God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!
Chapter 194: Escape!
CHAPTER 194: ESCAPE!
The path was clear now, and Gabriel sprinted forward without hesitation.
It didn’t take long before Gabriel entered the boss’s "mansion."
Inside, Gabriel found a few bandits lying on the ground. He didn’t even glance at them.
Thanks to his high perception stats, he could sense that his true target was getting farther away by the second; he could practically smell the fear.
"Master!" Anna called, running up behind. "The boss, he’s trying to escape. The back garage—"
Gabriel paused, eyes already scanning for the fastest route. There. A side pathway around the mansion, likely leading to the vehicle hangar.
Without another word, Gabriel blurred into motion, Anna close on his heels. Bunny, Ragnarok99, and BrawlerX came rushing into the compound a moment later from another approach.
"Where’s the boss?!" Ragnarok99 asked as he arrived at the scene.
"On the run," Anna replied over her shoulder. She pointed to the back of the compound. "Garage!"
Ragnarok99 exchanged a quick look with his friends and grinned. "No way we’re letting the big bad get away. Let’s go!"
The three players dashed after Gabriel and Anna.
Rumble! The deep growl of a powerful engine sprang to life just as Gabriel and Anna rounded the corner to the garage area. Inside the corrugated metal hangar, the headlights of an armored truck flashed on, momentarily blinding them.
Gabriel caught a glimpse of Kairos through the windshield, furiously shouting at a terrified driver. The armored truck’s tires spun, kicking up dust as it zoomed forward out of the hangar onto a dirt road that led around the outskirts of camp.
A bandit—one of those left at the garage—saw Gabriel and bravely (or stupidly) raised his rifle. Anna’s chain silenced him before he could even fire; the spiked end of the chain punched through his chest and yanked him aside.
Gabriel did not break stride. As the armored truck drove away, the ground below Gabriel exploded, and his body shot forward like a bullet. He charged at the moving truck with every ounce of strength he could muster, kicking up a trail of dust behind him.
The players and Anna stared for a heartbeat, astonished by the sheer velocity. Gabriel was moving so fast his form blurred, almost as if teleporting forward in bursts. In seconds, he cleared a hundred meters, then two hundred, in hot pursuit of the fleeing vehicle.
"Holy... He’s keeping up with a truck!" BrawlerX exclaimed, eyes bulging.
Bunny’s system camera struggled to keep Gabriel in frame as she streamed the unbelievable chase. Chat exploded:
[He’s like a friggin’ cheetah! Is this still an RPG or did we switch to Fast & Furious?]
[Sir Broken going vroom!]
[How high is his Agility stat?! This is unreal.]
Inside the armored truck, Kairos glanced at the side mirror and felt a bolt of pure dread. That man was chasing them on foot—and gaining.
"Faster, you imbecile!" Kairos shouted, pressing the cold barrel of his pistol against the driver’s temple. The man behind the wheel shivered but stomped the accelerator. The engine roared louder, the truck jostling over the uneven terrain as it picked up speed.
Gabriel was only ten meters behind now, then eight... six... The gap shrank with each superhuman stride.
Kairos’s hand trembled around his gun, and with a face as pale as a ghost he ordered, "Get him off us! Shake him off or you’re dead!"
The driver, panic in his eyes, yanked the wheel hard to the right. The heavy truck swerved abruptly, kicking up a storm of sand and debris at Gabriel.
For a moment, Gabriel lost visual contact, a cloud of dust engulfing him. He skidded to a halt to avoid running blind. The truck surged ahead, widening the gap once more.
Kairos allowed himself a savage grin of hope. "Ha! Eat our dust, freak!"
But that grin vanished as quickly as it came. When the dust settled, Kairos could see in the mirror: Gabriel was still coming, now veering back onto the road, accelerating again like an inhuman machine.
"He... he doesn’t know when to quit!" the driver cried, white-knuckling the steering wheel. The truck barreled forward. They were approaching the outer perimeter of the camp.
If they could just break through and get into the wilderness, maybe—just maybe—they could outrun him.
On the walls of the camp, SniperBowLegend tracked the chase. As an archer, he had invested heavily in perception.
Therefore, he could follow the truck’s speed to a certain level. Still, the chase was getting farther from the camp; soon, line of sight would be gone.
SniperBowLegend narrowed his eyes as he drew the string of his bow and began pouring every remaining Mana Point he had left into it, infusing the arrow until it glowed a fierce sapphire blue.
He drew the bowstring back to his cheek, the weapon creaking under the strain. He saw Gabriel in pursuit, and beyond, the armored truck bouncing wildly along the dirt path, about to break through the fence line.
For an instant, time seemed to freeze.
Then he released.
FWISH! FWOOOSH!
The arrow whistled through the air like a falling star. It streaked past Gabriel with a sharp whoosh, making him glance up in surprise. With monstrous accuracy, the mana-charged arrow slammed into the rear tire of the truck.
BOOM! The arrow exploded on impact. The back of the armored truck jerked downward, sparks flying as the rim gouged into the dirt.
"Hold on!" the driver screamed, fighting the wheel as the truck fishtailed violently. Kairos was thrown sideways, smashing his shoulder against the interior with a pained grunt. He saw the fence ahead and knew they weren’t going to make a clean break.
"Stop! STOP!" Kairos yelled, abandoning thoughts of escape for sheer survival. He lunged, trying to grab the wheel, but it was too late...
