God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!
Chapter 311: Unexpected Alliance in Floor 60
CHAPTER 311: UNEXPECTED ALLIANCE IN FLOOR 60
When Gabriel and his subordinate appeared on the 60th floor, there was another group waiting there already.
The group wasn’t too shocked; after all, it was no secret that the Towers were connected. Depending on how fast you cleared your floor, you could actually bump into others. It wasn’t inter-dimensional like some other LitRPGs, which made it quite unique and earned the devs some praise as well.
By now the Broken Dawn members—those who remained—were extremely exhausted. Many had already given up along the way, choosing to return to Floor 0. Right now, it was just the core members and a few players left. People like Ragnarok99, Sophie, Anna, Cassie, Bunny, and a few more gunslingers.
Most of the gunslingers were able to hold out this long because of Logan’s legendary Hellfire Turret, which required them to do nothing but shoot from a distance.
When Gabriel stepped out through the door, he saw around twenty players and NPCs fighting a group of vampires.
These people were wearing martial attire. They displayed martial techniques and were extremely skilled. One could watch them fight for two straight hours and not get bored.
It wasn’t long before Gabriel recognized one of them.
"Liang Tian," he mumbled quietly, eyes fixed on the martial artist engaged in combat.
The martial artist was casually killing vampires like they were made of cardboard. His fists were wrapped in qi, each punch blowing a hole clean through a vampire’s chest. He moved so fast that a gust of wind rolled across the floor every time he shifted positions.
"Are we supposed to do anything... maybe lend a helping hand?" Ragnarok99 asked.
The atmosphere was slightly awkward, as the others didn’t know what to do and were simply standing there watching.
It was the first time they were coming across another party, and it was hard to know if the latter would be hostile or friendly.
While they whispered and discussed among themselves, Gabriel sighted a vampire sneaking up behind a member of the Martial Palace.
That cultivator was oblivious to the monster creeping up on her. Golden petals rotated around her, and those petals moved swiftly in the air, slicing apart the vampire like a hot knife through tofu.
Suddenly, a strand of her hair stood on end as she sensed a presence behind her. From the corner of his eye, Liang noticed it as well—however, it was already too late. The vampire’s teeth were mere inches away from sinking into her neck.
"Fuck!" His eyes shot wide open. He blasted away the vampire in front of him and spun, but even with his monstrous speed, he could tell it was impossible to save his subordinate in time.
"Dark Flame Orb!"
A voice rang out, cutting through the hall.
A spinning dark flame smashed into the vampire.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The vampire was blown sideways, its entire upper body scorched black and disintegrating before it even hit the ground.
The Martial Palace disciples stared in shock.
The golden-petal girl froze, hand pressed to her neck, a gleam of disbelief in her eyes.
Liang’s head snapped toward the source of the attack, and his eyes flashed.
Gabriel stood there calmly, lowering his hand, faint wisps of dark flame curling off his fingertips.
The Martial Palace disciples and the exhausted Broken Dawn survivors locked eyes.
And at the center of it all—Gabriel lowering his hand as dark flame drifted away like smoke.
But Liang Tian wasn’t looking at any of them.
He was already moving.
Before anyone else could react, he blurred forward and stopped beside the girl with the golden petals.
"Evelyn," he said, tone warm and filled with concern. "Are you hurt?"
She shook her head quickly. "No... I’m fine." Her eyes drifted toward Gabriel, still widened with disbelief. "If not for him..."
Liang’s jaw tightened. He scanned her carefully one more time, making sure she wasn’t hiding an injury. Only then did he turn.
His gaze locked onto Gabriel.
The tension in the air spiked instantly.
Every Martial Palace disciple straightened, hands drifting toward weapons or channeling qi.
Every Broken Dawn member stiffened, gripping their gear instinctively.
Even the vampires nearby retreated, sensing the pressure between both groups.
Their instincts screamed at them not to interfere... lest they suffer the consequences for it.
Under the tense and watchful gazes of everyone, Liang took a single step toward Gabriel. Everyone seemed to hold their breath.
"W–wait," Bunny whispered quietly. "Isn’t Liang Tian the proud type? He definitely won’t like that someone interfered—"
Sophie shook her head gently. "No. Look closer."
Bunny still looked confused.
Seeing this, Sophie added, "Liang is not radiating hostility."
The vice guild leader of Martial Palace stopped right in front of Gabriel. Gabriel was slightly taller, so Liang had to look up at him.
Most of those present were still holding their breath. At that moment, their eyes widened.
Liang’s next action shocked everyone—especially the disciples of Martial Palace.
Liang bowed deeply.
"Thank you," he said, voice steady and respectful. "Evelyn is a childhood friend of mine. If anything had happened to her, I wouldn’t have known what to do."
Evelyn came over and bowed as well. "Thank you."
"It’s fine. You owe me one." Gabriel smirked.
"I’ll keep that in mind." Liang nodded, a competitive grin slowly forming on his face.
Gabriel knew that grin. It was too familiar. It was the grin of someone who wanted to challenge him. However, right now wasn’t the best time. Just looking at the Martial Palace members, he could tell they were only putting on a front. They were just as exhausted as the Broken Dawn team.
"Since we’re here already... how about we work together and clear this floor?" Sophie said.
"Yes, that would allow us to clear more efficiently. If possible, I’d suggest we work together for some floors as well," Evelyn agreed.
Sophie and Evelyn locked gazes, and the two women felt they would get along quite well.
The two leaders locked eyes with each other and...
