CHAPTER 60: ALPHA WOLF

Seeing the information, Harry’s heart skipped a beat. It was his first time encountering someone with all three types of cultivation at the Elemental Master level.

This meant that the person had used Soul Transfer to take over another’s body.

What were the chances that someone had actually found a way to cultivate all three paths at once?

"No... Most likely, he is either from the Soul Clan or an independent soul cultivator," Harry concluded.

"Why was he there? And why was he helping them fight?"

He alone was killing most of the beasts with a single strike.

While the beasts showed no signs of retreating, their sheer numbers made them confident.

Amidst the battle, Tyler moved swiftly—beasts barely missing him by inches. Some attacks landed, but none struck his vital organs.

His Qi manifestating and traveling in the form of blades.

A cut on his shoulder healed on its own—not as fast as the wolves, but still considerably quick.

Tyler recalled the moment he reached the Elemental Master level. Back then, he had experienced a disorienting vision.

At first, it gave him a severe headache, but over time, he adjusted.

While walking through the jungle, his vision shifted with every step.

It wasn’t a single perspective—he saw himself from three different viewpoints. Two of them were future glimpses of himself walking.

As he moved, the future views adjusted accordingly.

Sometimes, he saw two perspectives. Other times, he saw more than ten.

One thing was clear—his mind could keep up with all the information.

Although he still struggled to make decisions based on it, simply processing the data wasn’t an issue.

Right now, with every step, the future changed.

He had already seen himself getting injured in one of the visions—so he adjusted his movements and avoided it.

Not only was it helping him evade attacks, but he could predict what the beasts would do and prepare his counterattacks accordingly.

Gliding through the fight, he slashed down another beast.

Suddenly, a beast lunged at him from behind.

Tyler ignored it.

Then, just as it was about to strike, a sword blocked the attack.

It was Harry.

Tyler had already foreseen this in his visions—that’s why he hadn’t bothered to defend himself.

"What are you doing? You wanna die?!" Harry cursed.

Tyler just laughed.

"I’ll explain later. First, go ahead and kill their leader."

Harry was shocked by the drastic change in Tyler’s attitude.

The confidence and certainty in his voice made Harry trust his suggestion.

Ignoring the rest of the battle, Harry dodged attacks using Serpent Stride. His elemental essence had somewhat recovered after his recent level-up.

But it wasn’t enough to use it freely.

Slashing through two weaker beasts—both at Level 9—he noticed someone following him.

"I dealt with the most dangerous ones. Your friends can handle the rest," the man said, still keeping pace.

Harry kept running and asked, "And you?"

"I’m from the Soul Clan. At first, I was here to offer you a chance to join us, but... you’ve gotten yourself into quite a bad situation."

"You’re generous to help us. I hope you don’t have any hidden agendas," Harry said bluntly.

The man chuckled. "I definitely have." After slight pause he continued "These wolves can grow stronger by consuming others—so imagine how powerful the Alpha must be. I’ll just help you kill it and then look for my partner. He’s been missing for quite some time."

Harry abruptly stopped walking.

Ahead of them, three wolves—each larger than the others—stood in their path.

Harry felt someone bump into him from behind.

"Watch yourself."

He didn’t want to reject the man’s offer—at least not now, when he needed his assistance.

He wasn’t foolish enough to cut the tree branch he was sitting on.

According to Norm, if this man had used the Soul Transfer skill, he must have lost his entire soul cultivation realm.

It meant the man must have been a spiritual sage at some point unless he used soul transfer at being elemental master.

But there was no time to think about that.

Harry focused on the wolves.

"You should’ve sent that girl here instead" the man hesitated and added "Not like you’re weak," the man scoffed.

Harry wasn’t offended—he actually agreed. Gracie was already at Level 4, and she would have fought better against these monsters.

The two wolves on the sides looked normal.

But the one in the middle had a golden back instead of silver.

Its head was high, pride evident in its eyes.

[Inspect.]

Finally, he used Inspect on the leader.

The Alpha howled, and the two wolves beside it joined in.

Harry waited for them to make a move.

Every extra second they wasted, his essence was accumulating—and his body cultivation improved.

Then—

[Congratulations! You have reached Elemental Master Level 2.]

Finally his body Cultivation increased.

Before he could celebrate, something bizarre happened.

The Alpha killed the other two wolves.

And the wolves didn’t resist—they just stood there, waiting for death.

The Alpha opened its mouth, swallowing half their bodies in one bite.

In 3-4 seconds, there was no trace of the corpse.

"What are you waiting for?" the man in the robe asked, noticing the evil grin on Harry’s face.

Harry was pleased for two reasons.

First—there was so much blood around for him to use.

Second—

Then, his expression shifted from serious to surprised.

Because when he used Inspect again—

The beast had leveled up.

Harry barely had time to react.

The Alpha appeared in front of him in an instant.

Its speed was terrifying.

Harry couldn’t dodge.

Summoning a barrier, he braced himself—hoping to at least reduce the force before taking the hit.

But—

Someone stepped in.

A man stood before him, exchanging blows with the Alpha in rapid flashes.

Harry could barely follow half of their movements.

But one thing was clear—this man was at best Elemental Master Level 5.

Yet, by combining his soul cultivation, he was able to fight evenly against the Alpha.

His Qi cultivation wasn’t solid—it had been borrowed from his new body.

He also couldn’t use the Qi element that the body originally had.

Meanwhile, the Alpha had to defend against both physical and soul attacks.

Harry, however, was merely a spectator now.

How ironic—earlier, he had been fighting two beasts at once.

But something was wrong.

Harry noticed the man’s injuries were accumulating—while the Alpha kept healing itself.

As the man stumbled backward, the beast lunged—aiming for his neck.

But Harry, using a part of the last of his essence, blocked its mouth with a blood ring.

The beast hesitated for a split second.

And in that instant—

The man vanished into shadows and reappeared behind the Alpha, landing a grave injury.

But the Alpha kept fighting.

The man changed tactics, using hit-and-run shadow attacks.

Harry, drained of essence, used his blood element to slowly cripple the beast with every last drop of the blood.

This battle was far from over.
