Greek Myth: Zeus Wants Me to Be His/Her (XXXX)?????
Chapter 116: You Know It, I’m a Leg Guy
CHAPTER 116: CHAPTER 116: YOU KNOW IT, I’M A LEG GUY
The first to rush over was Hypnos, with Thanatos following close behind.
As she approached, Hypnos hurriedly asked Eros:
"What exactly is your relationship with Mother Goddess? This is the first time I’ve seen her so proactive in helping someone else."
Nyx’s consciousness had already withdrawn, leaving Hypnos full of doubts.
Could he really be her brother? How could Mother Goddess possibly give birth to a human?
"Brother?"
Thanatos also tilted her head in confusion, gazing at Eros.
"Grown-up stuff. Kids shouldn’t ask too many questions. Go play."
Eros ruffled Hypnos’ head affectionately, though his words were anything but gentle.
Then, in the very next moment, he turned to Thanatos.
"That’s right. I am your big brother. So from now on, just call me Big Brother."
The blatant favoritism made Hypnos tremble with rage. She was already gearing up to launch into a rant, but Eros managed to distract her just in time. Now wasn’t the right moment to deal with these twin loli goddesses.
After all, he still had the delicious fruits of victory to savor.
"Eros, I’m so glad you’re okay."
Just as he wrapped up his conversation with Hypnos, Athena stepped forward and momentarily blocked the others from approaching.
Sometimes, being too charming and popular wasn’t a good thing.
Athena’s face finally broke into a radiant smile. This trip to the Underworld had accomplished more than expected, resolving the crisis aboveground and bringing her good news.
"When I saw you swallowed by the abyss with my own eyes, I thought you were lost forever. Seeing you here in the Underworld... it’s truly a relief."
Not only could she see Eros again, but seeing him fight for humanity on the surface stirred something even deeper in Athena’s heart.
"Also, I owe you an apology, for using your blood to model the new humans without permission."
Athena bowed slightly, her tone apologetic. At the time, she thought Eros would never return, but now that he stood before her, it felt only right to explain.
It had to be said: Athena really knew how to carry herself. No diva airs, always composed and respectful, an absolute delight to deal with.
"No need to be so formal. I should be the one thanking you."
After all, his escape from Tartarus had been thanks to that very move, which also gave him a trump card in the form of the Debt King Form. Athena truly was a godsend for him.
Forget Artemis, Athena was the true treasure in Eros’ heart.
"Athena, you know this human well?"
Just as Eros was thinking that, a pair of impossibly long legs stepped into view. Artemis had arrived.
She really was tall. Standing beside Athena, she easily had a head’s height over her, and was nearly level with Eros himself.
If Eros put her in heels, she’d probably even tower over him.
Her figure was just as striking. Under her white gauze dress, her pale legs were on full display. Long, slender, with just enough muscle definition to suggest both grace and power.
Soft curves and raw strength coexisted, and thanks to their length and perfect proportions, her legs still looked slim and elegant.
What legs! Incredible legs!
Eros couldn’t look away. For a moment, he even forgot Athena standing beside him, and the still-unresolved situation with Hades.
"Yeah, we’re friends," Athena replied, her voice tinged with a hint of sourness.
She normally didn’t care about things like this, but having her charm so clearly outshined made her feel a little unsettled.
Still, she suppressed the feeling quickly. After all, she had no romantic interest in Eros. They were just friends.
As for Artemis, she didn’t mind Eros’s openly heated gaze at all. As the goddess of the wilds and the hunt, she was used to wearing even skimpier clothes. A little staring didn’t faze her.
Still, her expression darkened as she stared at Eros.
He couldn’t help but wonder: had he offended her somehow?
"Human, you’re the one who messed with my little sister, aren’t you?"
She eyed Eros with clear hostility, bow still in hand, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.
Eros blinked, finally catching on to what she meant.
"Ahem. Goddess, what do you mean? Apollo and I are absolutely innocent. Where would the harm be in that?"
"You call her by name so casually, and you still claim innocence?!"
Artemis’s glare intensified.
Not long ago, she returned to Olympus only to find Apollo in a terrible mental state, shut away from the world, worrying her deeply.
After some investigation, she found the culprit: a certain human named Eros.
She was so furious that she took up her bow and scoured the earth, hunting the one who had harmed her sister.
She only stopped when she learned that Eros was supposedly dead.
But now he had returned, looking quite lively at that, and all the old grudges flared up anew.
"We’re friends! Isn’t it normal to call her by name?"
Eros tried to defend himself, but arguments were useless before a woman with a grudge.
Thankfully, Athena stepped in to calm things down.
"Artemis, you know that’s not what really happened. What happened to Apollo wasn’t Eros’s fault."
"Don’t get worked up. Once we return and tell her Eros is alive, she’ll be fine."
While easing Artemis’s anger, Athena explained the full story to Eros.
On the day Typhon swallowed him, Athena and Apollo had arrived in time to witness it firsthand.
Prometheus was fine, regretful but composed. But Apollo, who had already lost Eros once before, took it hard. Her already-devoted heart was shattered.
She returned home listless and shut herself away from everyone.
Fortunately, she was still the goddess of light and not the sun goddess, or Olympus might have ended up in eternal darkness, like that ancient Japanese myth.
Eros found the whole thing a bit strange.
He hadn’t even made a real move on Apollo yet, why did it feel like she was already falling for him?
Ah well. Details. Once he reached Olympus, he’d comfort her, make things right, and seal the deal!
With a look of concern on the outside, Eros was absolutely glowing inside.
"By the way, Athena, if you’re not in a rush, would you mind waiting a bit here in the Underworld?"
Eros finally remembered the other reason he’d wanted to speak with Athena.
"Wait for me? Why?"
Athena raised an eyebrow, curious. Her mission with the new humans was complete, and she didn’t have any pressing tasks.
So she agreed, then turned to Artemis.
"How about you? We rarely come to the Underworld. Want to stay a while?"
The two of them had a good relationship, and both were also close with Persephone.
But Artemis, still fuming from her earlier loss to Hades and Eros’s provoking presence, had no desire to linger.
"No thanks. The deathly air here is too stifling for me. I’ll be heading back."
Before leaving, Artemis shot one last glare at Eros.
The meaning was clear: This time, I’ll let it go. Next time, you won’t be so lucky.
Eros just shrugged.
Another beautiful goddess had taken a special interest in him, what could he do? The curse of being too charming.
What’s that? You say it’s negative attention?
Fool! Haven’t you heard of the reverse affection theory, championed by the God of Strategy?
That aloof little moon goddess? Sooner or later, she’d turn into a lovestruck tech-idol next door!
He watched those long legs vanish into streaks of divine light in the sky, feeling more than a little wistful.
"Her legs are long, huh?"
Athena suddenly spoke up, her voice cold, letting the jealousy she had suppressed finally bubble out.
Really?! After all the kindness she’d shown him, he didn’t even spare her a look, and went straight for the girl who treated him the worst?
Was it because that girl looked better? Or was she simply... less appealing?
Athena had sworn a vow of chastity and felt no romantic longing for Eros, but this touched her pride as a goddess.
Of course she was upset. If she didn’t care, why would she have fought over that golden apple?
Meanwhile, Artemis honestly didn’t care about such things. Pride mattered more to her than charm.
"Ahem."
Eros cleared his throat awkwardly, offering no explanation.
Athena should know what kind of guy he was by now.
With a conflicted expression, she gave him a sharp glare, then turned away to check on Demeter and Persephone.
Styx had already left with the other underworld goddesses, there was no way she’d stick around and say anything to Eros in front of a crowd.
But Hecate had stayed behind, for reasons unknown.
Eros thought for a moment, he still needed to trade Perseis’s divinity with Hecate, not to mention that Nyx had hinted she could be important to him.
So he greeted her politely.
"Thank you again for your help. If it’s not too much trouble, could you wait for me a moment as well?"
Hecate remained silent. Her face was hidden beneath her black hood, and Eros couldn’t read her expression.
Just as he assumed she’d refuse, she unexpectedly tossed him her staff.
"Use this... to find me."
And with that, she fled as if escaping.
Eros blinked, confused, but still tucked away the staff.
There had been too many strange occurrences lately. This one was minor in comparison.
Now was the time to reap his rewards!
