He Became the Only Ally of the Abandoned Warrior
PAID Chapter 85
After a day of rest, the hero’s party gathered at the Papal Palace to have breakfast with the Pope.
The breakfast, though not as grand as the Empire’s, with its fresh salad and a few meat dishes, was certainly luxurious compared to the rations distributed outside.
Arsil didn’t have much of an appetite, despite hearing about the people who had been killed. Her mind was filled with the faces of the bandits they encountered outside the Holy Kingdom, and how they had been desperately gulping down thin soup.
It seemed that the other party members weren't eating much either.
Except for Rabin.
"Another glass of wine."
As Rabin knocked her fork against the glass to call a servant, Arsil frowned.
"Why? There’s no guilt in food."
"You sure eat a lot."
"You never know what’s going to happen. You need to eat well to be in top shape for battle. Besides, isn’t the reason we came here to recover?"
As soon as the glass was refilled, Rabin downed it in one gulp.
"Ah, that’s better."
"Please, have more."
"No, thanks. I’m full. Overeating will give me a stomachache."
Agreus, too, had no issue with Rabin eating well. The 'something' Rabin mentioned was likely referring to the upcoming battle the hero’s party would face, and as a Magic Warrior, she would be an important player in that fight.
"But where are the hero and the porter? Could they be oversleeping?"
"The porter’s a commoner, so he’s not well-versed in etiquette. He usually eats elsewhere to avoid causing trouble. As for the hero… well, she’s always following the porter around, so she’s probably with him."
Rabin snorted at Arsil’s reply.@@novelbin@@
"What’s your problem now?"
"I’m just wondering if, as a commoner myself, I’ve caused any trouble."
"That’s not what I meant."
"Then what did you mean?"
