lips, trying not to laugh.

Meanwhile, Alice stood frozen, strands of goo dripping down her cheeks. "W-What was that for?! Don’t tell me it doesn’t like me."

"Seems to be the case," replied Gabriel as he transferred the slime back into the system in order to avoid distracting the others.

With the slime gone, Scarlet nodded her head faintly and began to speak.
