The next day, Linna was found dead.

Her body was discovered in the middle of the expedition camp, lying on the ground, fully dressed, staring up at the sky. Dried tear streaks marked her face, and she clutched a locket necklace tightly in her hand. If it hadn’t been for the name tag on her clothes and the necklace, it would have been hard to identify the dried-up corpse as Linna.

While the expedition leader looked down at her body with a solemn expression, the other members glanced at her and whispered among themselves.
