"We'll learn it later." Wade pulled his homework back, raised an eyebrow, and said, "You should complete your own assignments independently."

He watched as Caryll scratched his head in frustration over his homework. Amused, he let out a small chuckle—until he noticed something.

As Caryll ran his fingers through his hair, his sleeve slipped down slightly, revealing a long, dark scar on his arm.

Wade's expression darkened.

He recognized it—it was a mark left by whipping.

Sometimes, Wade couldn't quite understand—Did Caryll truly change after being "educated" by Dumbledore? Did he really abandon his past and decided to live as an ordinary student?

Or is he still loyal to the "organization," merely following its orders while pretending to go along with everything?

It was obvious that he hadn't been treated well on the other side, yet when they interacted, there was no trace of that darkness lingering over him.

It had been more than ten days since he arrived at Hogwarts. Most students had lost interest in the transfer student, and Caryll was fitting in perfectly within Gryffindor. He also got along well with students from other houses.

But in all this time, not once had he mentioned his parents.

Wade had asked Ralph about it and learned that Caryll had never secretly used the school's owls to send letters to the Johnsons, nor had he asked the headmaster to pass on a message.

It was as if those two people, who had once been so close to him, were nothing more than passing figures in his life.

Wade couldn't understand it. But for now, all he could do was treat Caryll as an ordinary classmate and continue observing.

Caryll suddenly looked up and asked, "What's wrong? You've been staring at me..."

"You got ink on your face," Wade said.

"What? Where?"

Wade pointed, and Caryll quickly wiped his face with the back of his hand.

After dinner, Wade transformed an old kerosene lamp canister and a water cup into food containers. He and Harry gathered a generous meal and made their way to the hospital wing.

Lupin had returned to his human form and was resting in a private ward.

The wounds caused by Hagrid's incident had already healed, but his body had suffered some internal damage.

On top of that, he had endured a full moon transformation during his recovery, leaving him extremely weak. He could only consume liquid food and spent most of his time in a deep sleep.

For the past few days, Madam Pomfrey had limited their visiting time, allowing them only brief glimpses of him without much opportunity to talk.

However, Lupin's condition had improved significantly in recent days. Just yesterday, Madam Pomfrey had even told them that he could start eating normal food again.

When they reached the ward, Harry knocked on the door.

A familiar voice responded from inside, "Come in."

The door creaked open.

Lupin was sitting on the hospital bed and frowning as he held a steaming cup. A sharp, pungent smell wafted from it, making Wade feel not only suffocated but also as if the odor was attacking his eyes.

Without hesitation, he cast a Bubble-Head Charm on himself, finally feeling some relief.

Harry immediately grabbed his arm. "Please, Wade, help me out here…"

Wade cast the same spell on him.

Now, both of them looked as if they had invisible fishbowls over their heads, filled with fresh air. They took a few deep breaths in unison, finally feeling alive again.

"Remus, what is that?" Harry asked with difficulty. "Wastewater from a chemical plant?"

"A chemical plant? What's that…? Sigh, this is a healing potion."

Lupin closed his eyes, tilted his head back, and took a sip. Immediately, he shuddered and his face contorted in pain.

Harry looked at Lupin with a mix of admiration and fear. Just smelling that potion was enough to make him swear he'd never drink something like it in his life.

Wade said sympathetically, "Remus, I brought dessert. Do you want some?"

Harry quickly placed the food container he was holding onto the table. "Yeah! And pumpkin juice too!"

"No, mixing sugar with this potion makes it taste even worse later. I've tried before."

Lupin looked as if he was recalling a particularly traumatic experience. Holding his breath, he finally mustered the resolve to down the entire potion in one go.

The moment he finished, he began trembling as if he were freezing.

Wade took the empty cup from his hands and glanced at the thick, tar-like residue clinging to the sides. Even he couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by it.

With a tap of his wand, he conjured a clean cup and filled it instantly with fresh water.

Lupin drank the whole thing in one go, finally looking a little better.

Seeing both kids watching him with worried expressions, Lupin pulled a face and said, "That was disgusting."

Harry couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Wade opened a window and cast a small whirlwind charm, sweeping the awful smell out of the room before finally removing their Bubble-Head Charms.

Lupin didn't have much of an appetite for dinner, but he cherished this time to talk with the two of them.

"Madam Pomfrey is even stricter than when I was a student," Lupin said. "Being stuck here all day is stifling. I'm lucky you two came to visit me."

Harry quickly said, "I'll come again tomorrow! We'll have time after lunch—right, Wade?"

"Yeah," Wade replied simply, casting a cleaning charm on the cup.

"Too bad I don't have any tea to offer you—Harry, I heard your Divination class didn't go so well?" Lupin asked.

"You heard about that too?" Harry spread his hands and said nonchalantly, "I don't believe Sirius is an omen of doom. We all know Professor Trelawney loves making things up."

At first, he had been startled, but after a couple of days, the fear wore off. Now, he just thought seeing the Grim in the tea leaves was a coincidence, and Professor Trelawney's dramatics were more amusing than anything else.

Lupin smiled. "I underestimated you… I was worried you might be scared."

"There's nothing to be scared of," Harry shrugged, looking completely indifferent. "I knew she was a fraud even before I signed up for her class."

"Remus, what exactly did they inject into you?" Wade asked. "Why did it make you transform before the full moon?"

Hearing this, Harry also looked over with concern. "Yeah, what kind of potion was that?"

"It wasn't a potion," Lupin frowned. "Snape confirmed that it wasn't any known magical substance, but it was more potent than most potions…"

"Snape?" Harry said in surprise.

"Yes, he helped investigate, did a lot of research, and even kindly brewed me a healing remedy," Lupin said. "He's an undisputed expert in this field."

Harry immediately turned to look at the cup on the table, only to find it had already been cleaned. Muttering to himself, he said, "I think I finally know why it smelled so bad…"

Wade, unfazed by their conversation, continued asking, "So? Did you guys figure out what it was?"

"Yes, We did," Lupin said. "Snape consulted scholars at a Muggle university, and they confirmed that it was something called a Hormone—one that has never been identified before."
