He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact
Chapter 293. The showdown between Kailen and Jin 2
CHAPTER 293: CHAPTER 293. THE SHOWDOWN BETWEEN KAILEN AND JIN 2
A deep greenish scythe pulsing with reddish curse energy materialised into Jin’s hands.
Then he swung it with all his might, his muscles, in that split moment, screaming from the sheer force of his display.
The scythe pulsed with the reddish liquid curse energy—some of which whistled in an arc-like motion towards the constant barrages of lightning and azure flames that clashed with them constantly, causing various cataclysmic explosions to spread outward on the battlefield.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Very soon, the affinity attacks gave way to brutal exchanges of weapon attacks, the sound of weapons clashing so loud that a couple of people literally felt like they would be pulverised by the attacks of the individuals engaged in the brutal battle.
One wielded a scythe, and the other, a katana.
A paradox to most onlookers. After all, these two weapons were difficult to wield in the first place.
Yet, they were wielded by alchemists, individuals belonging to a profession mostly known for their lack of battle prowess and focus in crafting pills.
These two alchemists were demonstrating finesse and skill in battle that left many who had honed their skills on the battlefield all their lives, sitting in the dust.
The exchange of weapons sizzling with affinities clashed over and over again, lethal, sharp and deadly.
The wielders of the weapons themselves seemed to have transformed into phantoms, engaged in several hundreds of catastrophic exchanges in a few moments, a hair’s breath.
Each dealt a damage to the other, lethal.
Blood poured from mouths, innards shook, muscles tore.
Teeth were grimaced, but each opponent grew more relentless.
Each clash meant to claim the other’s life.
Kailen kept unleashing attack after attack with his katana towards Jin.
Using his infinite katana series, a cheat technique for him thanks to his unlimited reserves of universe energy, his attacks were growing more strong and deadly by the moment.
The infinite katana series attack were mixed with astral novas, ragnaroks—lighting and azure flames slashes hurtled towards Jin, breathtakingly terrifying thunder bolts summoned towards his opponent, and yet, to his puzzlement, Jin was fighting him on equal footing.
Kailen was utilizing all his trump cards in battle, including his insane perception, elemental mirroring, shadow sense, umbral pirouette—his battlestyle.
Also one should not forget that his battle instincts had been honed to a terrifying level thanks to the time he spent with the female Asura commander during the time in the first simulation.
And yet, this guy was battling him on equal footing.
Kailen had to admit that this guy was a monster!
No wonder he was regarded as a prodigy by the Arcane Empowerment Sect.
Yet, instead of feeling helpless for encountering an opponent that seemed to match his prowess, and seemed to be obstructing him in battle, Kailen rather felt euphoric, accompanied with a maniacal, calm carnage seeping through his being.
Jin was utterly shocked, a feeling of helplessness creeping into his heart.
How could a rank 1 beginner stage ascendant level lifeform possess the strength of a rank 1 supreme Stage Ascendant level lifeform?
In all the scenarios Jin had imagined, this was not supposed to be possible.
He knew that Kailen Darkhaven would be able to put up a fight, at least for a while before Jin managed to kill him, but this?
This was simply.... impossible!
And yet, it was happening!
Jin kept using his trump cards.
Curse bombs, curse arrows, curse tendrils, even as Kailen Darkhaven and him were engaged in the battle with their weapons, as each strike was aimed at taking the other person’s life.
However Jin realised that although he had managed to wound Kailen Darkhaven with some attacks, Kailen Darkhaven kept countering his attacks with most of his own techniques as if he knew when and from where Jin would strike.
Jin knew that the only reason why he had not lost this battle against Kailen Darkhaven was due to the fact that even though Kailen Darkhaven seemed to be able to predict his attacks and had terrifying battle instincts, Jin himself had terrifying speed and reflexes that only gave Kailen Darkhaven small windows of an opportunity to react to his attacks and launch some few blows towards him.
With blood pouring out of his lips as his innards shook from their brutal clashes, Jin watched as Kailen Darkhaven growled maniacally.
"Hahaahhaahhaa"
Kailen Darkhaven’s maniacal state managed to seep out of his mind, finding its way to his lips!
The audience seemed to have erupted into a palpable silence, as this battle was packed with unpredictability and tension that exceeded the one they had witnessed a week ago.
Kailen’s crazed expression did not escape Jin as they clashed relentlessly over and over again, his bloodlust so palpable that Jin felt like he was battling the very definition of malevolence.
’He’s enjoying this? What sort of crazy psychopath is this? It’s one thing for us to want to kill each other? But for him to be enjoying this? Does this fucker find this entertaining?’
Jin shot several curse spears and tendrils towards Kailen at this point.
Kailen countered it by sending several arcs of lighting and azure flames towards Jin’s attacks, knowing full well that dodging the opponent’s attacks was literally a waste of time.
After all, Jin could just control the attacks to come towards him again if he evaded them.
The lightning and flame attacks clashed with Jin’s attacks.
Under the gazes of the onlookers, the two attacks swallowed each other and disappeared.
This battle was still at a stalemate.
How would this stalemate be broken?
Also, why did it suddenly look like Jin was starting to have labored breaths?
And yet Kailen Darkhaven never grew tired?
Inasmuch as the duo were at a stalemate at the moment, it was starting to look like one had an endless reserve of universe energy despite spamming skills for so long!
Unlike Jin who had been consuming universe energy recovering elixirs and healing pills in moments during the battle to restore his universe energy and heal his wounds, Kailen Darkhaven’s crimson bloodied form, although bloodied from previous wounds he had acquired from the battle, currently bore no wounds, and he had not consumed a single healing elixir or universe energy recovery pill in the battle!
Was the stalemate starting to shift?
