"That's great." Wade let out a breath of relief and asked, "Did Professor Snape figure out a solution? What exactly was it that forced Remus to transform?"

"Well, that's the bad news—hmm, let me think about where to begin."

Dumbledore took another bite of tart, as if organizing his thoughts or deciding how much to reveal.

"Professor," Wade prompted before he could speak, "if you're not willing to tell me the truth, I can always investigate on my own."

"Alright, well, you'll be finding out soon enough anyway…"

Dumbledore murmured vaguely before continuing, "You know, Wade, although the wizarding world and the Muggle world exist on the same land, they are two entirely separate worlds."

"We wizards go to great lengths to keep ourselves hidden. Any violation of the Statute of Secrecy is met with severe punishment—for the safety of both wizards and Muggles alike."

"Many believe that, aside from a select few, most Muggles know nothing about our world. That may be true in Britain, but across the ocean, in another country, things are very different."

Wade frowned. "You mean… America?"

"Precisely—America, home of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

Dumbledore had forgotten about his dessert. He frowned deeply with a dark expression as he said, "In the 18th century, America experienced a catastrophic breach of secrecy."

As Dumbledore spoke, a history completely unfamiliar to Wade unfolded before him.

When the so-called "New World" was discovered, Muggles and wizards from various nations flocked to the land.

With no established laws or governing bodies at the time, lawlessness ran rampant, leading to the emergence of bounty hunters who thrived in the chaos.

Among them was a group of wizarding mercenaries who would hunt anything that could be sold for profit.

They trafficked wizards, tricked innocent Muggles into being accused of witchcraft and sold them to Puritans, and were eventually hunted down by the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) as criminals.

These individuals became known as the first [Scourers].

They were Muggles who knew of the wizarding world's existence yet despised witches and wizards. Some even went so far as to abandon or abuse their own children if they showed magical abilities.

Then, in the 18th century, a tragic event unfolded—a Scourer descendant named Bartholomew Barebone met a witch, and that was the beginning of disaster.

The witch, Dorcus Twelvetrees, was madly infatuated with Bartholomew Barebone. Under his manipulation, she revealed an alarming amount of information about the magical world—including the location of Ilvermorny and MACUSA.

Bartholomew Barebone then stole Dorcus Twelvetrees' wand and publicly displayed it to reporters. He printed pamphlets exposing the "evil" wizarding world, revealed secret locations, and rallied armed forces to carry out witch hunts.

This became the most severe breach of secrecy in wizarding history.

Eventually, Bartholomew Barebone was arrested and imprisoned—not for exposing the wizarding world, but for attacking innocent Muggles he believed to be witches.

The Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) did everything it could to contain the situation, officially dismissing the entire scandal as the delusions of a mentally unstable Bartholomew Barebone. They also cast Memory Charms on those who had gained knowledge of the wizarding world.

However, because the information had spread so widely before the magical community even discovered the breach, MACUSA was never able to confirm whether they had erased every single person's memory.

And as it turned out, the answer was—they hadn't.

For over two centuries, a secretive force in America had been researching magic.

Knowing that the Wizarding world would never allow such activities, they operated in absolute secrecy, without even a formal name. Outsiders knew them simply as "The Organization."

At first, their research was absurd, baseless, and built on myths and human imagination—so obviously fake that any wizard would see through it instantly.

Some members left in disappointment. Others joined in hope. Some squandered their entire fortunes chasing the truth, while others became billionaires just to gain the resources to continue their pursuit.

But they never stopped.

In a way, Wade understood their obsession better than most—those born with magic often fail to grasp how precious it truly is.

To live in a world where magic exists, yet never be able to touch it—to be plagued by aging, disease, and human limitations, knowing that there was something out there that could change everything—that kind of gap could drive people insane.

And most importantly—magic is real.

So in the end, their efforts weren't in vain.

Of course, from the perspective of the wizarding world, their pursuit was not "effort"—it was delusional madness.

After all, magical ability was either something you were born with or something you would never have. Despite all of humanity's advancements, science had never unlocked the secret of magic, nor found a way for ordinary people to wield it.

But some things didn't require talent.

Like lycanthropy and vampirism.

In the Wizarding world, both were considered incurable curses—spread through blood and saliva, and accompanied by severe side effects.

A werewolf, after losing its rational mind, would attack anything in sight. A vampire, despite its appearance of perfection, was nothing more than a walking corpse—vulnerable to countless predators, its restricted diet being the least of its problems.

Moreover, regardless of the type of transformation, the mortality rate for Muggles undergoing the process was extremely high.

Because of this, "The Organization" had been conducting countless experiments, desperately trying to find a stable and effective method of transformation.

Wade couldn't even begin to imagine how many people had died in the process.

Those who survived were brainwashed and recruited into the Organization, sent out across the world to:

~Seize funding

~Capture wizards and magical creatures

~Kidnap underage wizards

~Lure ordinary people into becoming expendable test subjects

~Infiltrate wizarding schools to steal magical knowledge

~Train new operatives for future missions

For certain reasons—Wade suspected that it was likely Dumbledore's deterrence—the Organization had rarely infiltrated Britain's Wizarding community in the past few decades.

They had mostly focused on gathering intelligence, with only occasional kidnappings.

But in the past one or two years, the Organization had finally begun expanding into Britain—and this time, Wade was sure it was the result of his own butterfly effect.

Werewolves, vampires, and even some wizards raised by the Organization since childhood had started sneaking into the country.

Creating chaos. Inciting conflict. Fueling war.

These were their standard tactics.

During his three-day absence, Dumbledore not only captured the vampires who had attacked Lupin, but with their "cooperation," he had "visited" two of the Organization's secret bases—uncovering a wealth of critical intelligence.

Unfortunately, the operatives sent to Britain didn't seem to possess much classified information. Even their memories had been altered.

It was only thanks to Dumbledore's magic that he had managed to break through their defenses.

After hearing all of this, Wade didn't know what to say.

Surprisingly, he wasn't even that surprised.

Even real fairy tales contained blood and darkness—so how could a seemingly fairy-tale-like world be any different?

"There's one more thing I need to tell you," Dumbledore said at last.

"I brought someone back with me."

Wade froze for a moment—then realized who he meant.

"—Caryll??"
