CHAPTER 190: BAI YOUNG MAKES HIS MOVE

"Bai Young, how long will it take for you to get rid of him?" the young boss asked as he puffed out clouds of smoke from his mouth.

Despite the carnage caused by Gabriel and his subordinates, the young boss—whose name was Kiaros—remained relatively calm.

If one didn’t know any better, they’d think this was a routine event and that he had grown used to it.

In a way, this was true. Ever since he had been sent here by his oldest brother to head the camp, he had always relied on someone to get rid of invaders.

And all of this was thanks to a former elite squad member of the Martial Palace Guild, Bai Young.

Bai Young was a Hero Rank martial artist and had once been a personal disciple of Bai Tian, the patriarch of Martial Palace.

However, after it was discovered that he assaulted a female guild member in an attempt to force himself on her, he was dismissed.

Fortunately for him, the three brothers of the Eastern Village offered him a place among them. He was not only paid several times more but was also given women as he pleased.

When the youngest brother, Kiaros, was sent to manage this camp, Bai Young accompanied him. It could be said that everything this base had achieved so far was thanks to the Hero Rank martial warrior.

So far, he had dealt with all invaders and even beasts that tried to attack the camp. Kiaros was overly confident that Gabriel would be handled just like the rest.

At Kiaros’s question, Bai Young, the towering human, hesitated for a few seconds before replying.

"Some minutes at best..." Bai Young said in a cocky, arrogant tone. "However, because of his performance, he might be a bit tough to crack."

"Hmmm." Kiaros hummed and narrowed his eyes. Even though he was confident Bai Young could defeat Gabriel thanks to his experience as a disciple of Bai Tian, he still decided to play it safe.

Picking up the radio, he gave out a series of orders. "Bring out the tankers and deploy more men to the front of the mansion. Stop the red-haired man!"

His voice carried urgency, and instantly those working in the armory sprang into motion.

However, even before they could move, a figure appeared right in front of them.

"Who the fuck is this now?"

It was a dark-haired beauty with a figure that could topple nations. Her appearance momentarily froze the militants.

She held a long dark chain that ended in sharp edges, sharp enough to split metal apart.

"Fire!!!!!" Snapping out of their trance-like state, the militants trembled as their gun muzzles spat dozens of mana blasts all at once at the lone woman who had just appeared.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Naturally, this woman was Anna, the Huntress and Gabriel’s maid. She didn’t remain standing.

Quickly, she activated her silver-grade Swiftstep Boots Gabriel had gifted her and escaped from the rain of mana bullets.

The barrage struck where she had been previously, forming craters and sending smoke rising into the air.

"Where did she go?"

"I can’t find her."

"You two go, we’ll look for her," one of the men suggested. Two armored vehicles mounted with monstrous mana cannons drove out of the armory, heading toward Gabriel’s location.

Anna crouched behind a heavy gun mount, watching the armored vehicles roll out.

She didn’t give chase, knowing her master was more than capable of handling them.

"Meanwhile, I’ll destroy this place and make it unbearable for them," she muttered, eyes burning with determination.

"Look at her—"

That person never finished his words. A thick chain curled around his neck, draining the blood from his face until he was as white as a sheet.

Then, with a flick of her wrist, his neck snapped, spraying a fountain of blood.

Seeing how easily one of them was killed, the others trembled in dread. Instinctively, their fingers tightened on their triggers, and they began firing wildly without even aiming.

After a while, the smoke cleared again.

Anna’s figure reappeared, dashing forward with her chain whipping like a serpent.

"Run! She’s a monster!" one of the men shouted, but it was far too late.

CLANG!

The chain wrapped around the barrel of a mana cannon, crushing it like tin.

With a yank, she ripped the cannon off its mount and hurled it into another squad. The crash shook the entire chamber, and several men screamed as the weapon detonated in their midst.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Outside, Gabriel noticed that more men were beginning to pour out from all directions.

He didn’t need to be a genius to know that the higher-ups had realized he was a threat and were targeting him.

Well, he openly welcomed them with open arms.

The armored vehicles charged toward Gabriel. The heavy engines roared, spitting sparks as the gunners readied to unleash.

Gabriel stopped in the middle of the street, Crimson Judgement glinting faintly. His eyes flicked toward the vehicle barrels aimed directly at him.

He raised his blade and channeled about 200 mana points into it.

The sword pulsed, faint veins of red light crawling along its edge. He slashed once, casually.

BOOOOOOM!

The shockwave tore through the air, splitting the streets beneath him. The front vehicle split down the middle like a log beneath an axe.

The second screeched to a halt, men scrambling to get out. They didn’t even have the chance to scream before arrows rained down from above, skewering them.

The vehicle’s turret rotated, its barrel glowing as mana surged through its circuits. Sparks crackled, and then...

RATATATATA!

Blue-white bullets of compressed mana streaked across the street, smashing into buildings and spraying shards of stone and glass everywhere.

Gabriel quickly sheathed his sword and activated the Devil Mirage technique, dashing forward.

SWOOSH!

The shooter couldn’t follow up, confusion clouding his eyes as he saw multiple targets.

"What the heavens... what kind of skill is this?" In a desperate attempt to hit the target, the shooter fired randomly, even striking his own men.

During the chaos, he didn’t notice when Gabriel appeared right in front of the armored vehicle and smashed his fist into it, containing over 200 points of Strength.

BANG!

Gabriel’s fist struck with the speed of a moving trailer. The front of the vehicle crumpled as it was sent flying, its entire section detonating in a blaze of fire and twisted metal.

BOOOOOOM!

Several green messages announcing his kill count flashed across Gabriel’s retina, but his expression remained cold as he marched forward, cutting down enemies like paper.

From the mansion, Kiaros’s smile faltered for the first time. Smoke curled around his lips as his cigarette trembled.

"Bai Young..." he muttered, watching the red-haired figure march through fire and rubble without slowing. "If you don’t crush him now, this entire camp will burn."
