He Became the Only Ally of the Abandoned Warrior

PAID Chapter 98

Despite the time it took for preparations, Lin and his party safely arrived at the outpost on the Demon Front.

Before departing, Lin met with Reuben to let him know that in three or four days, the remaining survivors of the Holy Nation would leave for Valtercrua and that they would return to the Holy Nation with the children.

“And what about the Saintess?”

It was difficult to answer immediately, but seeing the worried faces of the children, including Reuben, made it impossible for Lin to evade the question.

“The Saintess has been deeply affected by recent events. She’s showing signs of nervous exhaustion and believes she’s not in the best condition to show herself to the children just yet. She said she wants to fulfill her duty and recover before seeing them again. Until then, she’s entrusted the children to you.”

“Leave it to us.”

There were only five of them left, but they were truly devoted servants of the Goddess. Small in number, but perhaps destined for greatness, they could one day be remembered in history as pivotal figures in the evolution of theology.

With Garin’s mages ready for teleportation, Lin and his party were soon whisked away to the Demon Front’s outpost. As the glow of teleportation magic faded, they found themselves standing on the teleportation circle set up on the outskirts of the city of Romance.

“It’s been a while since we’ve been here,” Lin said, a bit more upbeat now that they were out of the Holy Nation.

“Y-yeah,” Lucy replied, visibly nervous as she glanced around, her eyes flicking to Lin for reassurance. Tigria also seemed uneasy, though she remained more composed than Lucy.

Romance City, also known as Lowellina, was distinct from other cities like the commercial hub of Valtercrua or the northern end of Epalthor. Unlike its straightforward counterparts, the city’s nickname, “City of Romance,” seemed somewhat detached from its actual essence.

Originally, Lowellina was known as a flower city, famed for its vibrant flora and the cultivation of flowers that bloomed year-round, earning it the title of "City of Flowers." So why, and when, did it start being called the "City of Romance"?

There were two reasons for this.

The first and most pivotal moment involved none other than Ailan Decaroon.@@novelbin@@

Lowellina was the ancestral home of the Decaroon Duchy, ruled by Ailan’s family for generations. Despite being known as a cold-blooded soldier, Ailan had shown a single, fiery display of emotion—during her infamous proposal to Garin. After being rejected by Garin, who was burdened by the prospect of marriage, Ailan had famously climbed to the top of Lowellina’s high castle walls with a sword, threatening to end her life if Garin didn’t agree to marry her.
