CHAPTER 173: THREE WAY BATTLE: SEMI FINALS [6]

While fighting Scarlet, Jack noticed that Aria had found herself in a troublesome position.

His eyes sharpened. "I have to do something real quick; if not, I’ll have to do a lot of explaining to the guild leader."

Thinking this, and without hesitation, he outstretched his free arm, aiming in her direction.

BOOM! The fierce sound of thunder shook the battlefield as a golden beam of lightning shot from Jack’s fingers. It streaked through the air, smashing right in between Aria, Alice, Anna, and Sophie.

The shockwaves from the attack sent the four girls flying back like broken kites. When the smoke cleared, a deep crater had appeared at the spot where the lightning landed.

"Cough! Cough!" Sophie coughed as she struggled to stand, her veil torn and barely covering her face.

Fortunately, she had anticipated something like this happening and had several spares stocked in her inventory.

Alice and Anna picked themselves up as well. Due to the intense explosion, Anna had let go of her chain, and as a result, Aria was freed and had gotten as far away as she could.

"You bastard!" Alice shouted, glaring at Jack, who wore a look of relief. "We almost got her!"

Alice wasn’t scared of the consequences of her actions. This was a guild event. Bloodshed, although not widespread, was common.

One might call them barbaric, but this was tradition ever since the System arrived.

Out here in the wilderness, it didn’t matter if you were royalty. As long as you participated, you were no different from anyone else.

Further away, Aria panted, clutching her chest. She looked up at Jack, a trace of gratitude shining in her eyes.

Jack met her gaze, giving her a single nod.

"Looking away while facing someone like me is the highest form of foolishness or confidence."

Suddenly, Scarlet’s cold voice rang right behind him, and Jack’s eyes widened before he could react.

SLASH!

A thin line of blood appeared on his back. He spun around, spear in hand, but Scarlet was faster.

Her slim, elegant blade carved another line across his chest, forming a cross-shaped wound.

"Jack!" Aria exclaimed, and the jewelry on her body began to vibrate.

"Not again!" a shout was heard from behind.

"Ice Lance!"

A small blue-colored magic circle appeared above Aria’s head, and the tip of an ice lance emerged, followed by the rest of its body.

Swoosh!

One of the numerous square-shaped jewels around Aria’s neck flew out, expanding in height and width until it was roughly the size of a shield.

BANG! The shield parried the monstrous lance, shattering into pieces, shards scattering like glass.

After deflecting the attack that contained only a small amount of mana, she shifted her gaze to the caster, a cold light shining in her eyes.

"Oh shit!" Bunny trembled, seeing that intense look.

The viewers, as if sensing her emotions, exploded.

[Fuck, the witch has set her eyes on our precious Bunny!]

[Bunny, please get away from there!]

[Is it only me, or is anyone else feeling chills just from her gaze?!]

...

Bunny tried to move, gritting her teeth, but it felt as if she were paralyzed. It made her wonder if the witch, as the viewers called her, possessed some charm-type skill.

"Pick on someone your own size, bitch!"

Unfortunately for Bunny, at that moment, Alice stepped in front of her. Like a shield, she seemed to nullify all the invisible pressure.

’Getting rid of them shouldn’t be hard, but the problem is fighting all of them at once.’ Aria frowned.

Right then, she heard a muffled roar of pain. Her gaze shot toward that direction and saw a pool of blood forming at Jack’s feet.

Scarlet had suffered some cuts as well, but compared to Jack, hers were much lighter.

One distraction—that was all it took for Scarlet to change the tide of the battle.

The viewers watching from the city erupted into roars. They didn’t expect Scarlet to be evenly matched with the prodigy of the number one and eldest guild!

Damian glanced at the muscular man beside him to see if he had anticipated this.

Sensing the gaze, the man only smiled. "It seems all this while Scarlet had perfectly projected the illusion that she was just your regular Hero rank. Who would have thought she’d be so outstanding?"

’Even he is shocked... and that calm, focused look. She has more to show, why isn’t she showing it yet?’ he mumbled to himself.

On Gabriel’s side, Alofonso’s AoE skill, which had restored sight to his allies, had only lasted a couple of minutes before fading. He returned his focus to Gabriel.

His opponent’s chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm, fatigue almost visible on his face.

The tip of Alofonso’s spear radiated with intense light. "Weakling, such a little clash and you’re already breathing like a dog in heat."

Saying this, he stomped the ground, attempting to move, but nothing happened.

’What in the heavens!’ Alofonso’s face twisted as he strained his muscles, channeling all his strength, but still nothing happened.

At that moment, he noticed a bright light radiating from below. With a frown, the cardinal glanced down and saw a small circle beneath him.

Then his gaze shifted to Gabriel, who now held blood-red rope in his arms.

"You heretic, what did you do?" Alofonso demanded in a bestial voice.

To Gabriel, it was no different from a dog barking, so he didn’t respond. Instead, he started to spin the red rope.

Earlier, he had carefully placed [Stonebind Trap], and as expected, the target had stumbled onto it. He then restructured the Crimson Lotus Binding Rope.

Using the rope, Gabriel bound Alofonso in place. Even after the trap’s duration of five seconds expired, Alofonso discovered he couldn’t break free.

"Seems someone prioritized other stats over Strength. Well, that’s good for me," Gabriel said casually, tightening his hold on the rope.

"Now, let’s not beat around the bush—hand over your points!"

There were still a few hours left before the last day came to an end. If Alofonso refused here, then the Adventurer Guild could kiss first place goodbye.
