Chapter 302: Blood Bombs
CHAPTER 302: BLOOD BOMBS
Meanwhile inside the tower...
[Ding! Do you wish to extract Level 56 Mutant Vampire? Extraction cost: 25 EP]
[Yes] / [No]
Gabriel chose [Yes] without hesitation.
A familiar purple screen unfolded in front of him.
[Please choose what to extract]
[+5 Strength]
[Mutant Vampire Flesh Sample]
[Blood Bomb x10]
His eyes narrowed slightly.
’Strength is always good... but I can get that anywhere. Flesh sample... sounds like a crafting material. The last option though...’
He didn’t hesitate.
[You have selected: Blood Bomb x10]
[Extracting...]
[Blood Bomb x10]
[Description: Upon detonation, releases condensed vampire-corroding energy. Deals massive damage to all vampire-type and blood-type creatures in a 10-meter radius. Damage reduced against non-vampire targets.]
[Note: High risk of friendly fire. Do not use at close range without proper protection.]
Gabriel’s lips curled faintly when he saw the description. Bombs specifically tailored against vampire-type creatures, in a tower flooded with vampires and blood monsters. It was perfect for the current situation.
The Mutant’s remains shuddered, broke apart into purple light, and vanished entirely. In his inventory, ten dark red orbs appeared, each the size of a fist, surrounded by a thin shell of hardened, coagulated energy.
He briefly opened the inventory window, selected one, and materialized it in his hand.
The Blood Bomb was oddly warm, like holding a beating heart. Red veins pulsed faintly across the surface.
Merely holding it, he could tell the thing felt... wrong. It was like a crystallized hatred for vampires.
He checked the detailed description once more, then flicked his wrist and sent it back into his inventory.
’Perfect for ambushes... or when we get swarmed by higher variants.’ He stored all ten away neatly.
After that, he returned just in time to see the others getting ready.
"Rest is over," he said calmly. "We’re clearing upward."
Groans rose again.
"Leader... at least pretend to be tired..."
"Can we file a complaint to the System about stamina hacks?" A player muttered.
Bunny rolled her eyes but grinned at her audience. "You heard him, guys. No breaks. Sir Broken is in speedrun mode again."
Gabriel ignored the complaints. He turned toward the staircase at the far end of the room.
"Formation. Same as before. Samantha—conserve mana where possible. We’re not done with vampires yet."
"Yes, Sir Broken," she nodded, dismissing some of her skeletons and keeping only a core pair.
They began to climb again.
...
The next few hours inside the Tower blurred into a brutal, one-sided show.
Floor 21 — pack formations, corridors lined with lesser vampires and blood ghouls.
Floor 22 — arched hallways with flying leech bats and blood mages.
Floor 23 — narrow chambers with vampire hounds and cursed blood slimes.
Whenever the enemy density seemed too high for a clean pass, Gabriel made them funnel.
"Back," he ordered once, pulling everyone behind a half-broken wall.
A wave of vampire knights stormed the corridor, armor clanking, weapons raised.
Bunny bit her lip, a flash of anxiety crossing her expression. "That’s a little much even for us..."
Gabriel didn’t answer. He quietly pulled out a Blood Bomb.
He judged the distance with his eyes, then tossed it.
The orb sailed through the air, arcing over the front ranks before landing in the middle of the clustered vampires.
The instant it touched the floor, it stuck—then sank halfway in.
The vampires barely had time to react.
The Blood Bomb pulsed once—
Then exploded.
PSSSHHHHHHHHH—!!!
It wasn’t a normal explosion. No flame. No shrapnel. Instead, a compressed wave of dark red energy expanded outward like a ripple of corrupted holy light. Every vampire it touched screamed as their flesh tore apart from the inside.
Armor rusted in seconds. Eyes burst.
Blood armor, blood shields, blood barriers—everything created from blood or powered by blood simply melted.
In five seconds, the entire front half of the vampire army turned into dust and scraps.
The wave washed toward their hiding spot but stopped just short of the wall—like it recognized allies from enemies.
"What the hell..." Ragnarok99’s jaw dropped.
Samantha’s eyes widened. "That is... disgusting. I love it."
Bunny swung her camera to show the devastation.
Chat went wild.
HOLY SHIT
That bomb just NUKEd them
Blood-type creatures got ERASED
Item name pls devs I NEED THIS
...
Even Sophie looked impressed. "I’ve seen many anti-undead tools... but not many anti-vampire items. That bomb doesn’t just damage them. It cancels the blood structures themselves."
Gabriel watched the last fragments of armor crumble, then gestured for the advance.
They moved on.
Floor after floor, Broken Dawn carved through like a relentless drill.
Some floors didn’t even require bombs—just teamwork. Skeletons tanked and pinned. The frontline crushed threats. Sophie controlled the field. Cassie handled buffs and clutch heals.
Each cleared floor came with a notification.
[BLOOD TOWER – FLOOR 22 CLEARED]
[BLOOD TOWER – FLOOR 23 CLEARED]
[BLOOD TOWER – FLOOR 24 CLEARED]
Somewhere along the climb, a larger notification appeared.
[GLOBAL TOWER RANKING — LIVE UPDATE]
1st – Olympus Guild – Floor 36
2nd – Martial Palace – Floor 32
3rd – Holy Church – Floor 29
4th – Broken Dawn – Floor 28
5th – Crimson Star – Floor 27
Bunny’s eyes brightened as she saw the update.
"We’re one floor behind Holy Church!"
"And two behind Martial Palace," Samantha said evenly. "Not bad for a relatively new guild."
"We’ll surpass Holy Church soon." Gabriel smirked. His low voice carried clearly.
He wasn’t bragging.
He was stating a fact.
On Floor 26, they ran into vampire priests channeling a blood ritual. One Blood Bomb solved it instantly.
On Floor 27, leech bats and vampire archers tried to kite them. Skeletons formed a moving shield wall while the rest closed in—no bomb needed.
On Floor 28, they met a mini-boss: a Vampire Commander with four arms and twin spears. Dangerous for some groups, but to them, it was mid-tier trash. Gabriel didn’t use a bomb. He killed it in under a minute.
Notifications kept coming.
[BLOOD TOWER – FLOOR 27 CLEARED]
[BLOOD TOWER – FLOOR 28 CLEARED]
Then a louder one visible to every player.
[GLOBAL ANNOUNCEMENT!]
