God-Tier System: Kill Beasts, Cultivate Forever
Chapter 101: Fake students
CHAPTER 101: FAKE STUDENTS
The atmosphere was tense, the sudden movement from Harry had caused everyone to speculate.
Most of them had thought that he was Tyler’s friend, but Tyler’s sudden movement had cleared any misconceptions.
The room was made of stone and mud, with some decorations done with wood. There were not many things that enhanced the beauty, but the simplification itself was soothing to the eyes.
Harry backed a little as he realized his mistake. He was happy to meet his friends, thus, he forgot that he wore a mask.
He wouldn’t mind telling Tyler and Gracie about it, but he didn’t trust any other guy, and after the information he got after the fight, he was more cautious.
The last battle and their pushing the point of remaining ten thousand students, and the fact that those two guys had a teleportation crystal indicated only one thing — they were sent by the academy.
Since none of the students had known the motive of the exam, the results would get delayed by the time everyone would realize.
Till now, most of the students were living together, and the sense of camaraderie would stop them from killing each other. So, to hasten the process, the academy had sent some fake students.
He remembered the group who was adamant about killing students in that jungle, trying to assassinate him, Jessie and Sephie.
He didn’t realise it at that time, how the idea of killing each other originated in their heads. But now it was clear.
Many fake students were among them, spreading this idea into every person’s head.
And since just marking the thought inside everyone’s head wouldn’t push them to kill, they started killing weaker students, causing ruckus in the group of students, trying to start a chain.
Though they had succeeded to some extent, the domination of some people in every settlement had kept everything in check.
So, if things continued in this place, it would still take half a year to dwindle the number to ten thousand.
Since people would become loners or start living in small groups to avoid any fight, many would hide in caves.
This way, everything would go in vain.
"Oh shit," suddenly Harry realized something. Those two guys were talking about informing other settlements.
Before his train of thought could move further, Gracie threw a death glare toward Harry.
Harry realized he had already met her last time after the battle.
"I was looking for you, and see, heavens also want us to meet," Gracie laughed, extending her palm as if asking something.
Harry smiled nervously, "What? First decide payment, then I will give you the space rings."
"We will talk about that later. First give that level nine crystal back," Gracie asked in a threatening tone.
Harry squinted his eyes, then remembered.
She saw me just after finishing the tree, and I was running. She misunderstood, thinking that I took the level nine crystal since she didn’t find any.
It was a little awkward situation. He couldn’t explain to her, neither would she take any excuses.
Her cold stare was making Harry uncomfortable.
There was a way out — showing his identity — but he didn’t trust anyone else. Other than Gracie and Tyler, anyone could be a fake student.
"Don’t mind that, I can lower the prices in exchange for that," Harry smiled and sat on one of the chairs.
Olivia looked baffled. She wanted to grab Harry and throw him out of the house. If she knew this guy already had some problems with Gracie, she would never have introduced him.
"Why not? So, what are the prices?"
Everyone was expecting Harry to ask for cultivation resources, since other things were useless here.
Weapons could also be a nice exchange.
But opposite to all of their thinking, Harry smiled mischievously.
"Four level nine beast crystals. Since I already took one from you, give me three, and we are settled," Harry said, tapping on his face.
Gracie raised an eyebrow, listening to such an extravagant demand.
"How about you show the rings first?" Gracie asked, noticing a drop of blood on Harry’s finger that was changing shapes.
She also felt a strong emotion of anxiety and anticipation.
Harry took out a ring made of celestium, putting it on the table.
Gracie felt her heart thumping. Her mind raced against her emotions to torture this guy and question him.
But then she relaxed, noticing the guy’s tap on his face and the little blood still maneuvering around his fingertips.
Harry was giving her enough clues to decipher his identity.
He was ready to defend as he put the ring down. His friends were aware of the design of the ring. It was similar to what they were wearing, and there were very few chances anyone other than Harry could have made space items out of these rings.
As he saw Gracie tense, Harry was ready to dive into shadows, evading her attack, but he saw her relaxed causing Harry to sigh.
Harry felt a smile blooming on his face, and Gracie was also grinning.
Harry looked toward Tyler cautiously, who also had a smile on his face. Harry expected Gracie to read his clues, but he was almost certain Tyler would attack him and Gracie would stop the attack.
But surprisingly, it looked like Tyler had deciphered his identity faster than Gracie, which showed how much Tyler had progressed in this time.
"How dare you ask such a price, don’t you want to live?" Sylas asked, an underlying threat in his voice.
"Done." But before others could pressurize more, Gracie sealed the deal.
"But..." Sylas tried to reason.
"It’s okay, I am ready to pay," Gracie cut him off.
Olivia looked at the scene with bulging eyes. She had bought a ring with three level eight crystals and still felt that she was robbed.
And here, this guy shamelessly sold a ring for four level nine crystals.
She sympatheticalh looked at Gracie. How could she get fooled so easily? It seemed like she was bad at business.
Then Olivia looked toward Harry. He was smiling, and his eyes were locked with Gracie.
Then she looked toward Gracie. Her eyes were also locked with Harry — a smile wider than any she had seen till now was on her face.
’This scoundrel,’ Olivia bit her lips. It looked like this guy had used his good looks to win the trade.
Same thought was running in everyone’s head after seeing both talking with their eye gestures.
Only Tyler and Gracie had different thoughts.
