Chapter b87 /b

bChapter /bb87 /b

Victor asked with interest, “Freya, have you decided who to cast as the lead actor in ‘Moonlit Hunt‘?”

Victor had no idea Freya was the author of “Moonlit Hunt” until the day he identally saw her author dashboard with the identical pen name.

Freya gave an awkward smile. “Victor, it’s still too early for that. We haven’t even signed the contract yet.”

Skr looked up from her phone.

She looked at her phone and then nced up at Freya sitting across from her.

Skr thought in disbelief, ‘Freya is Sapphire? That who am I?‘

Skr studied Freya with amused interest. “Freya, are you Sapphire, the author of ‘Moonlit Hunt‘?”

“Of course. Why do you ask?” Freya tossed her hair with a sweet smile. “Are you a fan of mine, Skr?”

Skr’s lips curled into a knowing smile. “Well, I never thought you would turn out to be my favorite author.”

Freya was overjoyed. She thought, ‘I can’t believe Skr is actually a fan of Sapphire. Atst, I’ve got one thing over Skr

Skr propped her chin in her hand with feigned curiosity. “Freya, there are so many plot points in this book I don’t quite get. Mind if I pick your brain?” Freya nodded eagerly. “Don’t worry. Ask me anything, and I’ll tell you everything I know.”

Skr asked, “I’ve always wondered why the serial killer in ‘Moonlit Hunt‘ always strikes when it rains. Is there ba /bspecial reason you set it up that wayb?/bb” /b

Freya said with confident ease, “Skr, you clearly haven’t been paying close attention.

“It’s set up this way because the sound of rain triggers the serial killer’s split personality.

“He developed a split personality because, when he was a kid, his entire family was murdered during a home invasion.

“His family hid him in the bathroom storage cab to save him. He mped a hand over his mouthb, /bwatching in terror as the murderer washed the blood off his hands in the sink right above him.

“After washing his hands, the killer left the faucet running. The steady dripping sounded just like falling rain.

“The trauma was too much. He couldn’t bear to recall the horror, so his mind splitb, /bcreating a split personality, violent, vtile, and bloodthirsty, the exact opposite of his original self.”

Freya was absolutely right. Everything she said came straight from Skr’s book.

But that wasn’t how Skr originally intended it.

In her original story, the killer was a born psychopath who loved blood. He trembled in the cab because he was thrilled by the sight bof /bbit/b.

Later, when he became a serial killer, the split personality was just an bact/bb, /bba /bcalcted lie. He picked rainy days because blood washed away easierb, /band he found it almost beautiful swirling down the drain.

She wrote it all pretty subtly. Freya might have read it, but she clearly didn’t look too closely. She probably didn’t catch on at all.

Skr nced at Freya with a yful grin. “Freya, can I take a peek at your author dashboard?b” /b

Freya’s expression froze for a split second. Why would you bwant /bbto /bsee my author dashboard?”

Skr teased, “Freya, one of your books went on hiatus. Don’t tell me you’ve run out of drafts. Your fans are bombarding byou /bbfor /bupdates.”

b“/bI bdo /bhave some drafts, but I can’t show them right now. I’m so sorry. But you can follow my X page. You’ll get update alerts bwhenever /bbI /bbpost /bsomething new.” Freya pulled out her phone with a grin and showed Skr the screen.

Skr found the situation increasingly amusing.

She had barely stepped out of prison when life hit her with one thing after another. There was not a single moment left for her to bwrite/bb. /b

To avoid distractions and keep her exact whereabouts private, Skr never downloaded a single social media app to promote her books.

Whenever there was a giveaway or any news about her book, it was always her editor who took care of everything.
