Guide To Reign My Tycoon Husbands
Chapter 637: Something else
CHAPTER 637: SOMETHING ELSE
When Luo Huian woke up, it was nothing but chaos. She was sure that she had only closed her eyes for a few seconds because she was too tired after dealing with the Hollow, but upon hearing the sobbing and sniffling, she had a much clearer understanding of her situation. Whatever happened to her was not that simple.
"Why is she still not awake?" She heard Luo Qingling question the doctor in charge of her. Or at least that was what she thought was going on. Because her head was still a bit woozy, and she felt like her entire body had collapsed under a road roller. Every bone in her body was hurting, and her hands and legs felt like they had turned into boiled noodles. How was it even possible? Luo Huian had no idea.
She closed her eyes and let out a groan.
"Huian!"
"Huian!"
"Are you awake?"
"Wife, oh my god, you are finally awake."
"Doctor, come and see; my wife is awake."
Voices broke out all over the ward, causing Luo Huian to frown in discomfort. Maybe it was because she just woke up, but everything felt way too loud.
"Alright, everyone, calm down," Doctor Tan said to everyone. He raised his hands and said, "Let her breathe, alright? And please keep your voices down. She has just woken up, and it will take some time for Miss Huian to adjust to the noise and lights."
Even though it was clear that the Luo family wanted to object, they still listened to Doctor Tan as he was Luo Huian’s attending physician. The Luo family all backed up from the bed and allowed Doctor Tan to get close to Luo Huian. As soon as Doctor Tan came to stand next to Luo Huian’s bed, he smiled at her and softly asked, "Miss Huian, how do you feel? Do you feel any discomfort? Is there any pain that you are feeling at the moment?"
"I— I am thirsty," Luo Huian spoke in a hoarse voice. She would take care of the pain in her body later on, but first, she needed to deal with her dry throat. Who knows when the last time she drank water was? Her throat felt like it was drier than a desert.
"Water, alright. Wait a second." Doctor Tan turned to look behind him. He didn’t even get a chance to call for a doctor when several hands reached out and handed him glasses filled with water.
Doctor Tan: "..."
"She is just thirsty, not trying to fill a pond," he remarked before taking a random glass of water and offering it to Luo Huian.
Taking the glass, Luo Huian tried to sit up straight on the bed, and immediately Luo Qingling reached out to help her. With Luo Qingling helping her out, it was quite easy for Luo Huian to sit up straight. She then drank the water in the glass and looked around the ward; only then did she realise that the entire Luo family was standing in her ward.
"What happened?" Now that she had drunk some water, Luo Huian felt a bit better. At least she no longer felt sand trickling down her throat while speaking.
"What happened? You have been in a coma for three weeks; that’s what happened!" Yu Shen snapped angrily. He had long told his daughter not to go out and hunt down hollows and glooms, that it was too dangerous, but his daughter didn’t listen. This time around was a real stroke of luck; according to the doctors, when Luo Huian was brought to the hospital, her heart almost stopped beating, and they had to revive her.
Which was not a surprise, as the hollow was a fifth-level beast; if Luo Huian were any more unlucky, then she would have certainly died. Fortunately, he had never done anyone any wrong, and his daughter survived this great tragedy and somehow managed to scrape her way to life. If she had died, he wondered how he would have even lived his life. Maybe he would have followed suit and followed Luo Huian in the afterlife. Just the very thought alone was enough to make him relive the terror that he had felt in the past few days.
He raised his head and glared at Luo Huian with eyes red like rabbits and said to her, "Do you know how worried I was? I thought—I thought..." in the end, Ye Shun couldn’t finish speaking and burst into tears. He only had this one daughter and if something happened to her, what was he going to do?
Luo Yeqing rushed over to him and started fussing. She offered him a handkerchief and water while glaring at her daughter as if she had done her some great personal wrong.
Luo Huian was speechless. What the hell?
However, she couldn’t say anything. In fact, she didn’t dare to say anything. Because Luo Yeqing was not the only one who was glaring at her, there were three other mers who were glaring at her as if they wanted to kiss her to death or skin her alive. Don’t ask her how she knew it; she just did.
She looked at the three mers and then turned to look away. Glancing at Doctor Tan, she asked, "Am I alright? Did something serious happen?"
"That’s the thing; we cannot figure out what went wrong." Doctor Tan sighed. He explained in a soft voice, "When you were brought to the hospital, your organs were severely failing, which was why we had to bring you to the emergency room. Somehow, we did manage to keep your life, but for some reason, you never woke up. I believe it has something to do with your hunter core; after all, you are just an F-rank hunter, and yet the skills that you have are unmatched in comparison to your body."
"Most probably, your body was stressed out due to the pressure that it had taken on."
Luo Huian frowned. She immediately searched her inner core, and sure enough, she realised that the spiritual energy within her was close to negligible, which wasn’t a surprise. As she was no longer a virgin, the cultivation techniques that she had learnt as a young maiden were useless.
Now that she clearly thought about it, the spiritual energy that she was absorbing these past few days was also really less. It was just that she hadn’t paid attention to the amount that she had been absorbing, which was why this incident happened to her. The lack of spiritual energy must be the reason why she fell.
"That is indeed the truth," a feeble voice spoke to her, and Luo Huian turned to look at Xiao Hei, who had returned to his baby form. The little black snake looked quite humiliated, and even with his scales being as black as coals, Luo Huian could still see the blush under those dark scales.
"What happened to you?" Luo Huian asked with a hint of amusement in her eyes. She had never seen the two familiars in such a form before and couldn’t help but be amused at the sight of it.
"What do you think!?" Xiao Hei was still flushed in the face. "We had to give up on our forms to release enough spiritual energy to maintain your life. If we hadn’t done that, then you would have died."
For the first time, Xiao Hei felt real terror. He had known that Luo Huian was having a hard time cultivating in the human world, but he never knew that the situation was this bad. She was almost on the verge of disappearing along with her soul. Even now, he felt quite scared at the thought of her dying and leaving them without a trace.
Xiao Bai was no better. She was also quite distressed when she saw Luo Huian fall, and even till now, the pain in her little heart had not eased. Fortunately, Luo Huian was alright, or else she would have never forgiven herself for ignoring her condition.
"Huian, leave him alone. Even if we are in this form, it’s nothing compared to your health; just tell me how you are feeling and how is your inner core?" Xiao Bai asked.
Hearing her ask about Luo Huian’s inner core, Xiao Hei also perked up and looked at Luo Huian.
The two of them hoped that Luo Huian was feeling better, but imagination was always different from reality. Luo Huian sighed and rubbed the space between her brows before saying, "It’s nothing. I am fine."
"Huian!"
"Tell the truth."
Sighing, Luo Huian could only say, "It’s empty, with barely any spiritual energy left. But don’t worry; I will try to cultivate more." Maybe she was ignoring cultivation for a long time, and this was why it happened.
"Oh, there is no point in cultivating anymore." Xiao Bai shook her head as she rose to the air and said to Luo Huian, "Since you are no longer a virgin, the old method might not work for you. We need something else."
