God-Tier System: Kill Beasts, Cultivate Forever
Chapter 79: Curious Cat
CHAPTER 79: CURIOUS CAT
Seeing an unpredictable end to the fight, Harry concluded that the Titan was already weak—it was just making desperate moves to survive.
It had overexerted itself and ended up killing itself. Harry felt disappointed since he could have gained some good experience points.
However, he now had something else to explore. He wanted to know what was inside the cave, but before that...
"Let’s try Soul Eater," Harry muttered. He was curious if he really couldn’t use it anymore or if there was something wrong with the Raptor.
"What?" Harry was surprised. The skill worked! The soul energy surged through him, pushing his cultivation to the pinnacle of Level 1.
The Elemental Master Level 6 Behemoth had a superior soul compared to any other beast of the same level.
"I guess it still won’t be enough to push me to Level 2," Harry muttered in frustration.
Even an Elemental Master Level 7 beast wouldn’t have as much soul energy as this Behemoth. The value it provided to his cultivation was almost five times greater than usual.
He sat down and brought out his soul. He needed time to assimilate the energy—something he had never felt the need to do before.
Using astral projection, he completed multiple cycles. It didn’t take him more than five minutes.
He could feel his breakthrough within reach, just one step away. But he wasn’t sure how long that final step would take.
One thing still didn’t make sense: why hadn’t the Soul Eater skill worked on that Raptor? What was the difference? He couldn’t think of a reason. Could some creatures lack a soul? He had never heard of anything like that.
Harry sighed and turned his gaze toward the cave. He wanted to see what was inside.
Summoning Wolfie, he approached the cave. His hands trembled, but he clenched them tightly to stop the shaking. The entrance was covered by vine leaves.
As he touched the vines, a cold, soothing sensation spread through his fingers. These plants were anything but ordinary—their fruits emitted a soft glow, illuminating the area.
Harry rustled the vines aside and stepped inside.
His eyes shut momentarily, overwhelmed by the brightness. Outside in the sun, the glow had seemed mild, but inside the cave, it illuminated every corner. The vines extended deep into the heart of the cavern.
He felt any lingering fatigue vanish. The soothing sensation from touching the vines now filled the entire space.
He glanced at Wolfie, who was mesmerized by the scene. Harry slapped him lightly, snapping him out of his trance.
Wolfie growled in dissatisfaction, glaring at Harry.
Harry chuckled.
Realizing the cave extended far deeper, he sent Wolfie back into his beast space.
Merging into the shadows, he followed the vines.
The silence was eerie. No signs of life. Harry could hear his own heartbeat.
The cave was deep enough that using Shadow Step burned his energy. The vines, which had seemed ordinary outside, now left glowing imprints in his mind.
Harry kept moving deeper when suddenly—he felt something—A stare.
He couldn’t see anyone, but fear dried his lips. In shadow form, he tried to bite them, but he couldn’t.
Summoning all his courage, Harry glided further into the cave.
"Churrr..."
"Churrr..."
A faint noise echoed in the dead silence.
Harry prepared himself for anything.
"Churrr..."
"Churrr..."
The sound grew louder, So did his heartbeat.
Finally, he reached the cave’s depths.
"What the hell?"
The entire area was filled with eggs. A green, sticky substance coated the cave floor.
Before Harry could grasp the sheer number of eggs, he noticed two eyes staring in his direction.
They weren’t locked onto him exactly—more like scanning his general vicinity.
’You damn fool,’ Harry cursed inwardly, freezing in place.
Behind those eyes loomed a Titan Behemoth—the largest one he had ever seen.
Harry didn’t dare to move. The beast’s gaze lingered in his direction, but it hadn’t pinpointed him yet.
Seconds ticked by. One... two... three... four... five...
Sensing no movement, the Behemoth averted its gaze and slid back into slumber, its eyelids closing.
Harry exhaled in relief.
Just as he was about to move—
"Crack!"
An egg shattered. Harry abandoned all prior plans.
The Titan Behemoth opened its eyes, noticing the broken egg. But it didn’t react aggressively—it merely watched, as if witnessing the birth of a new life.
Inside the egg, a tiny creature struggled to break through its shell. The struggle continued for some time. Layers of chitin cracked repeatedly until, finally, a small Behemoth—about the size of a human palm—emerged.
Had Harry been in his normal form, his eyes would have bulged in shock.
He couldn’t fathom how this tiny creature could one day grow into a Titan Behemoth.
Harry activated his Inspect skill on the newborn.
[Titan Behemoth: Foundation Building Level 8]
Harry was speechless. A newborn at Level 8? He had heard of such things, but seeing it in person was surreal.
All beasts had a baseline and peak potential, and breaking those boundaries was considered rare.
Humans, on the other hand, had more flexibility in their growth but started with the lowest baseline and needed external help to break through.
"Crack!"
"Crack!"
More eggs began to hatch. The scene was bizarre—Behemoths smaller than a cat were crawling into existence.
[Titan Behemoth: Elemental Master Level 9]
Harry’s heart clenched as the massive beast stood on all fours. Stones and dust fell from its thick hide as its head scraped against the ceiling.
Panic surged through him.
’Damn... What should I do?’
He had remained hidden in the shadows so far, but now that the Behemoth was awake, he had no idea what would happen next.
Harry made his decision. At full speed, he glided toward the exit.
As the shadow moved, the Behemoth’s eyes locked onto him. A shiver ran down Harry’s spine under its immense pressure.
The beast stomped its foot.
Reacting instantly, Harry emerged from the shadows—just in time. A stone spike erupted from the ground, piercing the ceiling.
His breath came in ragged gasps. He had dodged by mere inches.
Had he remained in shadow form for even a fraction of a second longer, the spike would have impaled him.
His mind raced faster than ever. He activated Serpent Stride, weaving unpredictably.
Glancing back, he saw the stone spikes covering the path behind him. So he saw a hope since the path was blocked.
But he had underestimated the Behemoth. The entire cave trembled.
A wall collapsed ahead, blocking his escape route.
Harry teleported using Shadow Step at full speed, narrowly slipping past the barrier.
He exhaled in relief—until he felt another rumble.
The Behemoth broke through the stone wall, sending a shockwave that hurled Harry through the air.
Harry tumbled across the ground, dazed.
His vision cleared just in time to see the Behemoth’s furious, glowing eyes. They burned with lethal intent.
Its gaze sentencing death.
