The words of the appraisal artifact rung in the ears of everyone in the gathering.

No one found it absurd.

Because this was the expected outcome.

Many shocked individuals finally snapped out of their shock, as if reality had caught up with them after the verdict of the appraisal artifact.

" He actually beat Anthony Cruz?"

" This guy is literally an anomaly!"

The crowd erupted into a frenzy.

What Kailen Darkhaven had achieved was not just any milestone.

He had beaten a very famous emotional realm painter in the empire.

He had made an emotional realm painting that had bested the Cruz Paradox!

This was bound to spread his painting achievements in the empire.

" To think for a second that we almost doubted him"

Arrie was the first one to sigh. She had never doubted Kailen’s ability before, until she almost did a moment ago.

" It was not really your fault. The Cruz Paradox projects doubt as one of the emotions it conveys"

Kim added.

" Fair point. But let’s be serious here. We didn’t really doubt Kailen, we were just seriously worried about him, and that’s normal"

Donalds added.

" Fair point"

" Yeah"

As the group were engaged in conversation, Arrie approached Kailen under the gazes of several onlookers, and hugged him.

" I’m so proud of you"

" Mmm, thanks babe"

Several young ladies shot jealous glances towards Arrie, who was having the time of her life, marking her territory.

They knew she wanted to make a statement— the hug, the intimate kiss in front of everyone.

In fact, even Kailen knew what she was doing, and he found it cute.

" Didn’t know Arrie was so possessive of me hehe" he mused to himself, quiet pleased.

" As expected of my daughter. I raised her well"

Helena crossed her arms proudly.

Her daughter had been marking her territory well tonight.

Everyone related to Kailen chuckled at Helena’s words.

" What would you like to call this painting"

Arrie asked a question on everyone’s minds.

A legendary painting as this was something that would make a name for itself in the empire and beyond.

It needed a name.

" Inevitability"

Kailen simply stated..

The message of the painting was simple.

His rise was inevitable.

He was certain. That no matter the obstacle, or the odds, he would stand at the peak of the universe.

The crowd murmured in tacit understanding.

" A fitting name for the painting"

" That’s right. That’s the first thing that came to mind when I saw the painting"

" Incredible. Absolutely incredible"

" Inevitability. I like the ring of it"

" I would do anything to get a copy of it from Painter Darkhaven"

" I would bid several universe coins to get this painting in my house"

" How much do I have to pay for a personal painting, Painter Darkhaven?"

" Anything, name the price!"

Kailen’s friends were completely shocked at the sudden outcome of events.

People were already starting to bid for him to paint the Inevitability painting for them!!

Kailen sighed.

Why were these people overreacting over a painting?

" I’m sorry. But painting is not my main focus. So pardon me for being insensitive to your requests, ladies and gentlemen"

The moment Kailen said this, they backed down.

They came to their senses.

That’s right.

This fellow was not someone committed fully to the painting profession.

His primary focus was his cultivation.

Any other profession he was engaged in was secondary.

He was trying to tell them that he didn’t have the time to paint something for each one of them, even for a lot of universe coins and connections.

" I can use my shadow creatures to paint Inevitability for each of them, since they share my emotions and they are literally extensions of my consciousness, my painting skills are ingrained in them. Therefore I can let them paint something for them" Kailen mused to himself " But I don’t see the need to. I don’t have any special relationship with most of these people, so there’s no reason why I should do them unnecessary favors"

Under the resigned gazes of the onlookers, Kailen and Arrie walked to the group.

Ross Kadmen and Aurelius Zeynar looked towards one another as if they had come to a tacit understanding, after which Aurelius Zeynar spoke to Kailen.

" Could you do us the honor of making an exception by making a physical version of Inevitability in the Painting Hall of fame of the Astral Empire Academy?"

The room was silent for a moment, awaiting Kailen’s response to Aurelius Zeynar’s question.

" Actually, I planned on doing just that, and if you’d want, I could duplicate the painting for you, sir, and Mr Kadmen? In fact I plan to also make copies of Inevitability, alongside other paintings for my loved ones"

After Kailen’s response, everyone got the hidden meaning behind his words.

This guy was slapping them in the face.

He had just told them that painting was not his main focus and therefore, he couldn’t spend all his time to make physical copies of Inevitability for them even if they would give him a lot of universe coins. But here he was, voicing it out loud that he would not only make physical copies of Inevitability for the painting hall of fame of the Astral Empire academy, he would also make copies of it for Ross Kadmen and Aurelius Zeynar, after which he’d make copies of Inevitability and other paintings for his loved ones.

He was literally telling them: I don’t value you and we don’t have any form of connection or relationship with each other, you are not even in my circle, so why should I sacrifice my time to paint something for you?

Also, your money means shit to me, and I honestly don’t care about what you have to offer.

As long as you don’t have a special place in my heart, you won’t get a single painting of mine, not unless I simply want to paint something for you on a whim.

Some of them were offended.

But they didn’t dare voice it out.

First of all, this Kailen Darkhaven was backed seriously by three powerhouse organizations in the empire and Ross Kadmen— who was not only a powerful hybrid of the spectral race and demihuman race, but had a master who was rumored by a select few in the upper circles of the empire to be a rank 7 supreme stage galactic level lifeform, a master for whose backing even the royal family had to give Kadmen face.

Secondly, Darkhaven himself was a terrifying Black Flask and awakener with monstrous potential.

He was extremely cunning, and unpredictable.

His actual rank at the rank 5 supreme stage ascendant level could not be used to judge what he was capable of. Not after the shit he has pulled tonight.

Kailen ignored their expressions, their thoughts drawn completely on their facial expressions, courtesy of emotional resonance.

They couldn’t do shit to him.

" Mr Kadmen, can I have a moment of your time?"

" Sure, Black Flask".

Kailen sent a thought transmission to Arrie and the others that he would be back, after which Ross Kadmen and Kailen excused themselves from the crowd and headed towards a large lounge in the hall.

" We could have had this conversation via thought transmission sir, but I wanted to be extremely polite and civilized with you, due to the nature of my request" Kailen said.

" It sure doesn’t look like something others should hear does it?"

Ross replied.

Kailen replied " Indeed"

" Very well"

The moment Ross Kadmen spoke, he tapped on a table in the lounge.

A rank supreme stage galactic level rune sound barrier appeared around them.

" This Ross Kadmen is really not simple to be able to have access to rank 1 supreme stage rune inscribed artifact" Kailen mused to himself. " Perhaps he can help with my request. Apart from the fact that he’s definitely a powerful hybrid of the spectral race, my speculation is that he’s backed by some sort of master that’s at the supreme stage galactic level, and is definitely stronger than the crown prince— which is a reason which will account better for why the royal family will even give him face. If he can contact that master to help me, perhaps Lian Yu and the others can go to the Frontlines with me"

All these thoughts and deductions flashed through Kailen’s mind in but a mere moment.

The time dilation artifact was even shocked at this kid’s powerful deductive abilities.

" Not bad. This kid, I have to admit, his brains work very well. He may ask stupid questions sometimes but he’s a rare gem"

She was extremely satisfied. " To think he was able to figure this out"

As for Kailen, he was oblivious to the thoughts of the Time Dilation Artifact, who was currently sipping some Cola drink with some shadow creatures at a beach in the shadow expanse.

Under the patient gaze of Ross Kadmen, Kailen opened his mouth.
