CHAPTER 19: REGULUS VS. CHASE

Chapter 19: Regulus Vs. Chase

"mmmh..."

She let out her final moan as Chase ceased sucking her pink nipples.

"A war eh," Chase said.

"What are the conditions to this duel of yours?"

"It’s simple," Regulus said. "If I win, you have to grovel at my feet and beg for forgiveness for touching one of my women."

Chase looked around the classroom, his gaze sharp and calculating. He didn’t want any hidden cameras capturing what was about to happen. His eyes methodically swept over the walls, the ceiling, and the various pieces of furniture. He was checking for any tiny, tell-tale glints of light that might betray a hidden lens, or any misplaced object that could conceal a recording device.

"And if I win?" Chase asked.

"Then you can have as many of my women as you want," Regulus replied.

"That’s incredibly narcissistic of you," Chase retorted. "You think you’re so entitled to these girls that they have no say in the matter? Keep your women. As I said before, I can get as many as I want, but I prefer to keep things to myself."

"Suit yourself," Regulus replied.

Ms. Claire initially decided to stay out of this as per academy policy for teachers not to intervene in the matters concerning students to avoid any sign of favouritism, but she stepped in, only to remind them of academy rules.

"Duels are permitted under academy rules," she stated, "but they must be conducted with wooden swords and cannot last longer than five minutes."

"It seems the rules are the rules," Chase said, turning his attention toward the door.

"Are you scared?" Regulus taunted. "I thought you were a mighty member of the Weaverake family. What’s the matter now? Or are you just following some dumb rules?"

"Okay, I’ll play your little game," Chase replied, but a new note of steel had entered his voice. "But."

With a simple gesture, he used his gravitational magic to rip a hidden camera from the edge of the classroom ceiling. He balled his hand into a fist, and the camera compressed into a shower of mid-air shrapnel.

"And finally," Chase said with a low somewhat rhythmic voice.

He used his other hand to perform a series of hand signs, a blur of motion too fast for the eye to follow. Regulus noticed something strange and leaped backward just as fine mana threads began to form around Chase’s hand. These threads shot out and swiftly attached themselves to the foreheads of everyone in the class.

The threads began to glow, appearing to inject something into everyone. Regulus immediately tried to use his blade to sever them, but the weapon couldn’t pass through the threads.

"Why bother?" Chase said, backing away from the group. "Those are mana threads made of the infinite element. Normal blades can’t cut through infinity, and I can’t think of any that could."

"What are you doing to us?" Asked Regulus.

"I’m just making sure the academy administration can’t use magic to scan anyone’s memories in this class," he said. "This skill allows me to push your current and future memories to an infinite distance. It would take an infinite amount of time for someone to scan and read them, so basically, no one will be able to trace this incident."

"Why go to all this trouble?" Regulus asked.

"You see, I also intend to make it to Class A," Chase replied. "But as you could probably tell, I was placed in Class B due to my prior lustful acts, which I undoubtedly regret. Before entering this academy, I was what you might call a playboy, and that character is not befitting of a Class A student. It’s only because of my raw, innate power that they didn’t kick me all the way down to Class D."

"Until now," he concluded, "I have been completely celibate in all forms, just to strengthen my growth."

As Chase spoke, the mana threads vanished. "And with that," he said, pointing his sword at Regulus, "the duel may begin."

"Form, Donarstraza."

As Chase spoke those words, the blade in his hand, which had appeared to be a standard academy-issued sword, shimmered into a sliver of light. It then transformed into a katana made of a striking red, crystal-like material, complete with a white hilt and golden linen wrapping.

"But how?" Regulus demanded, his voice laced with disbelief. "How do you have an artifact? We were all thoroughly searched before we were allowed on academy grounds."

"Let’s just say I can pull some strings," Chase replied with a smirk.

"You bastard!" Regulus screamed, his fury erupting.

Regulus lunged, his blade aimed for Chase’s head. Without moving an inch, Chase casually lifted his katana, parrying the strike with a metallic clang. Regulus followed with a furious flurry of attacks—a vertical slash, a horizontal swing, and a series of rapid thrusts. Each time, Chase met his blade with a calm, precise block, the sound of steel on steel echoing through the room.

"Is that all you’ve got, Regulus?" Chase taunted, his movements minimal and effortless. "Your rage makes you sloppy."

"Shut up!" Regulus roared. "I’ll carve that smirk off your face!"

Driven by pure anger, Regulus began using the classroom walls as a springboard, propelling himself at Chase from different angles. He bounced off the far wall, launching a powerful overhead strike. Chase simply sidestepped, raising his blade to deflect the blow with a faint shimmer of red light. Regulus landed, his breathing heavy, his rage boiling.

"You’re not even trying!" Regulus spat, his eyes wild.

Chase simply shrugged, his expression unbothered. "What’s the point? It’s not like your women are enjoying the show." He glanced past Regulus, his gaze settling on the huddled figures behind him. "Look at them, Regulus. They look terrified."
