CHAPTER 276: THE GUILD LEADERS ARE ALSO PARTICIPATING?

If you haven’t checked it out, please do the previous Chapter has been fixed and replaced with the right one.

...

"This stuff happens so randomly that no one has an accurate memory of everything that transpired the last time... and I guess it’ll be the same for the next generations as well."

"Actually, this time the next generation might have a recollection of it."

"Alice is right, the world is more advanced now."

On the roof of the towering Adventurer Guild, a group of three discussed among themselves while they looked at the looming red timer that appeared like a countdown to doom.

In a way, it was... because during this event, most of the natives would perish, and the few players who survived would return back to the beginner villages.

It was the reason why most guilds, including the adventure guild, planned to use the otherworlders as cannon fodder.

Those present on the roof were three beauties with extremely hot bodies, all wearing fur armor that clung tightly to their skin.

Scarlet wore a light, intricately designed black armor, while Lilly dressed professionally in a fitted white suit paired with glasses.

As for Alice, she wore a black jumpsuit with the zipper purposely pulled halfway down, giving a teasing glimpse to whoever dared to look.

But you could only look — anything more than that and you might lose your arms... or even your life.

The crimson light reflected in Scarlet’s eyes as she spoke. "According to the book, the towers that descended last time were called Stone Towers."

"So you’re trying to say it’s random?" Alice asked, her interest piqued.

It was a rare sight — she was not the type to be bothered by history or scholarly stuff.

"Yes," Scarlet replied confidently. "I have a feeling they want to keep us on our toes."

"Considering that the name starts with ’Blood,’ whatever creatures those towers will spawn will definitely have close connections to blood."

Lilly asked right at that moment, "Scarlet, what do we do? Since he left the guild, most of the players have left as well, so..."

"That shouldn’t be possible," Scarlet cut in. "Although it won’t be a joint force, we’ll help each other along the way. Knowing the kind of person he is, I’m sure he’ll reciprocate the action."

It wasn’t as if she wanted to leech off Gabriel just because he currently had more manpower. The truth was that they were now sworn allies — and in an alliance, both sides were supposed to help each other.

During this event, there was a huge possibility that the top guilds would participate as well.

In fact, that was almost a hundred percent certain.

And because of what had transpired during the Inter-Guild Display Event, it was safe to say that Olympus, the Holy Church, Crimson Star, and White Flame — as well as the Tempest and Engeburn military — all hated the Adventurer Guild.

Their hatred was mostly directed toward Gabriel, which meant both Broken Dawn and the Adventurer Guild would be targeted.

They didn’t only need to worry about the creatures spawning from the towers but also about their fellow humans.

Crimson Star Base

A red-haired woman with dark circles under her eyes sat with one leg crossed over the other, her gaze fixed on the large screen showing the countdown timer below. A red glass of liquid danced in her grasp.

She didn’t say a word. However, the way her red eyes glinted with murder made it clear that the leader of Crimson Star had plans for the upcoming Tower Descent.

Martial Palace

In the courtyard of the Martial Palace branch located on the outskirts of the Valerian Kingdom, dozens of martial artists could be seen training — sweating as if they had just run a marathon.

The one overseeing their training was Liang himself, hands clasped behind his back.

A fair number of players had joined the Martial Palace. Before Broken Dawn’s rise, it was regarded as one of the top NPC guilds to join.

The first place would, without a doubt, have gone to the Olympus Guild — but that guild was rather exclusive and didn’t accept otherworlders.

Since the Martial Palace didn’t share the same beliefs, their guild overflowed with players.

Combining it with the branch at Tianlan, it could be said that the Martial Palace had one of the largest networks of fighters across the human continent .

The courtyard trembled slightly as Liang’s aura flared. His gaze swept across the training grounds. "Again," he ordered calmly.

The disciples roared in response and resumed their drills with renewed intensity, their fists cracking the air with explosive force.

Evelyn calmly stepped beside him, raising a single eyebrow before asking in a soft tone, "You seem very excited about the towers."

Liang couldn’t help but grin widely. "Ever since I saw his performance after the event, I’ve been itching to face him... This... is the best time."

He turned toward the crimson timer glowing faintly in the sky, his smile growing even wider as his eyes gleamed with restrained violence. "We’ll enter the tower in coordinated squads. The Martial Palace will not lose to the Adventurer Guild or Broken Dawn again."

"Well, you shouldn’t be scared of that happening," Evelyn smirked.

The smile on Liang’s face faded slowly as he turned his gaze back to his childhood friend. "Do you know something that I don’t?"

Evelyn’s lips curved slightly as she looked up at the red timer above the clouds. "Let’s just say..." she began softly, brushing her long silver hair back, "...the guild leaders aren’t planning to sit this one out. All of them have already shown interest in the towers. Even the Patriarch."

Liang’s brows furrowed, a brief flicker of shock passing through his eyes. "Father?"

"Yes," Evelyn nodded. "I received reports this morning. Even the leaders of Crimson Star and White Flame have shown interest. They all want a piece of whatever’s inside those towers."

A brief silence hung in the air as the sound of fists striking practice dummies echoed through the courtyard.

"The towers are unpredictable," Evelyn continued thoughtfully. "Even the world’s oldest scholars couldn’t document what really happened the last time they appeared. Some records say the towers contained fragments of ancient gods. Others say they were trials—constructed by higher beings to test civilization."

Liang tilted his head, a spark of curiosity in his eyes. "Higher beings?"

She nodded. "Yes. But none of it was ever confirmed. The only thing everyone agreed on... was that those who survived the towers changed. Forever."

"That explains it all then," Liang commented with a frown, realizing the Tower Descent event would be far more deadly and serious than the Inter-Guild Display Event.

Unlike that event — which was restricted to vice guild leaders — there was a high possibility that the old monsters who had been asleep all this while would awaken once more.

Liang suddenly thought of something and asked, "How about Thomas Voss?"

"That guy? I doubt even his daughter knows where he is. But who knows? He didn’t see the last tower, so I’m sure he’ll want to check it out this time."

Olympus Guild — Bastion

Similar to the other guilds, Olympus was in full preparation mode. Everyone was actively training or hunting in the wild to increase their strength before the countdown hit zero.

Inside the guild’s massive fortress, the sound of clashing blades, roaring beasts, and exploding mana echoed across the training fields. The grounds shook from the sheer intensity of combat drills.

At the highest platform of the mini-city, Jack Arfield — the Hero-Rank Vice Guild Master of Olympus — stood quietly. His golden armor gleamed faintly under the morning sun, and his cloak fluttered behind him like a divine banner.

Beside him was Aria, the third-in-command and daughter of Ares Durnhold. Her cold, listless expression made it clear she wasn’t concerned with whatever was happening.

As usual, she was adorned with gleaming jewelry that sparkled under the sunlight. Her dark hair flowed down her back like a waterfall, and her calm expression made it hard to guess what she was thinking.

Jack glanced at her and broke the silence. "You’re not nervous?"

Aria slowly turned her gaze toward him, her tone flat. "Nervous? For what reason would I be? If the towers bring danger, then it only means we’ll have another opportunity to prove Olympus’ supremacy."

Jack let out a small chuckle. "You really are your father’s daughter."

She didn’t respond — she only kept staring at the red timer hovering faintly above the city. The glow reflected in her icy blue eyes, giving her an almost divine yet chilling aura.

She watched the guild members train for several seconds, then softly asked, "When is Father coming?"

Jack’s expression remained neutral as he replied, "Soon."

"Good." Her eyes flashed sharply. "This time, we’ll crush all of them!"
