Chapter 619: A Really Good Mother

“You—” Du De watched the child run, and her temper, if possible, flared up even more. She pursed her lips and chased after him. However, before she could get any closer to the kid, he slipped down and fell. Seeing this, Du De reached out to hold him but stopped just in time.

She looked at the child who was slipping down and viciously pulled her hand back. If this brat got hurt once, he would at least learn to get quiet. He had been screaming and making a fuss for quite some time; her ears had started to get hurt due to all the fuss these brats had been making.

However, just as the brat was about to hit the ground, he was scooped up by a pair of arms.

Startled, Du De looked at the woman in front of her, and when her gaze fell on that familiar face, her expression twisted and became hideous. “You!”

“Me.” Luo Huian arched a brow. She picked up the child in her arms and then said to Du De, “Were you really going to watch this child fall on the ground and get hurt? That wasn’t nice of you, Miss Du.”

“Don’t speak nonsense,” snapped Du De. Her eyes flickered uneasily when she heard Luo Huian’s taunt. She looked at the three other kids who were staring at her with a look of confusion and wariness in their eyes. Even though they were not saying anything, it was quite clear that they were troubled by what Luo Huian said to Du De just now.

Seeing their expression and doubts made Du De’s heart clench with worry. She turned and glared at the woman in front of her before saying to her, “You… just what do you think you are doing? What kind of nonsense are you spouting?”

“Nonsense?” Luo Huian tilted her head to one side and smiled at the woman who was floundering in front of her. She said to the woman, “I don’t think that I was saying anything that could be considered as nonsense. I only said what I saw, and what I saw was you ignoring the plight of the child.”

Du De stiffened, but she didn’t admit that she had ignored the Little Third. She glared at the child in front of her, who shrank his neck and hid his face in the crook of Luo Huian’s neck. It was quite an indication of how Du De had been treating the four kids that they would rather trust Luo Huian, who had never met them.

Everyone, including Liao Liqin, turned to look at Du De with a hint of a frown on their faces. Even though they came late, the reactions of the children were enough for them to understand what was going on.

Liao Liqin glanced up at the woman in front of him. He had always thought that Du De was a really kind woman and that she was rather helpful and understanding. Why had he never seen through her disguise? This was something that Liao Liqin could never understand.

Du De could sense what was going on in the heads of Liao Liqin and the rest who came with Luo Huian. She gritted her teeth and then said to Luo Huian, “Just tell me what you want? I don’t think I have done anything that brought you here to bother me.”

“Of course you did.” Luo Huian rolled her eyes as she turned to look at Liao Liqin, who nodded and typed a message before showing it to Du De, who frowned but leaned forward to read it.

[Your brother called me. He said that you are not able to take care of your nieces and nephews, so he asked me to take care of them since you cannot do it.]

At first, Liao Liqin thought that Brother Du was exaggerating when he asked him to come and help Du De. But now that he had seen the chaotic sight in front of him, he had to admit that Brother Du was not at all exaggerating. This woman, how should he speak of her? She was really useless. She couldn’t even take care of four children, and yet she wanted to become the head of the Country C Artist Federation.

Was this how she was going to become the head? Compared to her, a dog would do a better job.

As soon as Du De finished reading the message, her expression changed again and again. She wanted to say something, but she had no idea where to begin. After a short pause, she inhaled sharply and said to Liao Liqin, “I have everything under control. You don’t need to worry.”

The second she finished speaking, Little One and Little Two burst into tears. The two kids started crying, and once they started crying, the baby in Du De’s arms started crying as well. The sounds of their wails were so loud that every other parent turned to look in the direction from which the sound was coming.

Mutterings about cruelty and uncaring parents started all over the place, which made Du De go red in the face. She wanted to turn around and yell at the crowd that was making a fuss for no reason, but before she could do that, Luo Huian said to her, “You better take care of the baby in your arms first. As for the rest of the things, you can take care of them later on.”

Du De whipped her head to the front and glared at Luo Huian, who was speaking without knowing her place to speak. However, little fourth was indeed crying way too much. In the end, Du De had no other choice but to push the baby stroller to one side and check the nappies of the little girl. And sure enough, she smelled something funky that made her frown.

She looked behind her and saw Luo Huian following her with the other three kids. Seeing this, her face turned stiff, and she turned to look at the baby in her arms once again. After a little, troubled discussion within her head, she gritted her teeth and pulled the clean nappy out of the bag that she was carrying with her.

After that, what happened made not only Luo Huian but even Liao Liqin speechless. Though Du De did take off the dirty nappy, she didn’t clean the baby, nor did she wipe a layer of powder to stop the rash from spreading. She simply put on a new nappy on the bottom of the baby, which pushed the little girl to cry even louder.

Luo Huian closed her eyes and opened them again. Though she had expected to see something like this, when Xiao Hei told her that the baby was destined to die today, she never thought that Du De would do such a haphazard thing. She commented, “Unless you want the baby to die due to crying so hard, you better soothe her by doing a proper job.”

“You do it if you think that you know better!” Du De snapped at Luo Huian. She didn’t think the princess of the Luo family would be able to do a better job than her.

Luo Huian rolled her eyes. She handed the boy in her arms to Liao Liqin as Qi Yongrui and Fan Meilin already had kids in their arms. Luo Huian then walked past Du De, who walked away and watched Luo Huian peel the clean nappy off the bottom of the baby. She crossed her arms while inwardly scoffing. She didn’t believe that Luo Huian would be able to do a better job than her.

However, no sooner did this thought flash in her head than the baby stopped crying. Startled, Du De turned to look at the baby on the makeshift table. Not only had she stopped crying, but she was also smiling at Luo Huian.

“What—how did you do that?” She looked at the smiling baby and turned to look at Luo Huian, who simply rolled her eyes. She said, “If you had treated the child better, then nothing like this would have happened. What are you trying to do by not feeding the child?”

“Don’t accuse me wrongly!” Du De snapped. “I fed her before coming here.”

“Exactly, babies need to be fed every three or four hours,” reminded Luo Huian. She was glad that she had downloaded the skills of a perfect nanny before coming to look for Du De, or else she would have lost all face. Because she, too, had no idea how to deal with these little humans.

However, this was something that neither of her husbands knew.

They looked at Luo Huian, who had done an excellent job in cleaning up the baby and even knew what else was wrong with her, and their entire body started to heat up. They only had one thought in their heads—

Luo Huian would one day be a really good mother.

The only one who had a rather complex set of emotions was Fan Meilin, as he thought that his wife didn’t like kids either.
