CHAPTER 254: GOD VS. GOD

YIHUN froze on the spot.

He knew he should run as far away as possible from the entity that possessed Charles Kang.

However, he couldn’t move— not even an inch.

That seemed to be the case for Moon Noa and Ryu Sungbin.

I can see that they’re just as afraid as I am.

If the only S-Class Guide in Korea, along with one of the strongest natural S-Class Esper, are reacting this way, then it only means one thing— we’re dead.

Yihun immediately calmed down, though.

The thought of dying there comforted him. It was a shame that he wouldn’t be able to get out with his siblings.

To be honest, Yihun didn’t know that he could already talk.

He meant to answer in his head since it looked like the god could hear his thoughts.

However, he suddenly heard his voice echoing in the room.

"Why would I get scared of a god who chooses Charles Kang as their host? You have an awful taste, sir... ma’am... or whatever."

The god, in Charles Kang’s body, suddenly froze.

Then, for some reason, Moon Noa burst out laughing.

And, just like that, the ’spell’ that seemed to have frozen them earlier broke.

Even Ryu Sungbin took a deep breath before releasing a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, kid," Moon Noa said, looking over his shoulder to smile at Yihun. "You’re right. Why would we be afraid of a god who has a bad taste when it comes to choosing a vessel?"

Yihun flinched, and then he avoided Moon Noa’s gaze.

He was confused as to why the S-Class Guide was looking at him gratefully.

I just spoke my mind. It’s not like I talked back to snap them out of their trance...

"WAIT... YOU’RE DIFFERENT, HUMAN."

Yihun left out a gasp when ’Charles Kang’ suddenly appeared before him.

Not only that, the so-called god also grabbed his face and forced him to look at his ugly mug.

"Noh Yihun!"

Moon Noa and Ryu Sungbin tried to run and save him.

However, just one snap of the fingers from ’Charles Kang’ and the two were already sent flying.

I think I just heard their skull breaking...

When Moon Noa and Ryu Sungbin hit the wall, the impact of the collision created craters. When the two slid down, they were already unconscious. Worse, blood trickled down on the the part of the wall that the back of their heads hit.

That was scary.

After all, high-ranking Espers and Guides were supposed to have sturdy bodies.

"I NEVER UNDERSTOOD CHARLES KANG’S OBSESSION WITH YOU. BUTNOW THAT I’M LOOKING AT YOU CLOSELY, I CAN SEE THAT YOU’RE SPECIAL."

’Charles Kang’ suddenly burst out laughing.

And, yes, that laugh sounded like the laugh of the villain that he was.

"YOU’RE THE ’CONNECTION.’"

"No, I’m an E-Class Guide."

"COME OUT."

Yihun knitted his eyebrows, confused.

’Charles Kang’ was looking straight in his eyes, but it seemed like he was talking to someone else.

But there was no one else—

BLERGH!

Yihun didn’t know what happened, but he suddenly felt like throwing up.

As soon as he made a gargling sound, a strange force that didn’t belong to him suddenly exploded from within— causing ’Charles Kang’ to jump away from him.

What the fuck is happening?

Yihun clutched his stomach tightly, and then he threw up.

Actually, it was just all saliva.

And, yet, he felt like his stomach was burning.

He could even taste it in his mouth.

Gross!

Yihun continued throwing up until it came out of his mouth— a dice the size of an average Rubik’s Cube.

What the fuck is that?

"HOW DARE YOU APPEAR IN MY WORLD, YOU BASTARD?"

Yihun gasped softly when the dice talked.

And it has a filthy mouth.

’Charles Kang’ scoffed at the dice. "In case you haven’t realized yet, this world is no longer your world. You’re nothing but a failed System who can’t even make your presence known to your Espers and Guides."

Oh?

Yihun was shocked when the realization hit him.

That small dice is the System?

To be fair, it made sense.

All Espers and Guides didn’t have their personal Status Windows.

Hence, they had no direct access to the System.

If not for Kwak Hakjae-nim, we wouldn’t have any idea about our skills.

Apparently, the System’s Heart was damaged before it reached their world.

Hence, the Espers who awakened didn’t get the chance to have their own Status Window. It was supposed to help them navigate their newly awakened power.

Fortunately, the System’s Heart could still function as a ’motherboard.’

Yihun looked at the small dice— still covered in his saliva— and then he knitted his eyebrows.

That’s the System?

For real?

I guess we’re really dying tonight then.

But he didn’t open his eyes yet.

It was as if his consciousness was drifting to another world.

However, a huge Status Window had appeared before his eyes.

It actually had a long message written on it.
