CHAPTER 283: VAMPIRE’S ATTACK!!

ChaosKnight Guild...

They were not doing well.

"WHO STEPPED ON THE RUNE AGAIN?!"

"It wasn’t me!"

"You idiots! This is why we lose events! Move in formation!" ChaosCleric barked at one player.

In front of them was IceQueen. She moved fluidly and carried the entire team along; however, the members who had already died a couple of times and lost levels were cautious and anxious.

One of them checked the rankings and gritted his teeth.

"Broken Dawn is already on Floor 5!"

"What? That camp guild?!"

"Shut up and clear the room!"

Because of their nerves they argued more than they cooperated.

To make matters worse, their exploration was currently being streamed, garnering viewers who bashed them mercilessly.

Their stream viewers were flaming them.

[chaos no knight]

[bro how y’all got a dev sponsor and still struggle to clear a floor]

[broken dawn better than yall]

Watching the reaction, IceQueen’s expression darkened and she couldn’t help but snap at her teammate.

"Stop embarrassing yourself. Keep your eyes open. If one of you pulls any silly stunt again, I’ll personally—Campo—kill you."

When they heard those words, they immediately swallowed a mouthful of saliva and continued moving, not even daring to make as much as a noise.

Back to Gabriel.

Some time later, Broken Dawn reached Floor 6, and so far none of them had died — including the gunslingers, whose close-combat skills were severely lacking since they were mostly ranged shooters.

[BLOOD TOWER — FLOOR 6]

This floor was different again.

It was a wide, square arena with pillars and blood pools. The monsters here weren’t active; they were lurking in the pools.

"Gunslingers, prepare," he said.

The gunslingers modded and channeled mana into their respective Hellfire turrets, causing them to hum softly through the floor.

Samantha summoned her knights, and they appeared — their hollow eyes filled with eagerness to fight.

Gabriel threw a small stone into a blood pool.

The moment it splashed — four blood figures jumped out, screeching. Their bodies were like leeches fused with humans.

"Disgusting," Bunny and Cassie both exclaimed at once, taking a step back.

"Focus." Gabriel cut one in half. Anna killed another. Ragnarok stomped on the third, while the last was shot down by the gunslingers.

They cleared the floor in two minutes.

[Floor 6 — Cleared!]

Cassie exhaled. "Okay... now I’m starting to feel it."

"That’s normal," Gabriel said. "We’ve climbed six floors in one run. Most mid guilds will stop here to rest."

"Are we stopping?" Samantha asked.

"No," Gabriel said. "We go to Floor 7."

Meanwhile, in the real world...

Doodle Brambleton was losing his mind.

"LOOK at this!" he shouted, jumping up from his seat. "We have Olympus on 10, Martial Palace on 9, Adventurer Guild on 8... AND WE HAVE THIS NEWCOMER GUILD — BROKEN DAWN — AT 7!"

His co-host rubbed his temples. "They’re not newcomers. They already proved themselves."

"Yeah but not at THIS SCALE!" Doodle yelled. "You don’t just walk into a thousand-year Tower event and match Olympus’ pacing in the first hour!"

Chat exploded.

[SIR BROKEN SPEEDRUN they’re not even looting]

[That’s how u know he’s been here before wait what?]

["been here before" ???]

[cohost explain!!!]

The cohost coughed. "We don’t have confirmed data, but... people have been saying Sir Broken acts like someone who has been here before."

"False." Doodle shook his head confidently as he said, "First of all, the concept of reincarnation is false! Secondly, I believe Sir Broken is just well informed... perhaps he dug into recordings left behind."

Of course, none of that reached Gabriel.

He was already on the stairs.

[BLOOD TOWER — FLOOR 7]

The moment they appeared, the atmosphere changed.

The floor was dark.

Black-red banners hung from the walls. Gothic arches. A long hallway lit with braziers. The air was cold — but not dead like undead floors. It was... refined.

Sophie’s eyes narrowed. "This..."

Gabriel’s expression also hardened. "Yeah. This is the floor I was waiting for."

Samantha looked around. "What kind of monsters—"

She didn’t finish.

Because the door at the end of the long hall opened.

A tall figure walked out.

It wasn’t a skeleton. It wasn’t a slime. It wasn’t a hound.

It was a knight wearing dark armor, with a crimson cloak and pale skin. His eyes glowed red. Behind him, two lesser figures with blood-red eyes walked out carrying halberds.

He spoke.

"Intruders... from the human world."

His voice echoed through the hall.

Sophie’s pupils shrank. "They can talk."

"Of course," Gabriel said, his eyes flashing dangerously. "They are sentient after all. After Floor 6, the Tower likes to test parties with intelligent enemies."

"Those... are they vampires?" Bunny was the first to speak up.

In the moment, most of them had forgotten the most important details.

Red eyes, dark veins, pale skin.

These figures were none other than the blood-thirsty race... vampires.

"Arg, a tower with blood in its name should definitely have these blood-sucking bastards!" Bunny face-palmed.

However, there wasn’t much reaction on Gabriel’s face, which meant that he expected this.

The others had questions, but right now was not the time to ask anything.

The vampire knight looked them over like he was judging livestock.

"This level is not for you," he said coldly. "Return to the lower floors and survive a little longer."

Ragnarok snorted. "Arrogant."

Gabriel remained quiet for a while and then stepped forward.

"Listen carefully," he said in a firm voice. "This is the first real floor. Don’t get hit. Don’t let them touch you. And avoid staring into their eyes for a prolonged period of time or else you’ll be charmed."

The gunslingers and a few players swallowed and echoed, "Y-Yes."

Gabriel summoned Crimson Judgement at the same time the lead vampire knight raised his hand.

At once, more armored vampires appeared on the balconies lining the hall — archers, casters, even one with a whip made of blood.

The knight smirked.

"Get ready to perish. The queen will have a lovely time feasting on your blood."
