’Hated by the Holy Church and demons.’ Gabriel’s eyes flashed sharply when he saw this line, but he didn’t really mind.
His relationship with the Church was already bad. As for the demons, they were just as despicable since they would later join Sutre’s army.
Afterward, he skimmed through the class details and realized there was no mention of the Berserker class being overwritten.
For now, he wouldn’t test the new class. He had just gotten back and needed to rest. Also, he still had a new skill waiting to be checked.
He opened the details.
[Shadowstep Lv.1]
[Rarity: Rare]
[Description: Enhances movement speed by 10% for 10 seconds and grants +15 Agility during the duration. Cost: 35 MP | Cooldown: 15 seconds]
Like the name suggested, it was another movement-type skill, but Gabriel didn’t learn it yet as he already had Vicious Pounce, choosing to keep it for future use.
In Realm of Ascendancy, each person below level 50 could only learn a maximum of ten skills.
Gabriel currently had nine, including the new Hellfire Ring skill.
Instead of hoarding skills, his main priority right now was to increase their levels, making them even more powerful.
"Master, where are we going to?"
While he was in his thoughts, Gabriel heard Anna’s voice behind him.
"Right, we’re currently homeless."
"Eh?" Anna’s eyes widened in shock when she heard this.
She had expected that someone with strength such as his would live in a fancy mansion with dozens of servants.
The reason Gabriel had yet to get his own place was because he couldn’t stick to one place for too long.
Not because he didn’t want to, but because he knew what the future held.
He couldn’t afford to get comfortable in some mansion yet when there were still so many things to do.
When there were enemies everywhere.
When there were so many opportunities.
It was the reason he had prioritized hotels, as they gave him just a roof to lay down and get to work the next day.
Without hesitation, he walked forward while saying, "Come on, let’s go get a room for the night."
"A-a room for the night?!" Anna’s ears burned hot, and a small trace of blush crept to her face.
Some time later, they arrived at the hotel.
"Two rooms," Gabriel said as he slid his card over the counter to the professional-looking receptionist.
The receptionist’s eyes scanned through the tab in her grasp, and she looked up with a bitter expression on her face. "Apologies, sir, but we only have a single room available."
’A single room, damn, why does it seem the world wants us to sleep in one room together?’ Anna smiled bitterly.
Gabriel remained calm as he said, "We’ll take it."
"Very well then, hold on a sec."
Afterward, the receptionist led them to the room, and after handing the keys to him, she left.
He opened the door and stepped inside.
"Aren’t you coming inside?"
Anna, standing like a frozen statue, hurriedly replied as she stepped inside as well. "Y-yes... yes, I am."
The first thing Gabriel did after stepping inside was to strip to his birthday suit, which made Anna’s expression darken.
’Is he... is he going to do...’ she thought with a horrified expression on her face. She had seen Neon doing some degrading stuff with the slaves before selling them off.
’Don’t tell me...’
At that moment, Gabriel called out.
"Anna."
"Y-yes." She stammered.
"You’re officially my henchman now. But remember..." His voice turned cold. "If you betray me, that slave collar will kill you instantly."
Anna stiffened but quickly nodded. "I know that already."
"Good." He smiled faintly and entered the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
Left alone, Anna let out a long sigh.
’This guy... he’s ruthless, but he’s not like other people from the Chain of Veylor... I’m sure if it was one of them, they’d have ordered me to please them by now.’
A strange feeling stirred in her chest.
’Maybe... following him won’t be so bad.’
She shook her head quickly and smacked her cheeks.
’Tsk! Anna, get a grip! You’re still a prisoner, remember? And he’s still a cold, emotionless psycho.’
Meanwhile, inside the bathroom, while standing under the shower, Gabriel pulled out his system, checking his progress.

His gaze lingered on his level and then on his available SP. Without a moment of hesitation, he allocated 25 stat points to intelligence, bringing it to 59 and also increasing his mana to 590.
As for the remaining 15 stat points, he directly dumped everything into perception, bringing it to 76.
Satisfied with how his stats were looking, he then proceeded to his EP points. He wanted to upgrade his skills. However, before he could do that, a notification popped up before him.
[Ding! Beta testing has been initiated!]
"Huh... what is this?" Gabriel frowned.
