Chapter 176: Kens Memory Fragment
CHAPTER 176: KENS MEMORY FRAGMENT
After the event, highlights of the major fights were displayed across the billboards in the Valerian capital city.
Almost all of these clips showcased Gabriel’s battles, further boosting his popularity among the masses.
It was clear he was the MVP of the event; not even rival guilds disputed this fact.
Presently, Gabriel and the others made their way toward the outskirts of the city. When they arrived, blinding lights from cameras greeted them alongside dozens of reporters.
"Sir Broken, how does it feel to be the MVP of the Inter-Guild Display Event?"
"Do you plan on joining a major guild, or will you continue with the Adventurer Guild?"
"Rumor says the Holy Church has already filed complaints against you—what’s your response to that?"
The questions rained down endlessly, overlapping, buzzing in his ears like a swarm of flies.
"No worry, let me handle this," Alice said, stepping forward. She glared coldly at the reporters and uttered a single word. "Move!"
The reporters were mundane at best, and with the powerful pressure radiating from her body, they didn’t dare stay close. They instantly scurried away.
"There, easy peasy." The assassin grinned. Gabriel gave a faint nod and walked forward.
’I don’t expect you to grovel at my feet, but show some emotions.’ Alice secretly sneered in her heart, irritated at his coldness.
As they pushed past the reporters, Scarlet finally spoke in a low tone. "You should lay low for now. The Church won’t take this humiliation lightly."
"I know," Gabriel replied calmly. "But that doesn’t mean I’ll hide. I’ll fully bear every repercussion of my actions."
Sophie narrowed her eyes. "Be careful. The stronger you grow, the more enemies you’ll attract. That Liang cultivator wasn’t just making conversation. He was sizing you up."
He gave her a sidelong glance but said nothing. Of course, he knew that.
When they had shaken hands, he had felt Liang test his strength, and for the first time, he realized something he was ashamed to admit.
Liang of the Martial Palace was stronger than him.
Gabriel was secretly glad he hadn’t fought him, because he was certain that even if he and Scarlet joined forces, victory wasn’t guaranteed.
Soon they boarded the armored trucks. The engines roared to life, carrying them away from the wilderness where so much bloodshed and so many memories had been made.
As they drove off, Gabriel couldn’t help but think of a particular memory. The blue-skinned girl he had encountered earlier.
Who was she? Why didn’t she attack him? Why had she fled when he chased after her, even though she clearly possessed enough strength to send him into the cycle of reincarnation?
He didn’t know of any race with blue skin. Elves, trolls, goblins, ogres—he had encountered them all. But blue-skinned? Never.
Was it because his time in the game was still too short?
Turning to Anna, he asked, "Anna."
"Yes, Master." The huntress turned her attention to him.
"By chance, do you know of any race with human features, blue skin, and pointed ears?"
"That..." A thoughtful expression crossed her face as she fell into deep thought. Moments later, she shook her head.
"No. The only race that matches your description are the elves. However, they’re not blue."
"I see."
"Why do you ask, though?"
"Oh, it’s nothing." Gabriel casually waved it off, though he was still thinking to himself.
’So not even she knows about them. If she doesn’t know, then I doubt the others would either.’
Some time later, they arrived at the Adventurer Guild.
As soon as he returned to his room, Gabriel headed straight for the shower to wash off all the dirt he had accumulated from the battles.
While bathing, he suddenly realized something. "I forgot my towel."
He opened the door, water dripping down his body. His crimson hair stuck to his forehead, his sculpted frame glistening.
Outside, Anna had just bent down to clean the room, which had accumulated dust while they were away.
The moment she raised her head—her eyes froze.
Her breath quickened, hands trembling as the cloth slipped from her grip. The assassin’s composure crumbled in an instant.
"You—!" she stammered, cheeks flushing crimson. Her eyes darted away, only to flick back to him again and again.
Gabriel looked completely unbothered. He walked forward with casual steps, water trailing down his toned chest. His presence was magnetic, careless yet domineering.
Anna’s heart pounded. Her throat felt dry. For a split second, her instincts screamed at her to run—yet her body refused to move.
"Sorry! I didn’t know you were—!" she quickly turned her face, but not before catching a very clear glimpse of his erect member. She bowed so low her forehead nearly touched the ground.
He didn’t flinch. Gabriel reached out, took the towel from her trembling hands, and simply said:
"Thanks."
Then, without a shred of embarrassment, he turned back and walked into the steam-filled bathroom.
The door closed with a soft click.
Anna stood there frozen, her heart racing like she had just survived a battle. Her hands clenched at her chest.
’Master... why is he so careless?’ she sighed in her heart, looking at the bathroom door. But then naughty thoughts began to invade her mind, and she recalled what she had just seen. Immediately, her cheeks flushed red.
---
Minutes later, Gabriel emerged fully dressed, his expression neutral as if nothing had happened. Anna was no longer in the room.
After witnessing what she wasn’t meant to see, she had quickly hastened her cleanup and rushed out.
She felt that if she stayed even a little longer, she might lose the last of her restraint.
Bang!
Anna slammed the door to her room shut, panting heavily, sweat beading on her skin as her chest rose and fell.
No matter what, she couldn’t rid herself of the thought. She banged her head lightly on the wall, hoping a little pain would distract her from her master’s image.
"Heavens, I’ve never felt so... so... so aroused." The huntress bit her lips. The night would be really long for her, and she wondered how she would face him tomorrow.
Unaware of what he had caused, Gabriel sat on his bed. He didn’t hold any feelings for anyone. His current goal was to start his guild and begin building his base.
Besides, the person he was waiting for hadn’t yet joined the game.
For now, there was something else he needed to check. Gabriel retrieved Ken’s Memory Fragments from his inventory.
Now that he was away from the dangerous wilderness, it was the perfect opportunity to check it out
