God-Tier System: Kill Beasts, Cultivate Forever
Chapter 107: Fight
CHAPTER 107: FIGHT
Harry was hesitant to attack the beast since he wasn’t sure how things would turn out. More precisely, he wanted to understand the reason behind the beast’s behavior.
He was certain it wasn’t about recognizing him, he wasn’t some formidable figure in its eyes. Maybe that was the reason it hadn’t attacked him directly. it didn’t perceive any significant threat from him.
Harry kept walking, trying to comprehend what it wanted to convey.
Gracie was still hiding, suppressing her aura to a minimum so it couldn’t sense her power.
The beast said two more sentences and then fell silent, continuing to eat eggshells.
Gracie silently stepped out, following Harry while hiding behind his tall stature.
As the distance between Harry and the beast narrowed, it sneered at Harry, as if warning him not to come any closer.
Harry halted, stopping himself from taking another step. Gracie also paused, considering their next move.
Harry took a deep breath and stepped forward. His leg was about to touch the ground when a wide stone block shot upwards, lifting his leg with it.
Harry tripped and fell backward, only to be caught by Gracie.
A low, humming sound from the Behemoth reached their ears—it was clearly warning them not to approach further.
Harry and Gracie looked into each other’s eyes and nodded in agreement.
Jumping over the stone block, Harry cast multiple Shadow Pulses and launched them toward the beast.
Gracie used her teleportation skill to appear in front of the beast, only to be slammed in the face by a stone wall.
Seeing this, Harry remembered something, and instinctively a very thin thread made of blood wrapped around her, pulling her back instantly.
As Gracie was pulled by Harry, spikes emerged from the stone wall, turning it into a spiked shield.
Gracie rushed at the stone wall, shattering it with her bare hands.
But as the wall crumbled, a powerful attack from the Behemoth followed—it had been ready to strike from behind.
"It looks like you’re finally in," exclaimed Harry, holding the sword in his hands.
Gracie fell to the ground but quickly teleported far back to avoid any follow-up attacks.
Harry poured his Qi and soul energy into the sword, slashing downward and striking multiple stone poles summoned by the beast.
Prepared for a counter, Harry transformed into shadows immediately after attacking and reappeared at the rear.
Gracie had gotten enough time to recover. By now, she had figured out the beast’s fighting style—if not entirely, then at least the basics.
She was now prepared to counter any sudden use of stone spikes. She shattered every stone wall cast before her with the sheer might of a level-eight Cultivator.
Instinctively, she hurled multiple Soul Pulses, but they had no effect on the beast.
It remained unfazed by any soul-based attacks, revealing its high resistance and mental resilience.
Instead of discouraging her, this only made Gracie more excited to kill and absorb it.
While the Behemoth was preoccupied with Gracie, Harry flanked it from behind, dodging its incidental attacks.
Just as he was about to stab his sword into its back, a wall rose, and multiple stone chains caught Harry off guard.
Unlike Gracie, Harry didn’t have the brute strength to break them in a single try.
As he pushed his body to the limit, the chains grew inward spikes, digging into his skin.
Harry was stuck—if he tried to forcefully free himself, the spikes would dig deeper. If he didn’t, they would continue growing, leaving him unable to move.
Feeling a large amount of blood rushing out, he manifested it into the form of a hand.
The blood hand grabbed the Soul Judgement sword, but just as he was about to strike the chains, the cave shook violently from the ongoing battle.
Gracie had attempted to use her skill to attack the beast from within, but the beast was intelligent enough to prevent her from getting close, instead using a physical strike to shatter the ground.
The terrain was devastated; cracks ran through the cave’s ceiling.
Harry was barely able to stand in the trembling cave. An adrenaline rush helped him focus on his manifested hand, and the sword fell, breaking the chains at the center.
The stone was still digging into his arms, but the key factor that had made them nearly unbreakable—the beast’s power—was no longer reinforcing them.
Harry shattered the stone restraints from his palms, reducing them to dust.
His blood hand darted toward the unbalanced Behemoth and struck its neck—the area with the least skin protection—but still only managed to leave a faint scratch.
Harry cursed inwardly at his own foolishness. The Soul Judgement sword provided extra power to its wielder, but he was using it remotely, rendering it as ordinary as any other blade. It lacked the force to cut through the beast’s hide.
The Behemoth roared, snapping its head toward the blood hand and crushing it in its jaws.
But that was a mistake—Harry finally got the chance to land his first real blow. The blood transformed into a spear, cutting through its mouth and erupting from its nose.
While the beast was blinded by pain, Harry grabbed the sword and ran toward the exit. Cracks continued to spread across the cave.
As he ran, debris fell on behind his back. He didn’t know where Gracie was, but when he used his shadow skill to accelerate, he spotted her running as well.
"We’ll come back for the beast’s corpse," Harry said, leaving Gracie behind.
He didn’t want to take any risks. Gracie had advanced teleportation skills, which she could use for long distances if she poured all her essence into it.
Far behind them, the Behemoth was already buried beneath enormous boulders. Its chances of escape were slim.
Harry kept dodging the falling debris, but the speed at which it was crashing down ahead of him kept increasing.
At this rate, he wouldn’t make it out.
Harry poured all his essence into teleporting fifteen meters with every step, but even that didn’t seem enough to avoid his fate—the path ahead was rapidly closing.
Just then, he felt a gust of wind as Gracie sped past him.
Harry couldn’t even see her.
He was in a critical situation, the speed of falling debris accelerated, he could slowly see the path ahead getting blocked by the boulders.
